Does anyone remember the song "Town Crier"? Not the one by Linda Scott. This one began: It's twelve o'clock and not is oh so well, cause I've a story that I have tell.
Every night about this time I tell the world that I'm the Town Crier.........."
I thought Johnny Crawford did it but... I have been looking for this song since 1963!
Isn't this top drawer bubblegum from the early 60s? Wonderfully melodic, from a kid with an instinct for singing. True joy for it, making his young voice an instrument.
Johnny went on to a career in music, and there's no mystery there.
It's the summer of 1962 and we are playing hide-and-go-seek with the girls next door... it never got any better than this...summer in Idaho and this song.
Good record, good voice, I like it. I just thought it was kinda funny to hear that particular phrase in a song. No offense meant. I understand Johnny leads his own dance band these days.
i heard this song when i was like 11 and listening to oldies night on 93Q in syracuse and it stuck in my head i'm 37 now and just hearing it again wow
It's a beautiful song & I don't care if it mentions the boogyman...so, what's wrong with it....It's beautiful song tha ttransports me back to 1962 & I fully enjoy it after so many years...R
Probably the only hit record/hit song from the Top 40 era of rock and roll that had the nerve to include the words "the boogeyman will get you" in the lyrics of any song ever written.
this sounds like doris day

The Justin Beiber of his time. Yeah, he could sing well, despite the trash he was forced to sing.
