Why is it that the men that fought during ww2 actually seem like, well 'men'? I mean American soldiers during WW2 seem like a totally different breed of human from the Americans 'men' you see these days, same goes for most countries. Men 60 years ago just seem more hardy. Might just be me, but these days a 19 year old is likely to be a keyboard warrior glued to call of duty or what not.

After the Winter War Finland had to be friends with Germans since the Soviet Union was planning another invasion which would have happened without Germany's support.

The world were shocked by the bravery of the Finnish soldiers who were outnumbered and almost didn´t have any tanks or airplanes but the Swede´s sent one third of there air force to Finland along with many firearms and military equipment!

My mother got a medal in this war! (haha. You thought you read wrong here.) Yes because she and many other women in Finland volunteered to live with the soldiers to cook, clean and wash for them! (my mum was about 20.) Her brother was at the front. Became ill in tuberculosis. But survived! (with only one lung.) (he got a medal too.) And they continued to live productive lives long after! (my mum became 84 years old.)
