  • There is no single way to prevent autism. Breastfeeding is simply a smart idea. I think this is all the video is trying to say.

  • I have a 7 yr old with aspergers and I breast feed her until she was 4 yr old, and my 2nd daughter has austism too and I breast feed her until she was 2 and you are going to tell me that breastfeeding is going to prevent autism, I don't think so. I will always believe that autism is a reaction to vaccines.

  • @lisam2584 I think you missed my point. No one is saying that breastfeeding will 100% prevent autism. I am saying that breastfeeding will LOWER the risk....with all respect to you, vaccines are NOT the only cause of Autistic Spectrum Disorders. They may be in the case of your children (along with other triggering factors such as early antibiotic exposure, family history of autoimmune disease, low Vitamin D levels etc.). The take-away message is Breastfeeding is BEST for baby & lowers risk ofASDs

  • What made you stop at only 6 weeks, WHO (world health organization) recommends 6 months at the very least.

  • @MsSunshinegal27 I hope I didn't mis-speak and say 6 weeks :( 6 months is a bare minimum to do. 12 to 18 months is better.

  • I have a 3 yr old with severe autism, (completly non-verbal) and i breastfed him for the first 6 weeks :(

  • great video... really helped me in my research paper. Thanks Dr.
