  • just use honda s2000 engine +trans , i garantee you will bee mor than happy.

  • @shaikhdishgan1 eww honda

  • Good work. And ya, the TR6's block can take it, with a few other tweaks for good measure.

On mine, I went straight up hot rod though. She now has a Ford 302 and a T5 Mustang tranny. For the most part it's just nice to criuse at 70 on the highway doing only about 2000 rpm. :-)

  • Good thing you're not revving it! ...One of the weakest bottom ends ever created! Definitely the wrong block to throw power into! WAY overstroked, overbored, and under-bearinged! ...geesh!!!

  • @tobysdaddy123 You're talking about the Stag V8, right?... One of the firms I've been working with regularly builds these engines running 250bhp normally aspirated and revving up to 7K... They do have a bracing kit, cam bearings and up-scaled cam followers... but there doesn't seem to be a problem with the bottom end.

  • uhh, does it do anything above an idle? ...nevermind, I've heard supercharged TR6's rev before. ...sound pretty "whiny"! It IS a nice car and all; but why throw all that tech. into an overstroked, weak-bottomed engine like a Triumph 2.5? Let's face it, it was obsolete when it was new! May as well slap an inter-cooled turbo set up on an old Farmall M!! Why not just appreciate it for what it was/is? IF you want to build real power, start with a better block! :)

  • How much boost are you running, and what is the static compression of this engine?... I understand that the US spec Triumph engines have very low compression compared to UK ones.

  • @lewiar

Hi.I have not measured the boost pressure.

The engine is a 125 HP CR , PI engine converted to EFI with a US spec.7,5 CR cylinder head. The engine does also have a lightweight flywheel.

  • i have tr6 with sup chr and have to be care full not to blow it up but i love it and also another tr6 with 350v8.

  • Hi.

Can you post a picture of your TR6 supercharger installation ?

    Oystein

  • Very cool!

  • Hi.I don`t exactly understand what you mean.

I made this supercharger installation to see if I could make a custom installation, and I also wanted to learn how it affected the TR6 engine. But of course you can blow your engine into pieces with this setup if you drive it very hard.I don`t do that.

  • one of my friends had a tr6 with a rx-7 rotary with a turbo, that shit was crazy fast it was doing like 9-8's on the track before he had to rebulid the heads on it

  • what bhp did it develop?

  • I havent dyno tested the car.I will guess betwenn 160-180 HP.I dont want more because then I have to strengthen the frame. The only strength modification I have done is a differential mounting bracket upgrade.I can recomend you to supercharge your TR6 engine. The most impressing is the low RPM torque increase compared to a standard engine.

  • You probably drive a hyundai excel with fully sick 13" hub caps, and a 1.5 litre shit box engine.

Dont be a tosser, this car would probably tromp your shit box!!!!

  • Nice Job! Any chance of seeing this 6 in the states?

  • just look on ebay

  • Crack the head yet?

  • No, I am very happy with the supercharger.

  • Nice, 2 questions, 1 peice of advice... Firstly loose the engine driven fan (they tend to fly apart at 8 grand) and now the q's why the intercooler? and what camshaft?

  • noisey tappets matey!!
