I know you've heard it a million times, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for what you did. I'm not a rape victim, thank goodness, but I do know that the possibility of sexual assault is a very real fear for many of us women, & it's often an issue that guys don't seem to really care about since it doesn't affect them on near the same scale as it does us (not to say there aren't male victims; there are!). It's great to hear there are guys out there who recognize that this is a big deal.
It's not just women, it's men who are victims as well, and male victims have it far far worse because they don't have any form of support, and male on male or even female on male sexual abuse where the male is a victim is regarded as a joke to society. There arn't any self help books for male victims, no male victim shelters, no specialist counsellors no nothing. People are more likely to believe female victims and people are more likely to help female victims. Please bear this in mind as well

All survivors of sexual violence are impacted. We live in a society where rape jokes about both men and women are accepted. This has to change, and will eventually. We just all need to support each other.

It's not just women, it's men who are victims as well, and male victims have it far far worse because they don't have any form of support, and male on male or even female on male sexual abuse where the male is a victim is regarded as a joke to society. There arn't any self help books for male victims, no male victim shelters, no specialist counsellors no nothing. People are more likely to believe female victims and people are more likely to help female victims. Please bear this in mind as well

It never happened to me but my friend has a nine year old neighbor and she gets raped by her dad and her mom doesnt do anything cause she is scared that he will kick them out of the house and they wont have a place to live. I feel so sorry for this little girl, about 3 days ago they took her to the hospital cause she had anal damage =(. It makes me so angry. I dont know what the mom is thinking byt i rather be sleeping under a bridge than having my baby raped like that.

I feel a lot of empthy for the women and men who have had such an experience. Rape is a horrific, and evil act of deviance. Thank you DigitalSoul for being an example of what we need more of.
However, I'd like to underscore this point, I don't think we should endorse the idea that it's alcohol or drugs that make ppl into rapists. Let's put the blame where it belongs, shall we? Let's not make excuses for such a disgusting and illegal transgession. You're either are a rapist or you're not. Name it

when i was 13 i was touched very inappropriately by another guy who was my age...he thought it would be cool to try and have sex with me. he almost raped me and i let it happen....im 15 and i go to school with this guy. he is extremely unattractive and every time i look at him i go into a trance and i have a flash back of what he tried to do to me.

@swusysusie I think that you should tell someone. Seeing him everyday is damaging. He needs to know that what he did was very inappropriate.

I'm 11 and learned about this when I was younger and I plan on carrying a gun with me when I get older for protection nothing happened to me and I'm going to be extra careful but my friends mom when she was younger ( I think it was her mom) she was swimming and a sex offender put his hand in her bathing suit then swam away

God bless you. I came close once. I was walking home from a friends house (I know it sounds typical but I swear this is true) I cut through an alleyway next thing I know I was pinned against a wall by someone in black thats all I could tell he unzipped his jeans then mine. I literally saw black I went into a black rage all I remember is my mom saying "It'll be all right hon it'll be all right." Now I can't walk through town at night without a friend or a knife.

I have a friend who was raped when she was 12 by her brother. No one was around to help her. I know the damage it causes for the Victims. She is lucky someone like you came along.

Dude that reminded me of a camp I went to and this girl I knew and still know was there. Well a dude I never met decided he would sweet talk her to go behind a cabin. And me thinking o cool she found a friend who knows what they are up I'll leave them be. Well 1 week later she told me the dude raped her. I was mad I did nothing. So the the next suet came an I saw the dude. I literally beat the crap out of him close to death
