What? 1990 was the last official year for caboose operation. Except on the Southern pacific. They ran the things in manifest service until atleast 1994. Nice video.
@zartok35 the reason why SP still ran cabooses into the 1990s was that some of its lines (the Sisikyou line for instance) didnt have any defect dectectors set up yet due to financial obligations or the fact they were considered "secondary" lines. Henceforth, SP still kept cabooses for daily operations on select lines until either 1994 or when they sold the line altogether

Enjoyable but puzzling. Cabooses had been eliminated during the 1980s. The video's dated 7/7/90 and there is a caboose on this train.
