Yes, what a phenomenal player and I'm glad to see a bunch here who weren't born yesterday who realize this. We've had some great teams and players since then but I still think he was the best on the "hot corner." Great to see him here again at the real Yankee Stadium one last time. They never should have traded him.

Between the bat and glove was the best player on 2 championship teams Turned the 78 W.S. around Was captain of the team Most HR american league 3rd baseman and The Yankees never gave him a day what did this guy do to Stienbrenner besides calling him fat. The Yanks give days to everybody and I think every captain but Nettles the forgotten Yankee. Heres to the BEST 3RD BASEMAN IN YANKEE HISTORY (not on roids) real Yankee fans remember!!!

All baseball fans know about Nettles' fantastic plays in the World Series but what always blew me away was Nettles consistently made those plays day after day and year after year in a 162 game season.
