This issue isn't going to be solved. The only thing we "little people" can do is to realize that inflation is going to continue to eat away our money until it's worthless. If you would have bought Silver last week you would have already made money and thus, hedged against inflation.

Releasing oil reserves won't bring down gas prices. Prices are determined by long term production. If you really want the price of gas to come down, then you have to realize three key reasons for its rise. The wars in the middle east are obvious enough, President Obama's moratorium on oil drilling and exploration, and the Fed's continued devaluation of our dollar are the reasons why gas is so expensive at a time where domestic demand is low.

@therealaj123 Well, how much are the Democrats proposing cutting military spending. I have sit back and wathced the new adminsitration increase military spending over the last two years. Rand Paul would like to cut more than that, but he's got to get Republican votes. He would like to cut government more than he proposed, but he's got to get Democrat votes. His budget is the only one that ends the deficits in 5 years. The other plans aren't serious.

@boredomstryks I think this misses the point though. We should be transitioning away from prodcution taxes like income taxes and towards user fees and consumption taxes. The latter will rid us of exemptions and the class warfare rhetoric that income taxes spawn. We shouldn't have an income tax at all. That's how we have to approach it. We concede to much when we point out that the wealthy pay confiscatory taxes. It's theft and it's stupid to punish many of our most productive citizens.
