  • Recording in HD requires massive amount of bandwidth and time to render and do the whole works. 5 videos take like all day with a slow computer.

  • @ClassicalSquaresoft ...With a computer in the last like 2 years, it's about a 1:3 ratio of time-to-render. It's not THAT high anymore, relatively speaking.

  • Ummmm what

  • Ok, i have a Hauppauge HD PVR, but i want to record in HD and play on my tube tv (480i) so i can do HD streams or record CoD 4 or anything other than black ops. Is there a way to do that other than buying a 50 dollar adaptor to doen scale it? (im on ps3 btw)

  • @namdude0373 Unfortunately not. You need to send an HD signal through the device, which can't be accepted by your TV. So, you'll need an adapter to re-scale it afterwards.

  • @RoganSarine It stinks that i dont have a HDTV lol :D I found a componet to VGA cable, which ill just use on a old PC monitor which is not in use right now.

  • go and fuck

  • for like 20 bucks more id might as well buy an hd pvr

  • @SteezyEteezy Yes, you probably should if it fits your needs. I have a video on the HD PVR - both of these capture cards have different uses. Granted, it's more like a $100 difference. $99 for platinum vs. $200 for HDPVR.

  • @RoganSarine ohh i looked on amazon that's why, i saw this for like 150..

  • Comment removed

  • I've already bought the Happauge HD PVR, not worth it for me, because I am looking to stream on JTV. Also the AverTV HD DVR I just purchased could not stream as well. I'm wondering, if I buy a dazzle, will I be able to play in HD on my TV with my component cables, and be able to stream in SD with my Yellow Video cable (Idk what those are called :\), and split my sound between the dazzle and my Astro A40 mixamp? Reply ASAP please someone? : )

  • @AggressiveIy You can stream with all of those if you use webcammax.

  • HD PVR ??

  • what about eh dazzle HD Plus?

  • @Oasistudios Again, the point of this is you dont need a PC near consoles. Plus, a webcam you stated the problem... No direct feed recording. Also, they tend to have horrible frame rates.

  • Or you can buy the Hauppauge HD PVR, it is way better then the hava wireless and is much simpler to set up and use.

  • @Adrian7322 Neither of your statements are correct. The HAVA has it's uses for people without PC's near their consoles and still want stellar quality. But, yes, you are right. Hauppauge is better if it works for you.

  • That's rad

  • if u use ethernet can you have the cable going directly into your pc or does it have to go to your router? also since it is going over the internet would it slow your connection?

  • @willman1661 Read the description KKTHXBAI. Depends on your bandwidth.

  • THIS VIDEO = MASSIVE ADVERT

  • @AOm3nBreeze Compressing everything I wanted to say into 10 minutes does that.

  • this is rediculous.

  • so with and xbox you plug the cord from the 360 into the hava input and plug the other composit cables into the output and into your tv??????

  • can you still play on your tv?

or shall you play on monitor :S

  • @cooldreng15 TV

  • @RoganSarine

    Ups i forgot to say

i talk about the non wireless

    is it still on tv?

  • DAZZLE 4 LIFE

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk that

  • Go with the hauppauge way better, you can play and record in HD, plus its not wireless meaning transfering faster, instead of using the wifi

  • @UnF0cuS The transferring faster has no bearing. I have a video about the hauppauge. And this still works for people with a PC no where near their consoles quite well -- for that aspect alone, nothing has replaced it.

  • Your a clown. A HD - PVR records in HD xD

  • @oiFeeeKz Notice when this video was uploaded you clown -- before youtube streamed 720p (also, I have a video on the hauppauge)

  • @RoganSarine Does this unit come with component cables for the Xbox 360? Or, do I have to but component cables for my Xbox 360 to my TV. Also, is this unit almost the same or better than the Hava Titanium HD WIFI. Please respond as soon as you can, I am on the edge whether or not to but this.

  • @codfish97 Video responses AND description FAQ exist for a reason.

  • @RoganSarine Sorry, my computer was running rather slowly so anytime I clicked the button to see the full description, Internet Explorer would stop working. Also, I could not see any video responses.

  • does the platinum work with windows 7 or does the titanium work with windows 7

  • HD PVR?

  • SO MANY IMPUTS Ahhhhhhhh

  • this is old. and outdated. and technology must progress

  • @missle3944 It may be old, but it is not outdatted. The dazzle is out dated. This thing still has it's market because of it's wifi ability. The only thing out dated as the price (since it's nearly doubled). No other capture card requires a PC near your consoles. I have a video for the hauppauge, which, I still think is a more consumer friendly device over BMIP.

  • Blitzbox sucks!!! Get a hauppauge.

  • @Cena9658 I don't have a blitzbox. And I've been trying to get blitzCast to send me a review unit for nearly 3 years now. They explicitly told me they don't have any in stock to give (for 3 years) and don't want their items showcased next to competitors (they'd want a video dedicated to the blitzbox without any form of comparison)

  • i would recommened a better video camera

  • @HamishC64 I have since gotten one, but this video was captured using the Playstation Eye and then editted with horrible Power Director 7 codecs :P I did what I could.

  • It's a hassle to stream with it though

  • what do you mean by VDA composite audio splitters?

  • @Wadderzzz VDA is only used for a dazzle for a clear picture.

  • @RoganSarine so your saying that i could use normal RCA video splitters to split the composite cable in 2

  • @Wadderzzz You don't need splitters for this. But, for the record, normal video splitters would work for anything... But the VDA will keep your picture/recording quality as highest as it can be in terms of crispness and brightness.

  • my ps3 will only work with hdmi, is there any way that i can record with a cheaper method? i dont want to spend a fortune, i would rather just film my tv than pay that much

  • @TheAceofNate Sadly, no. Especially if you play with HDMI. Any good recording equipment will cost you atleast $80 (which, is a pretty standard and reasonable price for any electronics unfortunately).

  • Rogan, great video. Hey, I've heard that the HAVA ony records video on the PC in mpeg2 format? Is this correct or can you select other formats to record in? I would hope so otherwise this presents an application limitation as not all editing software supports mpeg2. Just curious if you knew.

    Thanks!

  • @tomx63 Name me one video program that doesn't support Mp2... mp2 is a standard video format next to mp4 and AVI. And yes, Mp2 is all that it records in.

Sony Vegas, Final Cut, Windows Movie Maker, Power Director 7, Adobe Premiere, Movie Studio, etc. ALL allow you to use Mp2 to edit videos. And, usually, you can install a codec pack to make your software work with anything.

I would have NO idea what software you would be using that would not allow you to use mp2.

  • Black Magic Intensity Pro seems to be the nest capture card in the market right now. Only thing is it doesn't work with laptops.

  • And it requires an insane quad-core computer with raptor or SDD drives to work properly.

  • its doesnt, m computer is dual core 2.4ghz with 2gb ram, eSATA 320gb HDD.

Hardrive is the main thing you need.

  • If your not working with a decent bit rate maybe. That computer, due to the high resolution size, would have a very chuggish editing and rendering experience. I have a BMIP in my other computer.

  • im too poor for this, hahaha

  • This is sooo expensive just to record in SD, i'd be willing to pay this price for recording in HD (pushing it.) Everything is so expensive! The products that record in HD are too expensive for me too. I have a Dazzle capture card which the quality isn't too bad (recorded quality that is.) But the quality on my soon to be wasting away (because i have to play in SD) HD T.V is awful, i can't go back from HD to SD.

Any other cheaper BUT good ideas? Plase help.

  • No. $70-100 is the cheapest you will get.

  • Whats the best for mac users?

  • so the hava basically outputs the hd to your tv while wirelessly sending standard def to your computer for recording?

  • PRecisely

  • @RoganSarine im getting the hava platinum this friday. i was wondering if i wanted to record commentary, do i record commentary after i record my video or do i do it at the same time. i have a mic.

  • You... didn't have to reply down here.

Either works. On the fly can be hard if you arn't good at it -- after the fact can get a little lame because you can't predict commentate or give it any emotion really.

  • @RoganSarine Wait so you mean to say that (unlike Dazzle... grrr) you can record audio from the game and the microphone and the video at the same time? All in one file as opposed to like 3 different files?

  • it uses your wifi... eating up bandwidth... can't use it if I wanna record online play D; ... it will slow it down

  • It doesn't work like that. It uses your wifi, but it does it through your local area network, and does NOT utilize your ISP's upload/download. It will have absolutely no effect on online play.

I FC songs on expert in rock band with the drums regardless of whether I have it plugged in or not with the same calibration settings.

  • So i just bought a hava hd platinum can i record on ps3 if im playing in hdmi?

  • Look at the annotation starting at 0:45 or so.

  • Then, proceed to watch my HD PVR video.

  • HD PVR MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • I have one?

  • ? mark for what ?

  • I was wondering if I interpreted what you were saying right :P Most people yell that and assume I don't have one (even when I have a video on one)

  • ya this vid was the 1st of your videos that i have watched so i didnt know that u had a HD PVR so sorry :)

  • ah, i wish to do play in sd but record in hd. any way of doing that?

  • Not unless you want to pay an absurd amount of money for splitters and downconverters.

  • Too Many Fucking Annotations.

  • Too many questions :P

  • Your terminology is wrong :)

    Oj

  • hmm thats actually pretty cool my capture card is a belkin capture card and comes with the same inputs and outputs but not as maney holes and wires lol :) but nice video :)

  • can u use standard def for that

  • hey how about Hauppauge HD PVR 1212

but i dont know but im using hdmi cable for my system and i had a dazzle and i only have to use componet and play in componet 480 to record, how will i know if this can record in 1080 while it records?

  • It doesn't appear to have a mic input (a google image search seems to corroborate this), so what would you recommend for adding commentary to your recordings given you already have this device?

  • Generally, most recorders don't, The easiest way is to get a cheap laptop or somehow get a computer near you and use a microphone -- preferably, though, you will need to get a noise cancelling microphone if you don't use a headset when gaming.

You can also get a portable audio recorder, I believe from samson, but I can't remember exactly. Basically, you need essentially podcasting equipment.

  • record sound using a mic and a computer while playing?

  • @FRIZZBI07 yeah Im looking for how to do this too

  • The only way you can record an external microphone while using any capture equipment (assuming you want ingame sound) is simply to use a laptop (or a nearby computer) and an external PC microphone.

If your going to do this, make sure your microphone doesn't suck... and preferably that you play with headphones unless you have a noise canceling mic (otherwise you'll piss people off).

Use audacity to record while playing, and in Sony Vegas (or whatever you use) sync the video with the mic audio.

  • lol i know how i was tellign him

  • I use an HDMI for my ps3 and im thinking aboutt getting a recorder. Could i use the HDMI for the TV and the red white & yellow cables for the recorder? Please help.

  • No. Component and optical will give you the exact same picture unless you have a 46" TV or higher.

  • HAVA RULES. just one question. i wanna use this for my ps3 where would the componet cables go?

  • In the input.

  • when i try to record i hit hava pc player on my laptop and it is local hava device not found, can anybody help me

  • Raver get a hd pvr does pretie much same thing but better

  • were the HD port becasue i use an HD cord?

  • You mean HDMI? HDMI isn't the only HD cord in existance. Watch my hauppauge video of why HDMI is dumb.

  • RoganSarine. Do you know where i could get a blitzbox HD-1?

  • Online only.

  • oh. alright thanks.

  • annotations much

  • Got to correct obsolete information, and answer as many questions as I can... It's a little overwhelming to get about 20-25 questions a day.

  • For HAVA Plat I use a CROSSOVER cable which no youtube vids explained (as my router is downstairs).

If ur nowhere near ur router box use a Crossover Cable(NOT an ethernet cable) and its direct recording to laptop or PC, not through ur router.

  • I generally tell people that when the ask.

  • here did u get the crossover cable

  • where did u get the crossovercable

  • Monoprice, or any computer parts retailer.

  • the reason i came on the video was to find out what i need to record my ps3 in sd while im playing in hd and all i got was buy a hava box not a dazzle and i need to buy a special ps3 cable. well yes but what ps3 cable? where do i plug it in on my ps3 or tv? where then to i put the other end in the hava box?

  • I HAD to be general because there are 3 different hava models depending on your setup. I have video responses (albeit, less pretty) saying what you need depending on your unit choice.

And, I'm pretty sure I said component ps3 cable...

  • How dose your computer record video from an internet cable? and what software would I need?

  • Just video editting software.

An internet cable can carry information through it -- much like how you can transfer files over a network through a ethernet cable.

Think of it like playing the video off of someone elses computer at your home from your computer... Except the computer with the video is the HAVA.

  • Wait so u, use standard tv but wen u uppload on youtube it comes out in hd??

  • I have an HDTV... And no, there is no recording device that works like that.

  • sorry but you didnt answer my one question from the other video? the price and where to buy for $70

  • Huh, I guess the price went up to $100 since more people are buying them now.

  • HD PVR? Intensity Pro?

  • Thanks a lot! probably the best video out here....

  • Wait so the HAVA records in SD but you can play in HD?

  • Yes

  • my tv blacks out when i record with the hava hd wireless can u help me

  • Record only?

  • no like when i set everything up

  • video response time...

  • Is zero.

  • I don't mind not playing in HD on a 360/PS3. I rather be playing a video game than to be amazed by amazing graphics.

  • I'd rather have decent to high definition graphics while playing most games, because I can see better.

But, amazing graphics are always nice. (:

  • umm I live in the UK and te HAVA is only avalible in the US :S what can you recommend???

  • HAVA ships anywhere.

  • and plus the only way i can hook that up to my computer is by a enthernet cable? just making sure.

  • Ethernet cable directly into a router.

    OR

Crossover cable directly into a PC.

  • ok so can someone help me out here, i need to make sure, this unit can let me play my xbox 360 in 10800p and let me record in sd? i just need to make sure, cuz i hate this dazzle cuz im playing in 480p :( so please reply! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

  • Component only carries a 1080i signal. Due to HDCP, you will not get anything that allows you to play in the most over rated format, 1080p, unless you wanna spend like 2-3 grand for commercial stuff.

1080p, also, has been proven to be unnoticeable between 720p at any size under 42"... Any size above that is really only fractionally better.

  • and what cables will i need. thanks

  • This.

    Component cables (M-M)

    Console component camples (Proprietry-M)

  • alright i really am not that techy but here is my situation. i use a 50 inch 1080p hdtv with a ps3 connected through hdmi cables. i want something that is low cost but still allows me to record using the hdmi. i really dont care if it records in SD bc i know youtube will break down the quality anyways. what is my best option for under $200 or is there even one.

  • Screw that, Im getting a Hauppage.

  • Go ahead, I promote that too :P It's one o the oth

  • why should i ignore the wireless feature? what will happen if i use it instead of the wired feature? and does this work on any 1998 model computers?

  • I think you mistook what I said.

  • Also, a 1998 computer has the limitation that it's to weak to video edit properly.

  • u can tell you have just made a speech in college.

  • Im casting live on justintv

and right now im using a dazzle dvc100 will the hava be better then the dazzle?

  • Broadcasting will be the same if you know how to compress the video for broadcasts while keeping the quality up by using Adobe Flash Encoder.

You can't increase the visuals with hardware if you use a 3rd party service for broadcasting -- their codecs limit you.

  • but say i cast at 600 kbps with the dazzle and i cast with 600 kbps with the hava. Will the hava be better?

  • No, as I said, hardware will never affect streaming on 3rd party sites because the way they hvae their codecs and bandwidth limitation designed. The only way to get better quality is to run it through software such as ADobe Flash Encoder to reduce file size and increase picture.

  • "keeping the quality up by using Adobe Flash Encoder"

    ???>>>>>>>!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

oh u r the pro then wow

did u ever heard about the adobe premiere encoder which is built in in the software

or discreet cleaner? its also great

adobe flash encoder is the last thing to think about

    nothing personal man

    peace

  • Is why I said "Software such as Adobe Flash Encoder". I don't personally stream very much, so I generally don't have much installed.

  • u need the blitzbox to stream on jtv with FME.

  • correction - the blitzbox lets you stream LIVE on jtv with fme.

fme does not see the hava.

  • FME does not see the HAVA if you do not know what you are doing. While it does not natively support it, you can get around it with perfect results easily -- I just havn't had time to make the video.

In the end, for his question, he was asking if hardware would improve the picture quality which it will not (unless your hardware is broken or damaged).

  • so can i use this capture card with my standard TV?

  • Yup

  • hey can you use this with mac os x

  • Nope.

  • I just wona know can i record with a HDMI cable pluged into my ps3 for HD quality

  • How about you watch the video where I explain that 2 minutes in in both my videos?

  • how about u make it simple and just tell me? does that sounds good???

  • How about you stop being lazy and skip 2 seconds in, kkthxbai.

  • Comment removed

  • You do realize you're only giving my video stats right? I don't really care if your that lazy.

  • u do realize that u have nolife if u comment back

  • Yup, no life what so ever. You do realize your commenting back for no reason? Im commenting back for video stats?

  • whatever kid

  • come on, stop argueing surekill. just give up, and how can you call him a kid, hes most likely olde then you.

  • were i live everyone calls people a kid sry its a habbit

  • I am older then him -- even if he lied about his youtube age which is probable considering his youtube account name.

  • Comment removed

  • Intensity Pro > Hava

    Enough said

  • What product would you recommend for somebody who has a TV with SD, and doesn't want quality reduction while playing like a capture card gives

  • Capture cards generally don't decrease your screen quality if your playing in SD. They are pretty equal across the board -- you may just want hardware rendering capture cards instead of ones that rely on your processor if you have a weaker computer.

If your computer isn't near consoles, HAVA all the way.

  • well my dazzle decreases my screen quality massivley and I have a laptop so distance isnt a problem I just need a capture card that will keep my tv at the same quality that it records in

  • Sorry for the late reply, wasn't alerted to a response.

Well, the cheapest bet you got is getting a HAVA platinum, and setting your consoles up with s-video (for nicer quality in recording/display). You could probably sell the Dazzle for $30-40 and then the difference for the Platinum would only be around $40.

  • I am thinking about recording videogames for the Xbox 360 but I am confused on how to do it. I have a Standard Definition tv and I want to know if u can you record videos in Standard Definition and edit them into High Definition. Is there a software you have to buy to do that? Also OneCrazedGamer uses a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 real-time H.264 video recorder. Is it expensive and do you need an HD TV for it? Also what is the best moviemaking software you would reccomened to edit the videos? Thanks.

  • 1) For all intensive purposes, no. While it's possible, it looks worse than using HQ or it'd require an extra $200 in converters. Just use HQ.

    2) I have a video on the Hauppauge HD PVR -- watch it.

    3) Read the video description.

  • when you record with the blitzbox b1 (not hd) you can record videos in sd and convert them to hq? whats the difference between hd and hq?

  • HQ is basically half the size in resolution, so it's not as crisp as HD.

You can make any SD image HQ, but from what I've seen the HAVA has a better recording image quality. I havn't been able to test it because Blitzcast has a way of never sending me the promotional device they have promised for a year.

  • There are two stand alone Video editing tools that are pretty expensive, but worth it.

    Sony Vegas Series

    Adobe Premier Series

there are others, but these two have got almost everything you need to edit.

If you do buy one of them, make sure its the most recent, and do it from only the Products official websites
