Debate and the free expression of opinions are essential to a democracy. That being said, Grimaud is an exceptionally talented artist. The Gyorgi Sandor version is just allucinating. It is a little bit out of the "Style" ( a word which i really don´t like tioo much...) sometimes, but the real passion and giant sound in the FFFF s is something incredible.

Until today ( for me) his version of Brahms D minor concerto and the BET V Emperor , are the greatest of all. ( of course both two ha a kind of personal signature of Kerer) . Concerning D minor is the most passionate i never listened.

I can't believe how critical some people are of others. Grimaud is a beautiful, fascinating woman and her playing reaches into the depths of one's soul. There are way too many technical players out there that lack the ability to bring tears to the listener's eyes. While interpretation is important, over-interpretation can lead to a lack of musicality. I applaud Grimaud and love her playing. Not only is she physically gorgeous, but she is blessed with God-given talent and brilliance.

It's easy to play always Bartok's third concerto, or Beethoven fourth (now she plays fifth, oouuf!) hole your life to earn milions dollar, and after you talk music and wolves like you're so pure. Grimaud seems to act a love scene. She is a better actress than musician. Media can make celebrities out of actors. One doesn't need too much talent, but play good, have friends among journalists and all is done.
Some musicians should play more (acurate) and act less. I do not even find her beautiful.
I don't like the way she Stamps out the notes as if her fingers were mini Hammers. Most of the playing I have reviewed of hers is greatly lacking in subtilty and fine shades of color and nuance. Her volume range is mostly between F and FFF, rarely do I hear a true P, or PP, and if I do its very brief before she's back at big heavy, Forced sounds.
A lot of musicians act like they're having orgasms; especially, the Japanese. I think it's too much "fake" emotion simply for showmanship, and it distracts their musical ability. A little emotion is fine, but when someone has to ask whether you're having an orgasm, that's a little too much.
I agree, though is is not the whole piece. The whole thing runs around 16 minutes. Unfortunately this is just an excerpt of the Part piece where he unjustifiably takes Bach's Well Tempered Prelude #1 "Ave Maria" and shits on it. Such music shouldn't be incorporated into modern minimalist crap. Oh, and is Grimaud actually playing the piano or having an orgasm? This is just too histrionic and overdone for me too.

Merveilleuse pianiste, extraordinaire je dirais même plus...Elle ressent la musique de toutes ses fibres et c'est bien cela la Musique, pas pour un but de comparaison, pas pour la technique non, pour le plaisir ! C'est dit ! (et ceux qui disent ces bêtises dessous ne sont que des gros jaloux !)

her pianistic level is like a student in any conservatory. Her beethoven's fourth concerto is so stunning of mediocrity, technical imperfection. Just look Perahia's version. There is so many young talented pianists with a large repertoire and who don't need wolves for be famous!! (Grimaud, almost 40 years old, she played always same pieces in her life, look to her homepage)

She plays this Beethoven's fourth concerto since forever. Her fingers, too taut don't permit to her to play pieces with a great mesures. (Rachmaninoff third concerto, prokofiev concertos or chopin and liszt etudes...etc). An artist searches again and again to learn without stop. It's easy to play always Bartok's third concerto, or Beethoven fourth (now she plays fifth, oouuf!) hole your life to earn milions dollar, and after you talk music and wolves like you're so pure. Where is the truth?

Grimaud seems to act a love scene. She is a better actress than musician. Media can make celebrities out of actors. One doesn't need too much talent, but play good, have friends among journalists and all is done.
Some musicians should play more (acurate) and act less. I do not even find her beautiful.

I don't like the way she Stamps out the notes as if her fingers were mini Hammers. Most of the playing I have reviewed of hers is greatly lacking in subtilty and fine shades of color and nuance. Her volume range is mostly between F and FFF, rarely do I hear a true P, or PP, and if I do its very brief before she's back at big heavy, Forced sounds.

A lot of musicians act like they're having orgasms; especially, the Japanese. I think it's too much "fake" emotion simply for showmanship, and it distracts their musical ability. A little emotion is fine, but when someone has to ask whether you're having an orgasm, that's a little too much.

I agree, though is is not the whole piece. The whole thing runs around 16 minutes. Unfortunately this is just an excerpt of the Part piece where he unjustifiably takes Bach's Well Tempered Prelude #1 "Ave Maria" and shits on it. Such music shouldn't be incorporated into modern minimalist crap. Oh, and is Grimaud actually playing the piano or having an orgasm? This is just too histrionic and overdone for me too.
