i think this strat is from 58 .. BUT ... buy a metronome ... you need it and practise to play the songs SLOW .. so your tone will be sounds better ..

everyone started slow .. i don´t know you , but it sounds like , you started 3 years ago and the first you tried was stevie ray .. without any groundplayknows ..

Sounds Good to me. He ain't no Stevie Ray, but he is doing alright. To all the guitar players that say this stinks and they are better... maybe they can remember when they were just learning and weren't so smooth (even though this guy is obviuosly more advanced than beginner), and always remember theres always someone better than you out there. Jimi Hendrix had horrible form if you ever look at his playing. in fact, "elitist" argue that you should probably play completely opposite of Hendrix's mimicked blues guitar playing (positioning of the hand and how you hold your chords. i mean, your thumb shouldn't be over the fret board, but that is a style of playing - that's how i play guitar too.) i mean if you're some John Mclaughlin then why not demonstrate your expertise mister, guitar shop guy.

you work in a guitar shop yet you don't know of john mclaughlin? either youtube him, or read some of his music he's put out; i'd assume (and most likely correctly) the majority of guitar shops have books with his music. have you heard of mahavishnu orchestra? he played guitar for them.

id say play it first see how the tone is and if nething is wrong. See what model it is and if its made in mexico or the usa. Usa strats are worth a little more.

there are soooo many new models, Fender has probably has close to different Strats for 2008, not to mention the custom shop strats. So, for that kind of money make sure it is American and that it sounds good. If it is Mexican you can buy them at the store for that much money were you will get to go play 20 of them and pick the best one.

I think the main problem is that as he's in a house - I assume in a city. He can't crank up the amp. That would make a big difference IMHO. Technical skills are OK on this one timing sucks though.

i don't hear the univibe as it is, it doesn't matter if it's the original or not, mine is a copy that i made -and sounds incredible as many builders do. but the original ones were diferent one from another
