CAIR Rep Discusses Impact of Muslim Sitcom

They can't have ever watched Little Mosque, because it's not a "new" sitcom, even in 2007 when this was posted, and they're taking the discussed scenes way out of context. The show's far more character-driven than politics-driven, and the issues it tackles are issues that happen to everyone, not just Muslims.

Obviously that talk-show host didn't even watch the damned show. It's not a family moving to the town; the town already has a Muslim community. And the part where the guy was pulled out of the line at the airport was deliberately set up by the writers. The phone conversation he was having with his mother ("Don't put dad on the phone -- it's not like I dropped a bomb on him!") alarmed the woman ahead of him in line. It was a very funny scene and very well-written.

I pray that Muslims will have a full revelation of the true God and His loving character.I pray against the fear that influences many Muslims and that Muslims will also understand that God desires for everyone to know Him as children and not as slaves. I pray for Muslim's to get saved.I also pray that they will experience God's total forgiveness and thus be able to forgive others. Finally I pray that they would know the assurance of salvation through Jesus, something Islam can never offer them.

I don't see how anyone could be infuriated by the sitcom, unless we are talking about somebody who doesn't want others to see muslims as human beings. I think the show is a very positive step in the right direction.

Muslims world over have been condemning terrorism, in fact IN IRAN DURING 9/11, A VIGIL WAS HELD FOR THE VICTIMS, YES! THE SAME PLACE BUSH SAID AN AXIS OF EVIL, hmmmm.

Its in our newspapers, magazines, websites, etc, but the western media doesnt want you to see that, they love to show a guy burning a flag, shouting, etc. The media doesnt want people to see true islam because that would mean more converts, they want the public to hate it, to keep the system corrupt.

@moorejr1400 Although you wrote your comment about a year ago, it is applies today. After 9/11 bush and his administration kept saying that Al-Qaeda was the same thing as Muslim/Islam. No one every corrected them on this. It wasn't until later that the administration finally came out and said we are not at war with Muslims, we are at war with terrorists. That is where this all began. It caused extreme racism and massive mis-information. Thanks for your comment, you hit the nail on the head!

WHAT AN IDIOT!! They only show the part where the cop picks up the guy from the lineup, not the part leading up to that scence (i.e. where the guy is talking to his family about issues, an casually jokes about paradise, blowing things etc.).

This passing of judgment coming from media people who have only seen clips from the show is very interesting. It is generally typical of maintstream US media. One of the main US networks should carry the show, then viewer feedback would tell them whether it was a good thing. In episode 2, there was conflict about whether to erect barriers between the men and women in the mosque using boards from the local hockey rink. Now, you just don't do that to a hockey rink! That's what makes it funny!

I'm not aware of anyone who is infuriated by this sitcom. Once again, MSNBC desparately trying to put a negative spin on anything that has to do with the Muslim faith.  Notice the byline that states "Self-depracating humor seen as a sin by some islamists". Islamists??? I believe the young lady being interviewed is there to promote understanding between religions, which I completely agree with. MSNBC...mutter...mutter...bloo­dy propagandists...
