As long as you know your stuff, your not a shit bag, and flight companies have slots you can go and be a crewchief. I was a 15T in Aco 5/101st. Real good times! Good luck.

@badgerallen Hi. I'm a 15Z5M. That's an Aviation Senior Sergeant. If you want to do this you have to make sure that you either get 15T or you could even go 15U and do the same thing. I'm an old 15R Apache guy and though I love the Apaches I always hated not getting to fly. You will like 15T. I have a bunch of great Soldiers that work for me and the job is rewarding and challenging. I recommend that you look at colleges such as Embry-Riddle and work on getting your A&P license also.

@Airshow2010 Actually, the m240 is 7.62 which is the same as the M60. So the bullets cost the same. And the M60 fires at around 600 RPM attached to a helo with box mag. While the M240 can top out at 1000 RPM, you can slow it down to 650. Which is close of that of the M60. Which is more than likely what they did here IF IT WAS A M240. But this is obviously not. And tax money? A couple hundred rounds 7.62 is like 80-100 bucks CIVILIAN. Your tax money paid for the gas in a chopper, IN DESERT STORM!
