well, she definitely went through some shit when she lived in leningrad. there is a reason she had the beliefs she had. she knew what happened when certain programs we set into motion and how a country could easily self-destruct. like her or not, she knew what she was talking about.
I wish she could have taken a walk in my shoes. Until you know what its like to be hated for no reason, i dont think you can really understand what racism feels like.
@ryoshi100 um, she took a walk in your shoes, she did a lot more than that. look up the siege of leningrad. the germans slaughtered 1,000,000 residents of her city because of race. are you serious? why do you think she was so passionate about what happened to this country? she saw what the future could hold if we kept going down a certain path.
@lifemusic1980 No she took a walk down the shoes of a denialist. One who thinks economics can change social status. She thought by changing the definition of racism to include other people who do hold hatred in their hearts, she could just make it all disapear. She was wrong. She was ignorant. She was also a clever biggot.
@CommunityCam lol, talK about being hungry for attention. WOW!! Whats the matter, let me guess, you never met your daddy before and your mom had to sell her pussy in the streets to cloth and feed you.. its ok i get it, you dont have anyone to talk to so youtube has become your last resort to talk to people since you have no one LOL!! . Keep talking you little bitch, keep riding my jock and keep me standing out, make me famous!
@HARRIS2820 Hungry for attention? What the fuck are you talking about you asswipe? I'm not sure what that incoherent blabber was supposed to mean, but in any case, you're only digging yourself an even deeper hole. Also, you've made yourself look like a cowardly little internet warrior. You think you're tough, smart, or funny by saying my mom is a whore? That's what little children do, not adults. Next time your parents let you play on the computer, don't try to argue with big boys, ok?
yeah... what she says here sounds nice, but google her obsession with murderer william edward hickman. rand's ideal man is "born with a wonderful, free, light consciousness -- [resulting from] the absolute lack of social instinct or herd feeling. He does not understand, because he has no organ for understanding, the necessity, meaning, or importance of other people ... Other people do not exist for him and he does not understand why they should." (Journals)
@HARRIS2820 First of all, I'm an atheist. Second of all, you clearly didn't read my comment. Third of all, I don't want to talk to someone who reacts like a child when their feelings are hurt. Talking in all caps doesn't make you any smarter or make your point any more valid. It actually just makes you look retarded, and you are only proving my previous points.
@HARRIS2820 actually saying its religion isnt a form of racism... i have zero issues with muslims and on occasion have looked into islam as i have no religeous ties but yeah...
@CommunityCam THAT RIGHT THERE IS A RACIST STATEMENT, SAYING ITS THEIR RELIGION! FUCK YOU YOU PIECE OF SHIT, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO TALK ABOUT MY RELIGION, SO THE JEW ZIONISTS ARE GOOD PEOPLE!? ZIONISTS ARE NOT AT FAULT AND THEY DO NOTHING WRONG BY MURDERING INNOCENT WOMAN AND CHILDREN IN THE STREETS AND FUCK UP AMERICA WITH THEIR CORRUPT MEDIA!!!?? YOU REALLY NEED TO WAKE UP AND COME INTO REALITY! EITHER YOU ARE JUST STUPID.....OR YOU HATE MUSLIMS....EITHER WAY I WANT TO SAY FUCK YOU!!
@HARRIS2820 A religion is a set of beliefs, not a race. Therefore, there is nothing "racist" about hating a religion. Also, beliefs are not untouchable. If somebody "believes" that it's ok to kill babies, should we not ridicule him for that belief? Should we not make him feel stupid and like an asshole? Beliefs are not something sacred, we can make fun of them all we want. Religion is a BELIEF. I have no problem with Muslims, but I hate their piece of shit religion.
People hate her as a sort of messenger of counter-ideology, her convictions are not set in collectivism or altruism like most value. Life as pursued in the interest of self sounds evil to a person of the usual morality but not in practice, in actuality objectivism influences the way we live without us knowing.
@WarriorOfWriters Well said. Accurate. I don't hate the individual so much so as her overt stance on individualism. Most of us are perfectly content being selfish behind closed doors. lol
@jathanator how could you hate her? She expresses the most realistic and logical philosophies ever corresponded in the history of mankind. Government and supreme powers to inflict mandates have created mass chaos in this world. LOOK AROUND!!!! Only the law matters when someone inflicts unjustified pain on another. Other then that, it is all a bunch of bullshit! Open your eyes.... it will refresh you.
Unjustified pain caused to others via individualism (selfishness) is not punished by the law. Say my right to be selfish directly effects another individual. In turn, that person's entire family is effected negatively (tension, conflict, strife, etc.) The law as it is right now would not punish me for the fallout of my selfishness in that case. So the mandates of govts/powers is not what created chaos in this instance. Selfishness did.
@jathanator You are wrong. She is right, and has an IQ that is double what yours is. You are missing so many components in your argument that I won't even begin to rebuttal. But I will say that no one has the right to your property but you, and the only way that people are hurt by another's selfishness is if there is some type of unjustified power used to help them acquire their wealth that makes the playing field unfair. THAT is her point. All supreme powers NEVER manifested without gov't!
Well, I wasn't trying to formulate an argument. lol
I was just giving a figurative example of law NOT being the source of chaos.
Think about it. Imagine a law being passed, but everyone quietly disregards/ignores it, and carries on business as usual. The law cannot be blamed for anything. lol
Now if law enforcement tries to forcibly impose it to an excessive degree (up to interpretation), then you have chaos.
@jathanator Then what is your measurement threshold of when law is excessive?? We started with small law and small government, NOW LOOK AT US. Her point wasn't that there should be NO law, it was that the only time law enforcement needs be imposed is if someone inflicts harm or unjustified restrain on another FREE citizen. It's like we started as a whole cake (no income taxes, no drug laws, no business regulations) and just beautiful free market. What has government intervention caused?
I hate when the law tries to impose on people's right of choice (i agree with Rand on this). To me, that is excessive. BUT, in the history of the US, the government had to put a restraint on this right so that other free citizens could have their fair shot at the free market. The civil rights era laws for example. It wasnt so much about minorities going to a white restaurant, as it was about them having a fair shot at education and the free market. Yet, Rand would condemn this.
@jathanator yes she would condemn racist laws like affirmative action but she would ALSO condemn racism (and publicly has)! haha.. that is the point. It ALL leads back to government forcing us to live a certain way or imposing laws on us that are out of the realm of their power. Slavery was enforced by government man....
@GetTheFaCtss Well, what matters more with attacking something like racism? Or ANY problem? Condemnation? Or action? "Actions speak louder than words". Since the government had involvement in enforcing slavery and the racist policies accompanying it, why should it not take action to counter its effects? Hence "affirmative action"? lol Should the minorities have just WAITED for racist americans to start liking them? Non-racists saw slavery but didnt act because of views like Rand's.
@CrimsonPhoenix62 The jews during Hitler's reign were the most pathetically spineless sheep in history, doing virtually nothing to protect and defend themselves. To such a degree, in fact, that it still absolutely defies belief. There are times when laws are to be not only broken, but shattered.
@CrimsonPhoenix62 well, yeah. lol i want to know something/someone thoroughly, so as not to hate (or love) in ignorance. im reading Atlas Shrugged right now, Just because I don't like someone/something doesn't mean I'm going to close my mind to understanding them/it, because there may exist things I would agree with them on. Like Rand's stance on Racism. :)
I think that some nations are superior to others. Most people would call that racism but what I'm saying is the environment and society created is inferior. As for race itself, it's part of a person's identity but largely inconsequential regarding intelligience/ capability i.e. a black person has the same potential as a white person if they were raised in the same environment/society and vice versa.
Racism is only BAD, when it is used to suppress or extinct another race. I don't "hate" any race, I just really love my own. I don't wish any race to vanish, i would just like to see my race survive and have control over their own destiny. If this makes me racist, then i am THE big fat racist.
@Alternativeknow Yes you are . I Don't love my "race" , I love all human beings , and I value each person upon her own individual skills and qualities.
@TheSarahmana Good for you!! You sound lovely. I totally understand your perspective and i would have to agree, but i do not wish to see white people extinct. does this make me a bad person?
@Alternativeknow Racism means that you believe that your race is superior. Also, I would like to know more about what you mean by "control their own destiny." If you think about it, it's kinda vague. Who's control? By what means? What is destiny? Why should there even be a destiny? Is destiny divine? Why is it divine or not? Etc...
wow, what a load of BS. An anti-racist speech, that clearly targets a particular race as being racist. Guess which one? The only one she made reference too..."White Trash" 4:55.
This was nothing more than Zionist Jewish propaganda. Reduce pride in ones own race. Divide and conquer. The Melting Pot can only lead to one thing....White extinction. SO to not want a White extinction is racism, while knowingly and willingly supporting Genocide of the white race is not Racism?..and we swallow this shit
Rand is a fucking racist and biggot herself. Watch her phil donahue inteview from the late 70's, she said palastinians are not a civilized group of people and they deserve nothing but fucked up things to happen to them, and that the land should go to the jews. Fuck this bitch and what she thinks she knows, this old bitch is that last person ya'll need to be listening to when it comes to racism......being that she is one herself!
@HARRIS2820 She said nothing racist. Saying Palestinians are not civilized is a true statement, it is their religion/culture which drives them to act that way. Not once did she say their race was responsible.
@1019079 Well maybe they should cooperate if they want their freedom. Need I bring up the example where the Palestinians were offered virtually all the things they wanted (expect for a right of return), and Yasar Arafat refused? The problem with Palestinians is they don't really want peace. I used to believe this, but when I began seeing more and more ridiculous behaviors coming from them, it became clear that they really only wanted the Jews dead. That is why Arafat refused, he wants them dead.
exactly. she is attacking a culture, not a race. attacking a culture is perfectly justifiable in the right circumstance. culturally acceptable =/= moral (case in point, ancient civilizations sacrificing children. I don't care what culture you belong to, that is wrong and always will be wrong)
@CommunityCam Why look at Palestinians as a collective group? Everyone's an individual. Assigning someone to a group by their birthplace and talking negative about that group is at the very heart of racism.
racism is just stupid because we are all human we all breathe and bleed the same and we all must die therefore we are all equal no matter what color a person is. people that use race against someone is a person who has not yet found themselves or either mislead as a youth.. this is coming from a 23yr old Cuban&French mix male..
Racism is in-built, it's humans' natural desire to support & spread genes that are closest to them, that's why people are interested in raising their OWN children & giving the best chances as their children represent genes closest to them so racist BELIEFS are perfectly in line with freedom SO LONG AS people's rights to their life, liberty & property aren't violated but then that should be inviolable in any case
People should have freedom to believe what they want till noone's right are violated
@tjtomkins Racism is built-in just like original ignorance and fostered by low self-esteem. They remedy, however, is not just education. The man who amounts to nothing as an individual clings the identity of a group -- family, race, country -- to try to take on their value.
Her use of the phrase "poor white trash" threw the credibility of her opinion out the window for me. Using slang/derogatory terms in a professional speech or paper will always lose the audience, plus she is supposed to be "above" ignorance explaining how values of racism and feelings of superiority are a negative thing. Using "poor white trash" immediately separated her from a portion of the listeners.
@arenor A woman of her intellect should have better ways of doing it. I'm not very smart and I could easily say, "Poor uneducated White people." "Poor white trash" makes her sound trashy and stuck up.
@EricThe82 All I'm saying is that using derogatory terms is not polite nor respectable no matter who uses them. Don't tell me who I am, you have no idea.
african negross, left to themselves, have made ZERO progress in a billion years. their are NO black geniuses. the only "black" people who exhibit intelligence are half breeds like obama who have some white blood in them. look at rome 2000 years ago vs africa today
"african negross, left to themselves, have made ZERO progress in a billion years"
Well, to be honest, you're the kind of person that is going to help wipe out whites, when people like you take extreme positions of violence, it causes many whites to hate their whiteness & more of them will then be likely to support "multi-culturalism" & intermarry to forsake their "violent whiteness". Way to help *facepalm*
but niggers ARE judged by their values, character, intelligence, etc. its the reason they got labeled and defined as niggers. to dispute this is to defy logic. if niggers werent niggers, the KKK would never have been born out of necessity to combat niggerdom
@fzqlcs so my iq is over 150, and i have an honest character, and never cheat or steal. and my values are to not abuse the system and use drugs and produce mongrel children out of wedlock. so i am an example of a black nigger to you? and ayn rand never built or invented anything. she just took ideas from other men and wrote them down.
@iTROLL9000 Your IQ is over 150? Spelling the word "there" as "their" and writing "i" instead of "I". Also, your sentence structure and choice of words leaves much to be desired. You write like you are an underachieving 4th grader. Please keep posting messages to leave no shadow of a doubt of your IQ level and character.
@Haseeb2 bcoz im 2 lazy to proofread in a fkn joutube comment section. not to mention the typing lag in the comment boxes on hear. hey haseeb, y dont u go ride ur camel off a cliff u sand-nigger?
@fzqlcs and i wonder what your precious ayn rand's opinion would be on donating 1 trillion in tax dollars as aid to africa to support the "starving niggers", when africa is the most fertile continent, and has half the worlds resources and farm land, yet the niggers never learned how to farm or mine in a million years without white intervention.
@fzqlcs meanwhile, white kids in america are starving because the jews bankrupted our currency through the federal reserve, much the same way as they did in germany b4 hitler took power. HMMMM
I support your dislike for Fed BUT....the way Hitler dealt with the economy (specifically) wasn't the best thing, it later led to high inflation because he believed in creating money out of thin air just like the Fed. When someone can create it out of thin air, people being self-interested, they always have the temptation to create more of it & the end-result is always pretty much the same - people are robbed of their purchasing-power thru inflation.
"I watched the "ayn rand israel" video before. What a pathetic woman"
Yeah, funny as hell, here she's telling everyone how "racism is bad & unnatural, etc" & then on that video, she clearly demonstrates how racist she herself is.
Here's the video if anyone else wants to watch it - /watch?v=2uHSv1asFvU
As I've said, it's only natural for "groupist" animals like humans to be on the side of those genetically closer, NOT to say violence is justified tho
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ayn Rand has no character, morals or charisma, she died a bitter lonely alcoholic who tried to break up two marriages, and her books were plagiarized. Hilarious that she would call anyone else a brute, as she was one herself.
@Luckmann Ayn Rand was a great philosopher and you are unable to refute any of what she says. So as with most people who have nothing valid to argue they resort to name calling. It does not surprise me one bit that you have nothing to validate your claim that she is a tool. But she believed in your right to voice your opinion.
It's interesting: the only founding father who refused to own slaves on principle was John Adams, the predecessor of modern conservative values. Remember: the conservatives of the Republican party voted for Civil Rights legislation by a huge margin over liberal Democrats. The African-american vote shifted to democrats due to the Goldwater candidacy. It's a tragedy. Republicans believe in individual freedom, even if it leads to inequality. Democrats believe in collective equality, above freedom.
@wizmindfire you are mistaken in a few points you stated, the northern democrats, along with similar minded republicans, voted on the whole strongly for the civil righs legislation. this was more of a regional and social non-acceptance of african-americans as equals in any way. it was FDR that opend up the sfrian american vote to the democratic party. liberals in the 50's, 60's and early 70's did occupy the republican party as well as conservatives in the democratic party.
Why would people badmouth you? Are people blindly believing in evil? The truth is not found in a sharp tongue, but by controlling yourself so no one gets hurt, it's not true that it's OK to lower the self-esteem of a person just because you can't believe beauty is real. That would take away self-esteem. However, reality is understood as bi-polar, either one or the other, it's not understood by total harsh tongue, you can't call someone stupid just because for example, she isn't sceptical like u.
When she mentions "laissez-faire" capitalism, Rand's concepts completely break down! Laissez-faire capitalism has never existed...anywhere. It is the unicorn of national economics, as in it is pure myth! An economy NOT controlled or directed in some way by a central government has never been. Rand's idea of this is pure foolishness, and those U.S. congressmen who claim to follow her are equally FOOLS! Once again, they fail to see how Rand's Soviet upbringing led to her silly beliefs.
@Bruverlove How did it break down. It is a true statement. All capitalist economies have been influenced one way or another by a government which is what she states and you state as well. People buying and selling goods should not involve a third party unless the two people engaged in the trading appoint someone to mediate between them. Capitalism is the reason you are able to sit in front of your computer and voice your opinion. If there were no interference products are cheaper and better.
The idea that the simplest collective that men might join is "race" is both fundamentally false and naive! Family has long been established as the most basic, social institution and is one that occurs far before "race" in the greater scheme of human evolution.
Make no mistake, Rand creates "race" as the most basic "collective" because it is the grouping she is most comfortable confronting.
SO, my collective and racial mind is one that realizes that here I stand, a landowner "only by DUMB LUCK," and one who realizes that 90% of Mexican landowners lost their land after 1848 and the unrecognized Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo of 1848.
Question two is less a question and more a statement that says: WAKE UP STUPID! Rand was a poor girl, freed from the grips of Soviet Communism who wrote silly stories she thought sounded good in relation to the exact opposite of that context.
@Bruverlove No she did not say that. She is not playing a con game with words. She says what she means. Racial preferences (racism) come from where the environment people are born into. Luck or chance is what determines where a person is born and what system they are born into. People that are taught racial preferences will have a tendency to follow the lead of the norm. The norm is what the "collective" society is practicing. There are people who escape this norm and accomplish good things.
Question one is how do you prove that there is no "collective or racial mind?" I question this because as a mestizo, a "race" that is systematically being eliminated by the U.S. government, I find myself longing for things that do not behoove me in terms of evolution. I love and want prickly pears, “tunas” in our tongue, yet they do not agree with me...as in they (the prickly pears) are tasteless to me and do not serve the purpose to which I might apply them; albeit a European purpose!
@ about 1:59 Yes. it is racist if I support my good-for-nothing relative -.- Please, if you can't tell that I'm sarcastic here, I feel bad for you.
The actions of one man can and most likely WILL damage the moral standing of a family. It's nothing racist on the part of the people covering up a "blemish" caused by a relative. It is racist on the part of the society who can and WILL look at that man's relative and judge the ashamed innocent man based on the other person.
@chriswads well if u understand her "wise words"....then my question to you is" how do you think she would feel"??( bear in mind she is an atheist and bear in my mind her thesis of individualism...just curious what u think? :-)
@chriswads I believe that she, kind of like myself, see homosexuality as part of the reality we live in.
While we can choose to call it "natural" or not, how would I be able to judge what is the right thing to do for you as long as you don't hurt anybody else?
It is an individual choice, and should as such never be prohibited.
@ToxinalX Actually You know what, my bad. When I wrote that I was quite tired (and forgetful) It was not homosexuals she was speaking of in a video I watched - I have not read her material- It was actually women-I remember it was a collective group, Arguing that a woman should not be commander and chief. "it is not in a womans personal interst to rule men" -im trying not to quote mine and I'm only asking-but does this not sound a bit like collectivism? Which she is against? Isnt she?
@chriswads Yes, I as well reacted to hearing her say that... I think she gave a much more personal and less ideologic answer to that question.
She probably still thought that it should be *legal* for women to become Commander In Chief, but knowing herself she knew at least one woman who would not be fit for that kind of a job.
Despite her philosophy, she still made errors and at times she was plain wrong. In short, she continued to be a human being.
@anasthase100 Racism can only be viewed as a defence by the racist himself, as he tries to give himself fictitious importance instead of the knowledge that he really ought to possess.
The irony of so many in this thread completely missing the point about collectivist thinking as demonstrated by their collectivist ideas is hilarious in a makes me want to cry sort of way. Forget genetics, forget statistics, and forget your preconceived notions and you will start to understand the truth. And the truth is if you want to know what to expect of a man you're just going to have to get to know the man.
the field of genetics have exploded since this, so she is definitely wrong about SOME of what she's talking about. For example a person who is genetically designed to produce more testosterone than average would exhibit higher than normal aggression levels. Another: an effect of woman's body chemistry makes it so that the more older brothers you have the more likely you are to have low testosterone and be gay.
A lot is philosophy though. Idealism I would say. Like communism.
@HeavyMetalCanuck Please cite source on the opinions you mentioned. There are no studies to prove that. Testosterone has nothing to do with if a person is aggressive or not. More testosterone means that a person will be hairier and have a higher chance of kidney failure. Testosterone plays no role in if a person is aggressive or gay. If women have alot of testosterone the clitoris is larger and they look more masculine then a women who is producing a small amount. It does not mean she'll be gay
@jackie8mccall research by von Saal and others on rats and mice show that female rodents exposed to higher levels of testosterone in the uterus exhibit reduced activity level, higher frequency of marking enivronment, increased mounting of others*, increased aggression*, and are less attractive to males than control females. Also castration of animals eliminates natural testosterone and over time extinguishes male sexual behaviour. So hormones, which are controlled by genetics, affects behaviour.
@HeavyMetalCanuck: But rodents don't have self awareness and critical thinking. So genetics do not have direct control, they are simply influences, not complete control.
@Deadwind002 We can never really know what rodents think, we can only do experiments to see what they do. But I agree genetics do not have direct control, only partial. Experience and learning also play a role.
@jackie8mccall Also David Puts (2006) et al. found a strong correlation between the number of older brothers a male has, and their probability of being homosexual. They hypothesize that each male increases the mother's body's immunity to Y-gene proteins.
My point is that behaviour isn't all one's own free will. I would argue that free will doesn't even exist, but lets not get in to that. At this point in animal behaviour science it is certain that genetics AND experience control behaviour.
@deadshot666 that's obviously not true. that's like me calling president obama the antichrist. its just another baseless accusation trying to associate negativity with the name
Rand Rules- but I've taken her positions steps further, and my philosophy is necessary to taking this country back. Visit my channel, or thesaneparty d com and join the fight today.
Will SOMEONE who knows something about Ayn Rand please watch the following short video and respond? If you find something wrong, please spell out what it is.
This is one of my favorite articles from Rand. She describes perfectly the philosophical nature of racism.
MrLaughingHeart, I'm a little confused at your assessment of this article being "out of date". Nothing could be further from the truth. The fact that you reference Steven Pinker suggests that you are a determinist. Since you believe character and intelligence is based on chemicals, cells and skin color. Please reconsider your views.
@chigal09 Don't forget stimuli. ;) I Think character and intelligence is based on genetic coding and its reactions to environment. And I never said its based on skin colour specifically so don't use any straw-man arguments with me. You will make yourself look silly.
This is out-dated. Read Steven pinker "the blank slate", Philippe Rushton - "Race, Evolution, And Behavior", Frank Miele - "Intelligence, Race and genetics: Conversations with Arthur Jensen"
Genetics plays a important role in forming one's intellect and character. There is exceptions, but the rule still stands. I'm not defending bigotry or hatred, but denying that genetics plays a role in society is unrealistic. Accept realty, lets respect and help each other.
@MrLaughingHeart What you are defending is eugenics, a fad that went out of style in the 1920's. It is YOU who are outdated, you mystics of muscle who lazily attempt to rationalize the achievements of man's mind as predetermined by whatever his genes were doing in a cave two million years ago.
@Success0527 lol. The conclusion that human achievements came down to a brain, inherited through genetic coding, and how that brain reacts to stimuli, is not lazy. If you have some ground braking info that debunks behavioral genetics; you wouldn't be reading comments. You would be collecting a noble prize. I'm defending truth and that's it. No one should be forced to do anything don't want to do, or have their rights infringed upon. So I'm not supporting eugenics, that's a straw man.
@cbarrett91767 Conservatives fought against civil rights, fought for slavery and are now trying to disenfranchise minority voters. 58% of republicans though Obama wasn't born here because he's black and has a funny name. Conservatives fought against gay marriage, gays in the military and non-discrimination laws. All the racism, prejudice and bigotry seems to fall exclusively on the conservative side of the spectrum.
@Saebeck32 While I don't disagree with you about gay marriage laws, I think you should evaluate your other statements. More Republicans voted for the 64 civil rights act then did democrats and also introduced earlier bills on civil rights that were filibustered by democrats. MLK was a Republican. The KKK was made up of southern democrats and up until his death one year ago the democrats had a sitting senator (robert byrd) who was a former high ranking KKK member.
@Saebeck32 ...and Lincoln was a Republican, so I'm not sure how you say they were pro slavery. Any law that favors one group over another is discriminatory and that is usually what so called "anti discrimination" laws are. They claim to fight the idea of treating people differently based on their skin color.... by treating people differently based on their skin color. You can't fight discrimination with discrimination.
@Saebeck32 There you go, liberal revisionism at its worst. What do you think the tradition of the "Southern Democrat" was, in essence? White liberals have been running a protection racket on the blacks for decades, and thankfully more and more blacks are waking up to it. All liberals talk about is race and sex, then accuse everybody else of being racist and sexist.
@Saebeck32 Do you like looking stupid? Lincoln was the father of the GOP. Most of the country with the highest African populations are Republican. The Democrats created the KKK first to battle Republicans and over 1/3 of their lynchings were Republican whites. Democrats elect KKK members, like Byrd; Al Gore's Democrat father voted against the Civil Rights Act. The Democrats think blacks are so stupid that instead of equality they have to treat us as if we are stupid needing "special rights."
@MrSheniah Lincoln was a liberal. In the 1860's the republican party was the northern liberals and the democrats were the southern conservatives. That's the way it was until the 1960's when JFK, a liberal, championed civil rights. Liberals have always been for progress and conservatives have always opposed it. The parties have flipped over time....or didn't they teach you that at Fox News fantasy camp?
@Saebeck32 The liberal democrats were not Lincolns party.haha. Hilarious! All the KKK ever in politics were former KKK. Democrats are the party of guilt and still racist putting down the blacks as though we need special treatment and not equal treatment. All of the 23 blacks elected to Congress after the civil war were Republicans. Freedom and equality is the cornerstone of Republicans. If you have problem with the facts that still doesn't change the facts.
@MrSheniah You're getting to hung up on the part label. The republican party was the liberal party during the viivl war. The democrats at that time were the conservative racist, who we refer to today as the Fox News Tea Party. How many confederate flags do you see liberals waving today? Conservatives are the racists.
@Saebeck32 Lincoln was a tyrant. He didn't care for the rights of slaves. He just wanted to preserve the Union, so he murdered Americans and jailed journalist. Also the "northern liberals" had slaves as well.
The current democrats are not for liberty but limited freedoms.

@lifemusic1980 No she took a walk down the shoes of a denialist. One who thinks economics can change social status.

Life as pursued in the interest of self sounds evil to a person of the usual morality but not in practice, in actuality objectivism influences the way we live without us knowing.

jathanator 1 month ago
@jathanator how could you hate her? She expresses the most realistic and logical philosophies ever corresponded in the history of mankind. Government and supreme powers to inflict mandates have created mass chaos in this world. LOOK AROUND!!!! Only the law matters when someone inflicts unjustified pain on another. Other then that, it is all a bunch of bullshit! Open your eyes.... it will refresh you.
GetTheFaCtss 1 month ago
Law doesn't create chaos. People do.
Selfishness did.
jathanator 1 month ago
@jathanator You are wrong. She is right, and has an IQ that is double what yours is. You are missing so many components in your argument that I won't even begin to rebuttal. But I will say that no one has the right to your property but you, and the only way that people are hurt by another's selfishness is if there is some type of unjustified power used to help them acquire their wealth that makes the playing field unfair. THAT is her point. All supreme powers NEVER manifested without gov't!
GetTheFaCtss 1 month ago
Well, I wasn't trying to formulate an argument. lol
I was just giving a figurative example of law NOT being the source of chaos.
Think about it. Imagine a law being passed, but everyone quietly disregards/ignores it, and carries on business as usual. The law cannot be blamed for anything. lol
Now if law enforcement tries to forcibly impose it to an excessive degree (up to interpretation), then you have chaos.
jathanator 1 month ago
@jathanator Then what is your measurement threshold of when law is excessive?? We started with small law and small government, NOW LOOK AT US. Her point wasn't that there should be NO law, it was that the only time law enforcement needs be imposed is if someone inflicts harm or unjustified restrain on another FREE citizen. It's like we started as a whole cake (no income taxes, no drug laws, no business regulations) and just beautiful free market. What has government intervention caused?
GetTheFaCtss 1 month ago
I hate when the law tries to impose on people's right of choice (i agree with Rand on this). To me, that is excessive. BUT, in the history of the US, the government had to put a restraint on this right so that other free citizens could have their fair shot at the free market. The civil rights era laws for example. It wasnt so much about minorities going to a white restaurant, as it was about them having a fair shot at education and the free market. Yet, Rand would condemn this.
jathanator 1 month ago
@jathanator yes she would condemn racist laws like affirmative action but she would ALSO condemn racism (and publicly has)! haha.. that is the point. It ALL leads back to government forcing us to live a certain way or imposing laws on us that are out of the realm of their power. Slavery was enforced by government man....
GetTheFaCtss 1 month ago
@GetTheFaCtss Well, what matters more with attacking something like racism? Or ANY problem? Condemnation? Or action? "Actions speak louder than words". Since the government had involvement in enforcing slavery and the racist policies accompanying it, why should it not take action to counter its effects? Hence "affirmative action"? lol Should the minorities have just WAITED for racist americans to start liking them? Non-racists saw slavery but didnt act because of views like Rand's.

I used to believe this, but when I began seeing more and more ridiculous behaviors coming from them, it became clear that they really only wanted the Jews dead. That is why Arafat refused, he wants them dead.

Bruverlove 3 months ago
@Bruverlove How did it break down. It is a true statement. All capitalist economies have been influenced one way or another by a government which is what she states and you state as well. People buying and selling goods should not involve a third party unless the two people engaged in the trading appoint someone to mediate between them. Capitalism is the reason you are able to sit in front of your computer and voice your opinion. If there were no interference products are cheaper and better.
jackie8mccall 2 months ago

Bruverlove 3 months ago
@Bruverlove No she did not say that. She is not playing a con game with words. She says what she means. Racial preferences (racism) come from where the environment people are born into. Luck or chance is what determines where a person is born and what system they are born into. People that are taught racial preferences will have a tendency to follow the lead of the norm. The norm is what the "collective" society is practicing. There are people who escape this norm and accomplish good things.
jackie8mccall 2 months ago
Question one is how do you prove that there is no "collective or racial mind?" I question this because as a mestizo, a "race" that is systematically being eliminated by the U.S. government, I find myself longing for things that do not behoove me in terms of evolution. I love and want prickly pears, “tunas” in our tongue, yet they do not agree with me...as in they (the prickly pears) are tasteless to me and do not serve the purpose to which I might apply them; albeit a European purpose!

ToxinalX 3 months ago
@ToxinalX Actually You know what, my bad. When I wrote that I was quite tired (and forgetful) It was not homosexuals she was speaking of in a video I watched - I have not read her material- It was actually women-I remember it was a collective group, Arguing that a woman should not be commander and chief. "it is not in a womans personal interst to rule men" -im trying not to quote mine and I'm only asking-but does this not sound a bit like collectivism? Which she is against? Isnt she?
chriswads 3 months ago
@chriswads Yes, I as well reacted to hearing her say that... I think she gave a much more personal and less ideologic answer to that question.
She probably still thought that it should be *legal* for women to become Commander In Chief, but knowing herself she knew at least one woman who would not be fit for that kind of a job.
Despite her philosophy, she still made errors and at times she was plain wrong. In short, she continued to be a human being.

@fzqlcs . And what about ignorance of differences between peoples ? Each in its field, and the cows will be well guarded.
anasthase100 3 months ago
@anasthase100 Racism can only be viewed as a defence by the racist himself, as he tries to give himself fictitious importance instead of the knowledge that he really ought to possess.

The irony of so many in this thread completely missing the point about collectivist thinking as demonstrated by their collectivist ideas is hilarious in a makes me want to cry sort of way. Forget genetics, forget statistics, and forget your preconceived notions and you will start to understand the truth. And the truth is if you want to know what to expect of a man you're just going to have to get to know the man.
BlindMaphisto 3 months ago
the field of genetics have exploded since this, so she is definitely wrong about SOME of what she's talking about.
HeavyMetalCanuck 3 months ago
@HeavyMetalCanuck Please cite source on the opinions you mentioned. There are no studies to prove that. Testosterone has nothing to do with if a person is aggressive or not. More testosterone means that a person will be hairier and have a higher chance of kidney failure. Testosterone plays no role in if a person is aggressive or gay. If women have alot of testosterone the clitoris is larger and they look more masculine then a women who is producing a small amount. It does not mean she'll be gay
jackie8mccall 2 months ago
@jackie8mccall research by von Saal and others on rats and mice show that female rodents exposed to higher levels of testosterone in the uterus exhibit reduced activity level, higher frequency of marking enivronment, increased mounting of others*, increased aggression*, and are less attractive to males than control females. Also castration of animals eliminates natural testosterone and over time extinguishes male sexual behaviour. So hormones, which are controlled by genetics, affects behaviour.
HeavyMetalCanuck 2 months ago
@HeavyMetalCanuck: But rodents don't have self awareness and critical thinking. So genetics do not have direct control, they are simply influences, not complete control.
Deadwind002 2 months ago
@Deadwind002 We can never really know what rodents think, we can only do experiments to see what they do. But I agree genetics do not have direct control, only partial. Experience and learning also play a role.
HeavyMetalCanuck 2 months ago
@jackie8mccall Also David Puts (2006) et al. found a strong correlation between the number of older brothers a male has, and their probability of being homosexual. They hypothesize that each male increases the mother's body's immunity to Y-gene proteins.
My point is that behaviour isn't all one's own free will. I would argue that free will doesn't even exist, but lets not get in to that. At this point in animal behaviour science it is certain that genetics AND experience control behaviour.

But founding a state basing on race is legitimate, what a hypocrisy.

MrLaughingHeart 4 months ago
This is out-dated. Read Steven pinker "the blank slate", Philippe Rushton - "Race, Evolution, And Behavior", Frank Miele - "Intelligence, Race and genetics: Conversations with Arthur Jensen"
Genetics plays a important role in forming one's intellect and character. There is exceptions, but the rule still stands. I'm not defending bigotry or hatred, but denying that genetics plays a role in society is unrealistic. Accept realty, lets respect and help each other.
MrLaughingHeart 4 months ago
@MrLaughingHeart What you are defending is eugenics, a fad that went out of style in the 1920's. It is YOU who are outdated, you mystics of muscle who lazily attempt to rationalize the achievements of man's mind as predetermined by whatever his genes were doing in a cave two million years ago.
Success0527 4 months ago
@Success0527 lol. The conclusion that human achievements came down to a brain, inherited through genetic coding, and how that brain reacts to stimuli, is not lazy. If you have some ground braking info that debunks behavioral genetics; you wouldn't be reading comments. You would be collecting a noble prize. I'm defending truth and that's it. No one should be forced to do anything don't want to do, or have their rights infringed upon. So I'm not supporting eugenics, that's a straw man.

Why are the conservatives the racists then? Did they miss Rand's little lecture here?

cbarrett91767 4 months ago
@cbarrett91767 Conservatives fought against civil rights, fought for slavery and are now trying to disenfranchise minority voters. 58% of republicans though Obama wasn't born here because he's black and has a funny name. Conservatives fought against gay marriage, gays in the military and non-discrimination laws. All the racism, prejudice and bigotry seems to fall exclusively on the conservative side of the spectrum.
Saebeck32 4 months ago
@Saebeck32 While I don't disagree with you about gay marriage laws, I think you should evaluate your other statements. More Republicans voted for the 64 civil rights act then did democrats and also introduced earlier bills on civil rights that were filibustered by democrats. MLK was a Republican. The KKK was made up of southern democrats and up until his death one year ago the democrats had a sitting senator (robert byrd) who was a former high ranking KKK member.
GooseyDusty 4 months ago
@Saebeck32 ...and Lincoln was a Republican, so I'm not sure how you say they were pro slavery. Any law that favors one group over another is discriminatory and that is usually what so called "anti discrimination" laws are. They claim to fight the idea of treating people differently based on their skin color.... by treating people differently based on their skin color. You can't fight discrimination with discrimination.
GooseyDusty 4 months ago
@Saebeck32 There you go, liberal revisionism at its worst. What do you think the tradition of the "Southern Democrat" was, in essence? White liberals have been running a protection racket on the blacks for decades, and thankfully more and more blacks are waking up to it. All liberals talk about is race and sex, then accuse everybody else of being racist and sexist.
Success0527 4 months ago
@Success0527 The southern democrat was a conservative. Lincoln was a norther liberal.
Saebeck32 4 months ago
@Saebeck32 Do you like looking stupid? Lincoln was the father of the GOP. Most of the country with the highest African populations are Republican. The Democrats created the KKK first to battle Republicans and over 1/3 of their lynchings were Republican whites. Democrats elect KKK members, like Byrd; Al Gore's Democrat father voted against the Civil Rights Act. The Democrats think blacks are so stupid that instead of equality they have to treat us as if we are stupid needing "special rights."
MrSheniah 4 months ago
@MrSheniah Lincoln was a liberal. In the 1860's the republican party was the northern liberals and the democrats were the southern conservatives. That's the way it was until the 1960's when JFK, a liberal, championed civil rights. Liberals have always been for progress and conservatives have always opposed it. The parties have flipped over time....or didn't they teach you that at Fox News fantasy camp?
Saebeck32 4 months ago 15
@Saebeck32 The liberal democrats were not Lincolns party.haha. Hilarious! All the KKK ever in politics were former KKK. Democrats are the party of guilt and still racist putting down the blacks as though we need special treatment and not equal treatment. All of the 23 blacks elected to Congress after the civil war were Republicans. Freedom and equality is the cornerstone of Republicans. If you have problem with the facts that still doesn't change the facts.
MrSheniah 4 months ago
@MrSheniah KKK members all democRats. They lack family values and equality something important to the black community and the republicans..
MrSheniah 4 months ago
@MrSheniah You're getting to hung up on the part label. The republican party was the liberal party during the viivl war. The democrats at that time were the conservative racist, who we refer to today as the Fox News Tea Party. How many confederate flags do you see liberals waving today? Conservatives are the racists.
Saebeck32 4 months ago
@Saebeck32 Lincoln was a tyrant. He didn't care for the rights of slaves. He just wanted to preserve the Union, so he murdered Americans and jailed journalist. Also the "northern liberals" had slaves as well.
The current democrats are not for liberty but limited freedoms.
