It's a balance thing. Akuma is not designed to turtle. He is designed to beat your ass. So he is very powerful, but in turn has lower HP than others..

I hate fighting Bison. Stats say its an even match but I don't buy it. He has the edge in a lot of things, a lot of his moves can't be punished unless they're too close and on top of that he deals massive (comparative) chip damage to his unanswerable moves.

His EX stomp is pretty much unstoppable and does stupidly ridiculous damage regardless of were the opponents life bar is (no damaging scaling since its a one hit move). Look how much damage it did at the end of the match - thats absurd.
