  • such a beautiful song ... tonight i will light up a candle , take my guitar and record a cover for it ...

  • R.I.P Mark Linkous :(

  • There's no music like this anymore.

  • i think my heart just broke....

  • 12 months have passed since you decided to leave and I'm still waiting for someone to show me the way home. Miss you Mark. Everyday.

  • Mark, the anniversary is coming up of the day I heard you died. On that day I didn't even recognize your name. I had Sparklehorse but I had barely listened to it. I hadn't even heard Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot. I deeply regret not knowing how much your music could mean to me before you were gone and I wish more than anything that I could know you, but I do know you because you live on in the music you make and the effect said music has on me. In short, I love you Mark. RIP.

  • GENIUS album, a landmark song. great loss, farewell soldier, rest in peace

  • It makes me think of trisomic puppies

  • a Horse..

  • I'm sad, that i hear the music just after Marks death.

And now i love this songs.. So true

  • So great and so original...

  • Perfection.

  • i want to cry wen i hear this song and think of marks suicide.. then my problems and everything... but if i cry someone will hear me and well.. society doesnt allow forgivness does it

  • we need to burn that cursed recording consle before it takes another life

  • I can't believe he's gone... RIB Mark.

  • @newdaisy227 RIB?

  • i heard sad and beautiful world on the radio abt two weeks ago, whilst i was with my bro in the car, and telling him what a great band this was, and wanting to know who they were, then all of a sudden the dj says that the lead singer shot himself through the heart and i just stopped.....i've been looking for sparklehorse songs ever since. great band, great poet, R.I.P :(

  • this and 'gasoline horseys' were the ones. he sometimes used to ask his audiences to join in the last couple of choruses of this. i've seen that request met mainly by indifference, but also seen several hundred twenty and thirty-somethings quietly sing it along with him. wonderful song. rest in peace.

  • @aj141070 Agreed. We all sang along in Manchester a few years ago. Uniquely, the whole audience was in tune and in time. It was one of the best moments of my life.

  • Farewell Mark stay well thanks a lot

  • we will miss you Mark

  • @rchangel you may have more to offer than anyone in this world...just get some sleep

  • depressive musicians usually die young...if he we're happier, do you think you would miss his music?

  • God bless Mark Linkous, one of the greatest songwriters of all times

  • please don't!!

  • The man always saw the beauty in pain........... Another poet lost to?

  • He reminds me a lot of Nick Drake. Very lo-fi folk music... soloists, etc.

  • In life and death he managed to make a sad and beautiful world a little more sad and beautiful.

  • a unique and insanely talented voice in a world of sameness. missing more Sparklehorse music already. Mark was an absolute one-of-a-kind. we're ripped apart today.

  • I am so sick of death. I really just got into this band last year.

  • R.I.P. Mark :(

  • gorgeous song!!!

    So glad I found it.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • and on a Sunday...

  • This song is absolutly amazing. Its got a very good melodey and its catch. Unlike some other songs, I could listen to this song over and over again.

  • Its a blessing they are'nt as well known. I prefer bands who are there to be found and not shoved in ur face on the air waves mixed in with bullshit commercials. Look what happened to KOL for instance, first 2 albums amazing, now they are the most irritating band on the planet. Thankfully this has not happened to Sparklehorse, Mark Linkous is a genius and a gem to be discovered in ones own time, took me a while to find them but so glad I did.

  • its so weird,

how i listen to the heaviest genres of music, but i find this being my favorite band. they're such a heavy influence on the music i write. its ashame they arent more well known.

  • Beautiful!!

  • was turned on to it..

    am in love with sparklehorse..

  • Reminds me of my first 2 weeks in Québec, back in 97. Alone french student, lost in Laval university, those were not easy moments... I was listening to these album all day long...

But it was also the beginning of something amazing. Great great song !

  • this song reminds me of driving around crying my eyes out

  • agreed. most of their work does these days. them and Grandaddy.

  • i want to cry...

  • makes me sleepy an' happy ^_^

  • I just have to say that Sparklehorse changed my life (I have their sparrow tattooed on my back). If you ever get a chance to see them live, take it!!!

  • Heard this song for the first time when I was watching a re-run of the 90's show

Popular. The song was played during the scene where Sam tries on Brookes homecoming queen tiara.

Anyways,I this song is so relaxing to listen to,very beautiful.

Can't wait to check out their other songs.

  • beautiful song

  • he's the best

  • Sparklehorse is the most beautiful musician I've ever heard. The Stanley Kubrick of the alternative rock

  • this song is so beautefull...

  • purty...

  • beautiful song

  • crying...

  • I love this album. There's not a weak song in the entire album and M.L. can hit so may emotions and tones, it's impressive to say the least.

  • agree entirely. spent many a nights with the lights out listening to this album. seems to work better with the lights out. or so i think.

  • I could do without the marble song, but love all the rest.

  • yes, it is a beautiful album, they should keep working in this direction.

    But yes, very good band..

  • One of my favorite albums of all-time. ML is an underrated songwriter.

  • best song ever writen

  • this is christmas. Amazing video and song

  • very amazing.....

  • amazing song, it's wonderful. like the video!

  • the beginning of this video has a real Twin Peaks vibe, which is a good thing!

  • I love it.

  • not the typical fan video, in that there is some serious thought and substance behind its style. i like it!

  • this is awesome. Captures the vibe of one of the best albums ever.

  • thanks for posting its really sweet goes with the song very nicely

  • this is really cool. it seems like it would be official. it feels like a very sparklehorse video. i wouldnt have been able to tell it was just a fan video.
