I meant on this particular video of optimus - when he switches to 2.35:1 it just zooms in so some of optimus' upper parts and lower parts are not visible.
Do you mean the top and bottom or left and right? If you mean top and bottom then your movie is 16:9, not 2.35:1. Some are. Dark Knight for example is mostly 2.35:1 but some scenes are shot in imax meaning they are 16:9 (or close to it). Run Ghostbusters and see if it still happens.

But have you noticed that when you zoom to 2.35:1 you actualy lose the egdes of the picture.
