I agree tho - the series is very technical. I'm lucky in that I can follow and play some of the stuff, but I can't imagine it being accessible for younger players. It certainly would be inspirational though...

PS. I own half of the albums Morgan brought up as "suggested listening". Good to know I was on the right track!

The fun thing with the Trum (Drum) series was that is was ment to appeal to young musicians and children that want to start playing music. Like, no one understod what the hell was going on, parents wrote letters saying comlaining about the level of the exercises (really fast 7/16 rhythms and complex coordination stuff). The guy who interviewed Morgan really had no clue, hilarious :)

jimmy ågren has released two records. He has been with his brother (the drummer) on several records with "mats & morgan" or "mats & morgan band". If you like the sound, try out the Frank Zappa album, where he plays with captain beefheart. The records name is "bongo fury" its great, these guys got alot of influences from them.
