@BonIverGson actually, Tolkien was inspired by the Finnish language when writing the Tengwar language. he was intrigued by the way the language flowed. Sindarin is more closely related to Quenya, so it's roots are tied more in welsh and other languages more than finnish. This is what I've learned from several biographies on Tolkien's creation of his languages, anyway :)
@peacecanhappen27 Quenya is the language of the High Elves, a dead language in The Lord of The Rings. Sindarin is the language of the elves from Loth Lorien.
@peacecanhappen27 This is very true, I think the chronology suggests that Sindarin is heavily influenced by Quenya, much like the language development in our own universe.
Cut a little short, but fantastic! I was in a huge LOTR obsession in seventh grade and memorized this hymn! Thanks for posting!!!

@Itscaj Where did you get finnish from? Not even close, bro.

@BonIverGson Oh yes it is. Tolkien was very interested in Finnish language AND folklore, and even learned to read some in the original language.

@Itscaj, I'm aware of that, however they are still related the same way Latin and French are related.
