and yes i actually searched it on here to see if there was a proper way of doin it as pathetic as it sounds cuz im sick of askin family members or friends to use there shit and i dont make enough with my just under minimum wage job to afford luxories like a washing machine let alone heat my house lmfao least i got a roof over my fuckin head tho
i kinda figured this shit does or would work no detergent so gonna have to use dish soap but now that i got to thinkin about it i dont have a dryer either i live in pa and its october now and all i heat with ais a dumb ass electrixc heater and its that time of th year yeah its cold as shit its gonna take a week for them things to dry and i bet when they do they are hard as a rock lol any suggestions
i did this once and all i did was put the dirties in the garden tub and i turned on the jets. very lil soap and they came squeaky clean. i also use to wash my clothes in a standard tub with one of those air bubble mats. they come so clean .
When I was prospecting in the bush I'd just get a bucket with water and detergent in it, swish it around, and put the dirty clothes in with the soapy water. I'd let it sit in the 90 degree sun all day. In the evening I'd rinse the clothes out in the lake,
wring them by hand, and hang them out to dry. My clothes were always clean...
i really don't want to run out to the laundro-mat to do my laundry. i googled how to do laundry in the bathtub just to see if there was a way to do it haha.
so i guess i'll just do this, and like doublebug was saying, i'll hang them over the tub.
i hope it works out. i got work tomorrow and all my clothes smell really bad lol. maybe i'll keep you all posted ;)
When I was a bachelor I did my laundry in the bath tub and than I would usually hang them up over the tub, just like she explained. I thought I was the only one... Rofl
Interesting how people have their own way of cleaning to satisfaction... The hours of bleach struck me. Must be murder on the hands.
My grandma used to clean her dishes in scalding hot water. I think she must've killed the nerves in her hands to be able to use water that hot. And no, she didn't wear gloves. ?: )
Pre-washing machines, my grandma used to wash clothes in a big pot designed for that in the community room of the house my grandparents lived in. Used a wooden oar-type thing to stir, not her hands.
Okay, I will never again complain about ONLY having a Clothes washing machine here in Italy! I cannot even IMAGINE washing clothes in a BATHTUB--with CLOROX! Hey, you get your bathtub clean while you wash your clothes! LOL!

You learn something new every day. I've got the feeling I'm going to need to know how to do this one of these days. And now I do, thanks.

Sometimes, the old ways are the best. But that crapping in a hole in the back yard had to go.

Or even crappin' in an outhouse in the backyard when it's freezing cold.

I visited a few southern plantation kitchens in the Baton Rouge area and they used oars and giant pots to cook the food, too.

You don't have to own a skiff to look cool with oars.

But she owns a dryer! Why not trade in the dryer for a washer and use an outdoor clothes line...less labor and energy consumption.
