Too many haters! Why do y'all always half to turn everything into a putdown on another band? Don't turn this into an elitist society of douchebags, where only the musically educated are allowed respect. That leads to nothing but division and quarrel within something that should forever remain beautiful and united: we, the appreciators of music.
what i like about Periphery and Bulb is the style and distinction of their playing. Bulb might not have gone to school for music or know a large amount of theory but he writes a lot of music, and while some of it isnt amazing, a lot of it is really good. He also knows how to write songs that flow well not only during the song, but into other ones as well. this band is also really good, and its a little more experimental.
however if you guys want really Jazzy progressive metal you should check out Cynic escpecially their first album from 1993; or 1994, i could be wrong.
@richyboy5678 pretty sure periphery doesn't have piano, sax, or as dense a harmonic apporach as this. it sounds like well thought out music to my ears.
@metaldude1982able well thats really what gives these guys their style, but the clean vocals and some of the chord progressions sound very periphery-esque
@PedSectioned Not to dog on Periphery, because they are one of the best in the the US right now, but Ever Forthright blows every band away right now. All of them majoring in Jazz Studies at SUNY Purchase in New York. Chris studied at Manhattan School of Music. They are all educated, insanely good musicians. Periphery writes what sounds good to them. I prefer EF's way :)
I dont really understand all of the hate. I think this is my favorite Ever Forthright song so far! The intro, while not the greatest, is something I really appreciate. Chris' clean vocals are spectacular, and this song showcase his best clean vocals yet! I say great job to an astoundingly fantastic band and to LOKO for the generous upload.
@arlothellama assuming shit just makes you sound like a retard. Its just my opinion, the drum work is amazing and the more chilled jazzy parts are well constructed BUT in this day and age if the intro doesn't grab you right off the bat the song isn't gonna generate much interest. which is what this band is still trying to do..I'm not just being a dick..also, your pen tricks are really cool
@Niallphillips Ah, I was just kidding, thought it'd be obvious with the obnoxious caps and spelling. You'll find it's best if you take nothing on the internet serious at first.
And nice covers, you seem to play all my favorite stuff: a lil' bit of AAL here, a lil' bit of Andy McKee there, nom sayin'? Awesome stuff man.
thumbs up if you think it's awesome that the uploader's name is "LOKOMETASENJADOTOY" and you know where the joke comes from :D

I came to this band just because Chris was doing vox, and ended up just loving the musical talent from everyone else as well!
