@Alysh5 As far as i know jon is still alive - his brother criss Oliva and his wife died due to a car accident with a drunk driver - jon Oliva is now plaing in Jon Oliva's Pain - ^^
@Alysh5 This version of Believe is from Edge of Thorns album, a bonus track. The original Believe is from Streets, but THIS SONG is not from that album. So, you're wrong.
@Karazjupa Yes Jon is still alive and with Paul O'Neill is the creative force behind TSO. Criss died in the accident but Dawn survived and died a couple years ago. She was never the same after Criss died.
this version is not from TSO, they started to record the accustic versions of their songs during the warmups. first was sleep ... after its success they put such version as bonus track in all albums for different markets. for example edge of thorns have a different bonus track for japanese market :)
@Kozziegrrl A tribute to their own history, maybe. TSO is the natural evolution of Savatage, them changing their name when they started using singers and musicians that weren't a part of the core band as well.
I like both, but the singer they had sing it years later manages to convey more raw emotion than their Savatage days.
Great band. RIP Criss ...

They're now known as the transsiberian orchestra. And mark wood, their main member, is a badass. I know because I've played with him before

@MG2496 then you would know that he hasnt been with TSO in at least 2 years and is thus not on their newest album "Night Castle"

I'm normally a metal junkie, but I made an exception for Savatage. They're currently known as The TransSiberian Orchestra.

@okkirjadul
This is the original version- the version you hear from TSO is a tribute piece.
Kozziegrrl 1 year ago
@Kozziegrrl The "original" was actually on their Streets album.
