@ShaolinDragon9 They are related but suggesting that decent bands like Immolation 'rip off' black metal is ridiculous...1349 I have found rather dull to be honest (and I guess I tend to avoid anything girly weirdo Frost is involved with these days to be honest)...just because it has a muddier sound than boring mainstream DM like Deicide or Cannibal Corpse (though I admit I do like some cannibal corpse) that does not mean it has anything to do with BM...

@SROCeallaigh yeah black metal is a tough one to get into because of that, if you can take the time to look into the genre though it's very worth it, maybe you should check out Deathspell Omega, Emperor, Summoning, and Watain if your just getting into it :/

@xVictimOfADownx1 love BM and am familiar with all those bands (have not heard deathspell and watain as much though and need to listen to summoning more)...bands that go out of their way to sound raw are often shit, but I do like the unpolished production in black metal, and though there are blackened death metal bands around like behemoth and for a while zyklon, just because some death bands like immolation use a murkier production that does not mean they are black metal too..
