When ever you clear a weapon you got to make sure you drop the mag and lock and visualy see theres no round in the chamber. Ive seen soldiers come off the range with a round still in there weapon. i just went through the concealed handgun licensing class and the instructor did not allow any weapons in class til we were at the range. throughout the course we used dummy guns, and dummy bullets.

*There was no bullet in the chamber he cocked the slider back to make sure there was no bullet in the chamber and walked over to his colleague to confirm - the fool however did not remember to release the magazine. When he released the slider forward the weapon armed itself loading a bullet into the chamber from the magazine.

He is a federal agent, he should know how to safety check a weapon better than he can brush his teeth. Also being a "professional" he should have safety checked the weapon before bringing the weapon into the classroom, or atleast before waving it around. He maybe trained to use a firearm, but maybe he should've been trained to use common sense.

@RoloDelaCruz He is working with a team, they probably do these training sessions pretty often. He is the speaker and it is probably his assistants job to handle all the weapons and check them. YES he should have double checked it with his own hands in front of the class, but still. This is a rehearsed training that I'm sure he has down multiple times and he made a mistake. but like i said, you hear about this stuff all the time. and those other cops are not fired or anything.

Second those cops shouldn't be fired but put on a strict re-training program and should be in safety classes until they are proved to be able to handle their firearms WITHOUT stupid mishaps like this one. He was pulling the trigger after thinking he cleared the pistol. SOP on a Glock is to pull the trigger after clearing because the forward trigger is your loaded chamber indicator. If the trigger is forward then it is likely there is a round ready to fire. Too bad he didn't visually inspect the chamber. SpaceHero there is a safety on the trigger.

When ever you clear a weapon you got to make sure you drop the mag and lock and visualy see theres no round in the chamber. Ive seen soldiers come off the range with a round still in there weapon. National Guard member had his arm blown off by a round in .50 CAl Machine Gun while loading it on the back of duec/half. Theres been alot people shot because somebody didnt clear there weapon properly.ON and ON ! examples

*There was no bullet in the chamber he cocked the slider back to make sure there was no bullet in the chamber and walked over to his colleague to confirm - the fool however did not remember to release the magazine. When he released the slider forward the weapon armed itself loading a bullet into the chamber from the magazine.
