  • Hey which pedal is that behind you at the beginning?

  • Brilliant, as usual. Thanks!

  • c'est tres magnifique, merci b! from South africa

  • c'est tres magnifique, merci b! from South africa

  • Nice guitar

  • "baby finger" xD that was a first haha, never heard that untill now .

  • This guitar just seems to have so soft strings dude! What are they?

  • You're a good guitar teacher!

  • The first chord sounds like Ulver - 'The Voice Of The Devil, Plate 4'

  • Thank you Andrew!

  • I can stretch my hand easily to those positions, but my problem is that i,m raising my fingers way too high after playing a note, i just cant help it :o

  • @Worzx Try an exercise called the Spider. Theres several versions but the one that would help you the most, you can find from a guy called gr8blues guitar. His name is Anthony Stouffer. I had the same problem you have. That exercise cured it. It makes each finger work independently of the other.

  • @Worzx I know an exercise that cured that problem for me and you can do it in a way that compliments to the one taught in this video. Just take the 1/2 full full step shape he's showing and instead of going horizontal (up & down the neck) go vertical from string to string. I start on the 6th string and go to 1rst then reverse. Now the essential detail is that while doing that you must ensure that EACH finger STAYS down no matter what on their frett until its turn to move.

  • thank you a lot man it really helped me

  • Yeah baby make 'em use that fourth finger! Django had two fingers so you sure as hell should use all the fingers you got!

  • cool lesson

  • This really helps. Thank you!

  • i find that learning songs you can't play yet improve everything and exercises just seem too boring. what is your opinion on this?

  • haha i never knew bc rich made normal looking guitars lol...

the only bc rich ive ever seen (or atleast noticed) is that pointy bat wing ant jaw shaped thingy

  • wow.....nice

  • @TheKoolNFunny same here does that cause any problem to us??

  • How comes you didn't olay your Fender?

  • I am left handed and I learned to play guitar right-handed, is that good or bad?

  • @Prnrck95 It doesnt matter you develop all new skills anyway so its better to learn right handed it makes it easier to learn because of most examples and demonstrations are played right handed guitarists

  • Thanks for the great lessons. I think I have warped fingers because Ex. 2 is virtually impossible for me :)

  • nice guitar, great lessons thanx

  • thx so much for this man.peace

  • incredible lesson! i've been searching for new exercises all over youtube and i found more from you alone than all the others combined over the last week. thanks so much!

  • I just tried some of these... my left hand is on fire.

  • Hey andrew. During these exercises, my finger bumps into other strings. should I try to correct thisor not.

  • Great lesson, thanks!

  • can we get a handout of this Andrew.. thanks

  • Hello Everyone...

Sorry it took so long, I now "Finally" have the exercise & dexterity handout available. Follow the link to the download under the (more info) drop-down in the Subscribe box to the Right--->

    - Andrew Wasson

  • Just got to mention the octave + 3rds exercise. I ran over it for a few hours yesterday and noticed alot of improvement in how my fingers place themselves down on the fretboard, that is to say much more accurate placing. My ring finger needs the workout badly, it tends to be rather dumb about it's placement.

  • a great stretch excercise is the pentatonic sweeping lick from dream theater's under a glass moon solo

  • A better one is the chord before the main riff in Allan Holdsworths road games. It goes like this:

    Open High E String

6th fret, b string, index finger

7th fret, g string, middle finger

11th fret, d string, baby finger

    open a string.

Try playing that one in time!

  • Great lesson! Thank you again Andrew.

  • thank you for those great exercises and stretches

  • leet

  • Thank you Andrew, your videos are great, very academic, you remind me of J Satriani as to your technical, theory and teaching ability.

  • Great lesson Andrew thanks for taking the time to make videos!
