  • Yeah, I enjoyed it! I'm 12 again and on holiday with my parents in Wales in the 1960s!

  • why is this song so addictive? cant stop singing it

  • Heard it as a child and always remembered it's uplifting melody, a great song.Brings back a good feeling of sunny childhood days

  • I was not even born then, but the message of this song is so powerful and easy, plus the great melody makes it a masterpiece. Love it, love it and love it!!!

  • Thank you for this song, which was a huge hit in Ireland in 1963. At that time I was 14 1/2, far away from my San Francisco home to attend school, and very lonely, but listening to this always lifted my spirits.

  • I'm listening to both the English and the Spanish version sung by the same two artsts and It brings back memories. Things from way back when I was a kid maybe 7 or 8 years old. It's just great. it's awesome

  • another carole king masterpiece

  • I have been looking for this song since my childhood...cant believe Ive stumbled across it.....love, love, love it

  • Does this remind anyone of the Eastenders theme music?

  • Great song Thanks for posting it.

  • Beautiful song

  • Absolute Classic. Thanks for posting

  • brilliant song, i remember somebdy singing it live in NEWQUAY when i was young, loved it ever since.

  • I love Eydie's another old one ' I Will Follow You '!! Who can bring it back ?

  • A bigger hit in the UK (#3) than in their native US (#28).

  • DUSTY SPRINGFIELD COVERED THIS SONG WITH THE PET SHOP BOYS .

  • yeah. 'love'.. what's that again?

  • Yet another gem by Carole King. There is a great version by a British couple that is even better than this one. And I love this version.

  • Been looking for this haunting melody from my younger days circa 1963. I just found it. wow .. what i flood of great memories ...thanks !!

  • I was 16, she was 18. She was heading to college in that Summer of '63......then to airline school. This was her song to me.......it was all there..........but different directions came..... this song really brings back warm hearted thoughts

  • I can't agree more with kindface. exactly the same words " I've been reliving my childhood and retrieved every golden song I could remember. I've been looking for this forever"

    '

  • Believe it or not, I've got this on 45 vinyl single and it's in good condition, probably pressed in the sixties.

  • absolutamente fresa , ya no habra màs musica fresa ? , a los jovenes actuales mis hijos les gusta esta mesica , voz suave y tierna la de EYDIE

  • Very special song... still means the same as always did... Wonderful Steve & Eydie

  • Classic song, which reached number 5 in the UK in August 1963.

  • such a great song from way back when i was growing up.when music was music and people were happier. dustys arrangement is ok too but not as good as this

  • Awesome reminds me of my school days great duet beaut song

  • Sweet, simple, heart-felt music. Music hasn't improved since then. It's hateful and degenerate, like the musicians who whine and scream it.

  • I may be 24 but I love this shit. I kind of want to pick up where Tiny tim left off, uke in hand documenting the forgotten music of the times before mine. Anyone got chords for this?

  • nice reminder of the early years in the uk

  • hermosa cancion saludos del peru

  • Yeah 60 is a good age to be listening to great songs like this - I remember a bus load of us school kids singing this, driver never recovered.

  • 1990 Super Bowl in Tampa, Sinatra, Steve, Eydie performed. It was great seeing all three on stage.

  • One of my favorites!!!! Go 'Gators...from Ja.x. Fl.

  • I honestly don't think I've heard this song since the summer of '63! But I never forgot it and just now found myself...at age 60...singing along! Thanks for a wonderful memory!

  • Same here. This is one of the best songs they've here.

  • This melody has haunted me since being a teenager in the early 60s. I know i heard it on the radio in 1963 but could never remember who sang it. I ,too at 60, have been singing along and have reconnected with some great memories .Thanks !!

  • It reminds me of when I was a Royal Marine recruit, bulling up my parade boots in 1962.

    785 squad

  • great song from Steve and Eydie Thanks for posting

  • simply the best -- my dad loved these two and I grew up w/ them -- would have loved to have seen them in person.

  • Probably one of thier best songs and way underated in my opinion. The fidelity and Bass on this is excellent!! Thank you so much for posting this one.I listen to it at least a few times a week.

  • Jasper - it did well in Australia, Peaked at #7

  • The old, and the new. Make families come closer????

  • EASTENDERS THEM TUNE! la la la la lah lah lah

  • I always loved this song. I have the 45.

  • @videoarchiveman

I remember this from when I was little back in the 60s. I asked my mum and dad to buy it for me but they said no and wouldn't even let me spend my pocket money on it. It's taken me years to find it again and it was well worth the wait. I don't remember it getting into the charts though, despite the amount of airplay it got on the radio. Look after, and treasure, your 7" vinyl - it may be worth a bit by now if it's still in good nick.

    Annie :)

  • It peaked at #28 on the Billboard top 100 in 1963.

  • It nice to be back to the 60"s - I was in a record shop and I heard this song which was really catchy and sang so well but it so unfortunate it did not do well on the chart.

    Thks for the posting

    Rgds

  • Amazing song and fantastic artists singing it! Thanks for the post! I've enjoyed introducing Steve and Eydie to

60+ elementary students in the last 25 months. All of my students love them and their incredible voices.

  • I JUST WANT TO STAY HERE and enjoy this wonderful song by this fantastic couple (that I've never heard). Thank you so much for sharing it cardiaco9.

  • I want to stay here... hearing the the song. XD

  • sixties summers on the shore.

  • lovely...sounds even better in Spanish!

  • What a great number.Ah,the memories just flood back.

  • thanks for posting, love this track - also looking for "Walking Proud" by Steve.

  • Great song! Could anyone please post, "Can't Stop Talking About You," from about '63? Thanks!!

  • Beutiful reminds of when i was a small boy.

    thanks.

  • Thanks cardiaco9. Finding this has given me so much pleasure. It is one of those songs that had almost drifted off the memory database of this particular old head. But all is good again.

  • que es eso de patito feo?

  • Great music! Wish someone would post, "Can't Stop Talking About You"

    from about '63. Thanks!

  • Like others I have loved this song for many years, and have been looking for it too. Please someone tell me another version was around in 1958 as it always reminds me of my very first holiday when I was four...

  • Like others, I've been looking for this wonderful melody since I was a boy. Always knew one day I'd be able to share it with my favorite girl who is now my wife. Thanks again!

  • "Ahora que estamos solitos" Their spanish version...

  • i prefere the one of mexico the one of ahora que estamos solitos is besto is of the telenovela atrevete a soñar the one of patito feo but the remeke of mexica that is goood¡¡

  • what a beauty from 1963! I was listening to it on the radio when it was playing and I was crying at the same time. I was 11 years old. Thanks for sharing it with all of us who love it and 1963!

  • My parents must have been listening to this song the Summer of '63... 'cause I was born Spring of '64!!!

  • two of the best voices in pop music - this was a staple at our garage dances in junior high, Chicago. Many thanks!

  • I, as a teen very rarely listen to oldies but this particular hit from 1963 is one of my favourites. It has a beautiful melody and is kind of relaxing. Definitely one of my top songs.

  • now here are one of the few couples that are still married after all them years.they are great together.

  • beautiful.

  • Love this sweet song from the summer of 1963...

  • tanks for posting this song, its remember my childhood..

  • just brilliant

  • Oh my god!!! I thought I wasn't going to hear this song ever again in my life!!! I just adore it!!! last time I heard it was 15 years ago, sorry but I'm from a latin country and we don't have oldies radio stations, thank you Cardiaco!!!!

  • cardiaco, I can't tell you how grateful I am for this song. Since YouTube's existed, I've been reliving my childhood and retrieved every golden song I could remember. I've been looking for this forever (I kept searching for "I don't want to go to the party"), misspelling Eydie's last name. Finally today, I found it! I'm eternally grateful to you!!

  • I share his emotions. Thank you

  • @kindface I did the same LOL

  • Excellent. One of my favorite Steve and Eydie songs. My wife and I met them many years ago. A VERY warm and caring couple! Thanks for sharing.

  • This fine song reminds me of spending the summer of 1963. Until tonight, I haven't heard it since that summer. I always loved Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme' harmony and their New York City pop sound of the fifties and sixties. Great memories associated with this tune.

    Thanks, for posting this video.

  • dkevinwalker, I can totally relate to your experience. I heard this gem probably in 1967 and never heard it again until I discover this tonight, some 41 years later. To say I'm on cloud 9 is an understatement! For me, this song defines EG & SL...and my childhood.

  • What a superb song,thanks for posting !

  • Wow! First time I have ever seen Eydie's name before Steve's. I have also seen Steve & Eydie. Sort of like Donny & Marie.

  • Someone finally posted this! Yay! What a great record... Steve & Eydie's is the best version of all. Song written, of course, by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, husband and wife themselves in 1963.

  • I adore this song!

  • There is no doubt about it...Steve and Eydie are incredible talents. No one will ever equal them...they're the tops!!! I love you Steve and Eydie. Andrea

  • Thanks cardiaco9 for posting this wonderful song.

  • Brill. Takes me back to my first crush! I was 7 and fancied this girl. It was on ALL the fairground rides at Mabelthorpe!! I gave her the plastic ring out of a Lucky Bag and then she was gone....the holiday over!

  • thank you so much for re-posting the English version. the pics are great too, just love, love, love, them ......S&E are my ultimate favorite singers today, yesterday and always.

  • thanks for just posting this song. This is one of my favourite songs of the sixties.
