I can't wait to see this movie! I got to see the parasol plane used in the movie at the Dayton, OH Dawn Patrol air show this year. All the planes were so beautiful. I'm glad they made this movie, we're so use to all of our high tech gadgetry that we forget where the things we have and rely on got their start. Sure, we can hop on a plane and fly off to Europe now and think nothing of it but back then that was a risky and dangerous flight. I hope someone makes a movie about Bessie Coleman next.

But, I believe with all my heart that Earhart didn't give up and just crash in the ocean, there were islands that she could have landed on. That's what I think happened to her, probably didn't live long (weather extremes) but I think she survived the crash for sure. (I'm writing a paper over her in my college english class, she's my idol! ) =]

In 1962 U.S. Navy Commander Pillsbury described to CBS how the real Earhart story would "stagger the imagination" while in 1965 Admiral Nimitz told CBS it was quietly "known and documented in Washington" Earhart was "picked up" under the auspice of Japan... never really 'disappeared.' I didn't feel the drama in this one, probably okay at the point when she gets lost forever. I think it'll garner a few award nods, but won't do anything spectacular.

But, you never know. I didn't think too highly of Titanic before it came out, which I watched and didn't really get into, I was way off on that one.
