I havent read the study, but there was alredy rpoven that babies feel empathy, and thats the base of most of our moral laws, it doesnt surprise me much...
You atheistic monster! You even experiment on your own child to prove a point! How does it make you feel now?
Also I noticed that your daughter was cheering you up after you mentioned Brad Pitt. Just as if she tried to communicate you "Don't worry. I think he's hot too" ;)
Oh, and great video by the way. It's a shame I can rate it only once...
Such a skillful parody! Very funny and cute video, lol. :)
9:17, "They are lying." So I, who was raised without religion, and never felt anything inside me like god, am lying?!? I am offended! See, not only the religious can get offended.
I know there is very good reason to dismantle the um.... conceptual frameworks of these people... because there are children and child like people who take them seriously...but it must get really tiresome to pay their ridiculousness much mind...life is so short!
Atheistic ALWAYS mock science when it conforms to Creation, God or the Bible.
It's so obvious! But when it "discovers" something that may favor evolution and the like, they firmly stand behind it. As proven in this video, a 10 minute attempt to poke fun at a scientific study! You missed Patrick!
@emptywithoutjesus Did you see the sheets of paper in my hand? That WAS the study, not the article about the study, not an opinion piece about the study, the ACTUAL study.
Those quotes I used;
"make evolutionary sense", "no divine intervention required",
also direct from the paper cited, which you've just proven you never read. Instead you misreported a highly distorted version of the findings from a tabloid newspaper.
Poor show sir, disappointing even for your already low standards
@emptywithoutjesus Also, my name is not Patrick. Surely a good Christian should be above making back handed, xenophobic/nationalistic slurs, especially since your own grand-father was Irish. Pathetic, sir, both you and your 'arguments', pathetic.
@notinmyname2050 I wasn't calling YOU Patrick. I was referring to the one who risked his life for the people of Ireland as he traveled throughout preaching the gospel.
@emptywithoutjesus You were talking to a semi-mythological persona from 1600 years ago that was referenced nowhere in the video? And you expected anyone else to get that ... how?
@emptywithoutjesus - Science doesn't care about your holy book. Scientists do not care about your holy book.
When you make a claim based on stuff from your holy book and attempt to use science (invariably incorrectly) to back it up - then yes, people will undermine that claim with the proper science.
ps - There was absolutely no reason to reference (St.) Patrick, except as to make a snide insult which you can claim to be under the pretense of talking about a saint.
@Widgetas "ps - There was absolutely no reason to reference (St.) Patrick, except as to make a snide insult which you can claim to be under the pretense of talking about a saint"
@Widgetas Interesting that I finally send you a video response (s), with answered questions and a request for an evolution video and you ignore me. Not that I lose sleep over this, however, you then comment on a video that isn't even yours???
@emptywithoutjesus - 1) The joy of YT is that One can comment on practically any video One wishes to.
You sent me video responses *after* I said "Yeah I think I'm done with being reasonable to you."
The fact that you only responded after I got a bit personal did not go unnoticed. Nor was the fact that you shaved your 18+month old beard clean off after I said you look like Al from Tooltime.
Nor did I lose sleep over your attempts to be rude about me - I did laugh quite a bit though.
@Widgetas "You sent me video responses *after* I said "Yeah I think I'm done with being reasonable to you."
yea, VIDEO response. I sent comments to you first.
"Nor was the fact that you shaved your 18+month old beard clean off after I said you look like Al from Tooltime."
This is hilarious to me on many levels. first, I don't remember you saying that or I just didn't hear it. 2nd, would it really matter? I mean, what? Is the guy NOT good looking? Don't get it.
@emptywithoutjesus - 2) You wonder why I don't respond to the videos you finally got around to making to me... Because you assume I am still interested in what you might have to say.
@brotherjohn77 haha, not at all mate. I have to say you completely had me and a couple of other people I pointed you out to. Don't worry about having outed yourself, there are still people who think Edward Current is Christian.
Thanks for taking the time to make a "pwnage" video debunking me. This is the highest compliment I could have received, I only wish now that I hadn't broken character and outed myself prior to seeing this. Thanks
@bewarethelizards42 I've developed a hypothesis that the squee inducing cuteness of babies is actually an evolutionary self defense mechanism selected for in order to prevent sleep deprived parents from doing any serious damage.
@MinervaInTheBrain Agreed. But thats the only way they can have a debate at all. If they had to stick to demonstrable fact they'd be left with nothing. I have no problem with someone having faith in the intangible, as long as they do not try to mislead people.
@dugges `Well, no more unfair than, say, indoctrinating them in ritual and superstition before they get a chance to learn critical thinking skills. ;p
On a serious note though I never intend on 'bringing her into it' as she grows up. I'll just try my best to encourage curiosity and answer her questions honestly, even if that means saying "I don't know".
Our daughter is 6 months old. She's hardly aware of "being brought into these debates" and as my husband said, we plan to raise her to ask questions and make up her own mind. Even if she disagrees with us. *shrug*
