I don't always agree with Harford (i mostly do), but he makes economics fun and brings a bit of humanity to a discipline normally devoid of such things.
Economics as it is usually taught is devoid of it because it long ago stopped taking human action as its focal point in an attempt to ape the method of the natural sciences (and of all of them.. physics) and rely instead on maths to have the appearance of being more "scientific". It is a science but more like biology, and not physics.
