  • im sick of all these dillusional lakers fans not giving my detroit pistons props. its been 8 years and ppl r still talkin abt blah blah blah malone was hurt, shaq was fat whatever! they got beat by a BETTER TEAM. det played team ball and excellent defense. just give it up. the better TEAM won. one man being hurt doesnt change anything. for that series it felt like the city came together. no crime and old and young ppl were celebrating. my fav sports memory ever.

  • It's true. Whatever MJ had Kobe has that "it". It has been proven throughout his career. I'm not saying Kobe is better I'm just saying at the end of his career haters have to admit this is one bad mutha f----!

  • Jordan had slightly more athleticism, bigger hands, and due to circumstances figured out the difference between scoring the most points as a player and winning the most games as a team. Kobe Bryant is an obsessive Jordan fan who developed himself into the most prolific perimeter scorer the game's ever seen, but like a kid who watches tapes and copies what he sees, he ultimately never really mastered out the hows and whys of Jordan's game. He was like a Jordan jukebox set on random play.

  • kobe in 2004 season averaged 21ppg and 42% in the pre season, but he averaged 27ppg and 45% in the post season, does anyone know why kobe was so bad in the pre season???

  • kobe in 2004 season averaged 21ppg and 42% in the pre season, but he averaged 27ppg and 45% in the post season, does anyone know why kobe was so bad in the pre season???

  • Kobe's only good game in the entire series. Guess Kobe forgot about #34 after this game, heard he was pretty good. First of all, Kobe will be a top 10 player of all-time when he retires, but damn Kobe ruined a dynasty and prob won't win another championship b/c Phil retired and got Mike 'Exaggerated Expression' Brown instead. Good luck LA, you'll need it.

  • 4:49

Phil Jackson was like, "Oh yeah, he did it again. Nothin' special."

  • .-Mane you need ta kill dat shit, when Kobe hit that shot in this game, that was all that mattered, yeah they lost, but it's dah same with the heat in 2011, they weer good, but lost to a worse team, just didn't take care of buisness. . dam. .

  • too bad they lost in the end

  • No way the biggest reason was Kobe and Old teammates vs a younger Detroit team with 4 all stars

  • KOBE IS THE BEST

  • the rape trial screwed with kobes head that yr, he was only focused on hearing dates

  • did Phil say "got it" to Hamblen on 4:50?

  • Kobe was the regular season MVP this season sadly though, the pistons were a better team in the finals.

  • @F2125524 ....no.....kobe was not mvp in 2004.....kevin garnett was

  • @shaqpopcorn34 i know i was be sarcastic the fact kobe bryant has a single mvp is a disgrace to the game.

  • kobe shouldve been mvp of his finals had they won, and probably the 02 finals...

  • @lorenllbj88 I don't like Shaq, but the dude had 36 points per game against the Nets in 2002, come on, he was the MVP that series...and in 2004, LA had no chance

  • @lorenllbj88 ....please punch yourself in the face for saying kobe should have been mvp of the 2002 finals...or the 04 finals if lakes won....

shaq- 36.3 ppg in 2002 finals....kobe has NEVER averaged that much in any series in his entire career...

and 2004 vs detroit?...kobe and kobe alone lost the series...

    shaq- 133 pts on 53-84 .631% in 04 finals

    kobe- 113 pts on 43-113 .381% in 04 finals...

KOBE- 20.0 ppg on 29-86 .337% in the lakers 4 losses in the 04 finals....a true choker

  • Had the lakers played like they did in OT with a healthy karl malone they wouldve faired better in the series..all they had to do as keep attacking the basket

  • GARY PEYTON WAS NOTHING BUT SMUSH PARKER THAT YEAR, MALONE WAS INJURED, KOBE WAS FACING JAIL TIME AND THE BENCH WAS PITIFUL!!! lAKERS RELEASED HORRY THE YEAR BEFORE HE WOULD HAVE HELPED US!!! BILLUPS MADE PEYTON HIS BITCH AND THE TWO WALLACE'S WERE AMAZING!!!

  • Is that Doc Rivers i hear commentating??

  • it's a shame we lost that series hopefully we can repeat as champs this year

  • man why doesn't kobe get up like that no more. i get it, older and wiser player but still wanna see him go up and dunk hard once in a while. he hasn't done a 360 in 2 years :(

  • @Bryant101Mamba not defending him so much but this season, nothing but problems for him and he still played as much as he could. Broken finger on the shooting hand, his ankle sprain, and back spasms... and I believe I've seen a 360 from him this year, was thinking vs the bobcats at least... and I've seen he's done a reverse double clutch dunk... that's just as hard I'd think?

  • Kobe is the greatest player to ever play this game.

  • lakers didnt win bekuz malone's injury...shaq and kobe were puttin up numbers but the rest of the team shut down and no bench...shit fuck the haters we still got 15 banners and counting

  • Kobe is amazing but in this series he killed them not enough passing like he does now

  • Does this guy know that Kobe was horrible during the 04 Finals, I mean he's one of the main reasons we lost that Finals. Fat Shaq and old Gary Payton/Karl Malone were the other reasons.

  • the main reason was Malone's injury...he did all the little things and without him we were not the same team.

L.A started the 04 season with 18-3 record but then Malone injured himself and we struggled the remaining of the year.

That's why I don't agree with all the medias that said the 04 Laker team was a failure...the only reason we didn't win the title was Malone's injury.

  • That's a very good point and Kobe was fantastic in this game, however he had an unbelievably bad streak of poor shot selection and ball hogging throughout the rest of the series. Now the fact that Malone was hurt, Shaq was well (fat unispired, lazy, and completely out-of-shape), and Gary Payton was honestly not very effective, these things may have led Kobe to believe that he needed to be the leader on the team. He actually matured through this series and that is why the Lake Show are champions.

  • Man I just wish that Kobe had been more willing to give Rick Fox, and Fisher some more oppurtuinities. Hey man we could have played the Celtics in these Finals had it not been for the Pistons in a great ECF. This and 06 were really fluky years where these teams weren't all that good. 06 is really tainted and 05 just depresses me. That was a sad, sad year to be a Lakers or Yankees fan (I shed a tear for the downfall of two great dynasties after 2004). But guess what both are back this year!!!!!!!

  • that but kobe was awful that series overall he shot 35% from the field im a huge kobe fan but he was a big reason too but the lakers chemistry at the time just wasnt on point

  • I just remember Gary Payton being awful when he was with us.

  • i am agree witg you

  • @mamba9381 what is song played at 7.26 to 7.32??

  • @mamba9381 Your season can't depend on the health of a 40 years old man. No, I disagree, Karl Malone wasn't the only cause. That lakers team was way overrated.

  • @mamba9381

thats not true . kobe pathetic performance and "im gonna be the finals mvp hero not shaq" mental mode he had from game 1-5 in this series a-r-e the major reasons why they lakers couldn't make the series competitive with close scores.

kobe ego didn't let him feed the ball down to shaq who was simply better on offense. even if hamilton and prince locked him down he continued to brick shots and destroy any team triangle ofeense and rhythm.

  • @mamba9381 Malone's injury was a small part, but didn't the Lakers have 3 more HOF players?? Payton, Shaq, and Bryant. Fisher wasn't too shabby either, and the bench was deep as well. I don't know, Lakers were loaded that year and was being coached by P. Jackson.

  • @mamba9381 That's gotta be the biggest homer comment I've ever seen. Who cares about the Lakers' record for the rest of the year? Their record was still 56-26 by the end of the season. And they were in the finals, in which Kobe's averages were 22.6 PPG, 4.4 APG, 3.6 TO, only 2.8 RPG, shooting only .381 from the field! Those are horrible statistics for anyone, let alone a player of kobe's skill level. Tayshaun Prince (+Ben Wallace's interior D) shut him down for 4 of the 5 games in the series.

  • @mamba9381 I agree with the Malone statement. This Piston team was one of if not the greatest defensive team ever and Kobe wasn't in his normal prime to go up against it. Obviosly he had his rape charge that year and lost TONS of weight. Then lets be honest.. Can a team really win when they aren't getting along? Plus no matter how bad they were at offense, L.A. should have countered it with defense. Payton being a liability on defense was also a good reason they lost.

  • @LKD234 Agree! Kobe is amazing but he needs to trust his team mates more

  • 1:43-1:48 HOLY SHI*

  • i like how payton didn't do shit for this team, he took a spot away from someone who could actually make an impact, i blame the loss on him

  • LmaO your right though he didnt do not a dam thing for us, he just made the team sound good for the quad squad Lol

  • Why did drama had to come between these guys why? we had a beautiful thing going and this drama fucked up the whole team we could if have been champs in 04' but went to detroit.

but you know what i'm glad drama left l.a now he has choke every team like phoenix-miami now the cavs watch! you know i'm talkin about?

  • You shut the hell up sir. Nobody makes Kobe their bitch. Employee number 8 has arrived for work.

  • Last Win 4 that season

  • nutin but net....Kobe is god

  • its amazing game!!! kobe is best!

  • I was 12 years old when this happened.AMAZING HAPPENED THAT NIGHT....Thank you Kobe for this performance at least...GO LAKERS 4 EVER

  • 2:09

    "Nope"

You can't say Kobe didn't lock down Rip Hamilton.

  • i was in 6th grade wen this happened....i was a witeness...

  • yea me too

  • guys remeber the lakers bench sucked in this seris=es if you notice every time shaq went out the pistons ruled the paint without rick fox or harace grant they had no backup bigman for shaq

  • hahahahaha "ooohhooo baby!!" 4:12

doc rivers sukd announcing, w/ all his pointless stuff, "he has it!!!" and everything else

  • he still called it the biggest shot he ever hit even though they got their butts whipped?

  • it mustve been rite after this game before the next 3 losses

  • what a memorable shot. phenomenal

  • kobe was amazing this game, but it was really his only good one of the series. the other games he shot horrible %'s while taking horrific shots. but for this game, he had it going on.

  • These announcers sucked ass. Lmao@Phil at 4:51-4:57

  • going to commercials, theirs this good song that comes out around 2:41, anyone know the name of the song?

  • going to commercials, theirs this good song that comes out around 2:41, anyone know the name of the song?

  • let's get loud - jennifer lopez

  • there was a really great song at 7:15. does anyone know what that song was???

  • hey dude its rubber band man by T.I.

  • who won the championship?

  • Comment removed

  • This was the year that the Lakers shifted from Shaq's team to Kobe's team. Shaq could not come to this realization and left.

  • you see how kobe was so much better wen shaq wus around

  • No, Kobe's still as good, if not better than he used to be..

Shaq is a different story though.

  • why dont u foul Rip???

  • "He Has The Ability To Make Big Shots".....one of the most memorable quotes in NBA Finals History.

  • I don't think its one of the more memorable quotes at all, but it is a very true statement.

  • Man I wish they wouldve beaten Detroit, Slava sucked it up against Rasheed. I wish Malone had been healthy and Fisher had started instead of Payton.

  • the reason the lakers lost is becuz malone was getting owned by rasheed and then got injured. shaq was owned by ben wallace. and kobe wasnt as eruptive as he used to be.

  • no because kobe took all the shots and tayshaun locked him down

  • I watched this game live in the early morning or at night in hungary, where the interwiew was a little bit longer. Kobe said in the interwiew: IT'S GONNA BE A DOG-FIGHT, NOBODY THINKS IT WILL BE EASY AND IT WILL BE 4-2....... SO THEY THOUGHT THE SERIES WILL BE 4-2 TO LAKERS. HE WAS WRONG UNFORTUNATELY........... GO LAKERS GO THERE ARE LAKER FANS IN HUNGARY, TOO. GO KOBE YOU ARE THE BEST

  • I can Think of 1 man: MICHEAL JORDAN!!! THE ANNOUNCER SAD IT, IN THIS GAME KOBE WAS ON THE SAME LEVEL LIKE MICHEAL JORDAN.JUST A FEW PLAYER CAN BE ON THE SAME LEVEL LIKE MJ, MAYBE WADE IN THE 2006 FINALS. I KNOW THAT KOBE WAS ONLY GOOD IN GAME 2 BUT HE DID IT AT LEAST TO SAVE THE SECOND GAME . WITHOUT KOBE'S PERFORMANCE, LAKERS WOULD HAVE BEEN SWEPT IN 2004 FINALS. LAKERS DYNASTY R.I.P. GO LAKERS GO

  • omg utfanatic2000 can u like stop with all the jordan kobe stat stuff? cant u see ppl jsut admire kobe and even though im a big kobe fan even i dont think kobe is better than jordan but still for the kobe fans who do think he is better, u dont have to like argue with them.........uve been arguing like in evey single kobe video

  • Can I stop stating reality? Sure, when Kobe fans stop posting lies and misinformation.

  • 81 point game, 4 straight 50+ point games (only wilt),scored 225 points in 4 games, averaged 53.6 ppg during a 5 game span shooting over 50%, he had 60 points and 50 points within 24 hours of eachother, and other games with: 62 points in 3 quarters, 56 in 3 quarters(when he was 22), 48 in one half(against mjs wizards), 55 in one half (81 point game), streak of 9 consecutive 40+ games (tied jordan), nba record 12 3 pointers in one game

  • I don't think anyone has ever said that Kobe has never accomplished anything in his career or that he completely sucks. He obvioulsy is enormously talented individually and is an all time great. His accomplishments, accolades, stats, records, rings, and impact on the game simply fall short of Jordan's, amongst others. That's why nba scouts had him ranked #15 all time as of the end of last season.

  • hey ufanatic u should change ur name to kobehater2000!!! i think it would reflect more of u!!

  • Actually kid, I don't hate Kobe, I have him top 20 all time. I simply live in reality, where Kobe is nowhere as good as Jordan.

  • Kobe Bryant is Michael Jordan reencarnated. He is just as good a player (offensively and defensively) as Jordan was, he just hasn't been able to accomplish the things jordan accomplish.

  • how could you be so nieve, how can so many people be so nieve. Kobe Bryant will not ever come close to Michael Jordan.

  • you seem to be the nieve one. I bet they got you to buy all the air jordan's sneakers. LOL you kids. Anyone who watches basketball knows that he is it. He is dominant in the most talented era of basketball.

  • KObe Bryant is the only player now, who can be mentioned on the same level where Micheal Jordan was. If youare curious for my opinion, I would say, that Kobe is better individually, than Micheal was.Just look at his fake-s , tricks and hard working force. GO KOBE GO LAKERS GO 4EVER

  • Actually, no, a number of players are mentioned with MJ far before Kobe. NBA scouts only had KB ranked #15 all time as of the end of last season. He is nowhere close to the greatest ever or even 2nd best.

  • fuck you

  • Fuck you. :) Truth is truth....

  • Jordan himself says Kobe is the best in the league right now. So does Lebrick Shames, Amare, dirk, tmac, popovich, pat riley etc all say Kobe is the best in the league.

  • I'm not talking about best in the league right now, I'm talking about best ever. Kobe is great, but can't be considered GOAT or even in the discussion yet.

  • nice nickname for lebron.

  • Even phil jackson said they were pretty close....he coached the two of them. I'm sure he would know and this would be an unbiased opinion, considering the fact that he bashed him in his autobiography and Jordan is still a friend of Phil' and revered as God by many, but the truth is, the difference is that Jordan has won more, with his team, and he was unanimously loved. I still say Jordan was better, but I wouldn't say a hell of a lot better.

  • he didnt bash ko in the last season book, he just talked about their troubles.

    but jordan is slightly betr

  • @akinbial what about the fact that Kobe shoots a career percentage of 45%? compared to jordan, he's Much less efficient, which is why Kobe has always needed a big man who shoots consistently over 50% (shaq was around 60%) while Jordan could do it by himself. Kobe's skill set is probably more polished than Jordan's, and they both have that insane inner drive, but Jordan was by far better than Kobe in terms of shooting consistency. I dont get how you can compare a volume shooter like kobe to MJ

  • @TheAssgas Jordan could not do it by himself. He had Scottie Pippen who is one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. How good were the bulls without him. in their first year without him they won 55 games during the regualr season. In mj 6 championships he played with 3 hall of famers. Rodman was a rebounding machine, Pippen was solid, kukoc was solid, Steve Kerr was the most aaccurate 3 point shooter in NBA HISTORY mj had a great team around him. Jordan could not do it by himself.

  • @TheAssgas Rodman led the league in rebounding 10 years. He was a two time defensive player of the year. When Jordan retired after their first 3peat the bulls won nearly 60 games in their first season without him. Proof that Jordan played with an amazing tream. Only a fool would say that he did t on his own. Steve Kerr made 45.4% of the 3ptrs.. Which is an NBA RECORD. Paxson was a clutch shooter. HoraceGrant was a decent player who made over 55% of shots in 1990, 58% in 91, and 51% in 92.

  • @akinbial correction rodman led the league in rebounding 7 years from 1992 to 1998. He was also 7x all defensive first team. yeeeeah Theassgas jordan did IT ALLLL BY HIMSELF.

  • @TheAssgas what exactly do you mean by a volume shooter. Do you know that jordan has led the league 9 times in field goals attempted whereas Kobe only twice. Kobe shot 45.5% from the field as opposed to Jordan 47.7%. Kobe does sometimes have bad shooting games but his overall average is still 46% from the field.

  • @akinbial correction jordan 49.7 typo

  • @TheAssgas Kobe just has a bad shot selection

  • kobe is the greatest, but the lakers got OWNED in this series--[MAJOR PISTONS AND KOBE FAN]

  • those purple socks made everyones legs look skinny.

  • hahaha listen for the *O*

  • 1:44.....whooaaaa, Face Nigga !

  • Tayshaun got boned at 2:17

  • GO KOBE

  • JEE....Kobe is the bestI don't know how it is possible to hate him............GO KOB

  • yes i think that Lebron never be Kobe Bryant too, but and Kobe never be Michael Jordan, because its late to be, he is great player, very great , he is my favorite player in nba, and i think he is the best today, but he may be greatest at his day biu till his end, like mike, to be in the same league with him.

  • jeah, one of the differences between him and MJ,is that he is in WEST while MJ was in East. In the finals it is a little bit easier to cope with the problems and the thing which come. GO KOBE GO TO EAST GO LAKERS GO KOBE

  • the east was good back than you dumb fuck. in the 80s and 90s u had the pistons celtics cavs knicks orlando with shaq hawks. nba was tougher back than defense was 10000 times more aggresive. in my opinion i dont think you know what your talking about

  • they changed the rules cuz defense was so good in the late 90's

  • kobe needed a third scorer shaq had it in da paint but nobody else step up and gave shaq and kobe some help and if kobe was in da east he could take a team to da finals

  • bruce, take into account Kobe didnt practice that season because he was on the flight to colorado for the trial all the time.

  • A great game is not only about the points. He scored 33 but look at the shots he made. Who else in this damn league could have made this 3pt shot while facing a 2-0 deficit??

It's all about greatness. He showed that in game 2.

  • This is pathetic. How come you start off your video descrption with "like Jordan, Kobe has the ability to make big shots". What the hell man? Stop comparing this dude to Michael Jordan man. Enough already. For the record, as I know you already, Kobe finished this series averaging only 22.6 points on 38% shooting.

  • Because it's true.

  • mamba you are absolutely right!!! LEBRON NEVER WILL BE KOBE BRYANT....... FORTUNATELY....

  • And regarding D-Wayde, he had a great run at the right time, during the finalslast year..just like Tony Parker(less points) this year. Is Tony the best player in the league? No! Is this enough to be the "Sports illustrated" athlete of the year? No.D-Wayde was over-rated. He's great. But he's still behind Lebron, and of course, behind Kobe.

  • Ok Regnova! So the Lebron-Kobe should stop now. Every Cleveland fans, you've just WITNESSED Lebron struggling in the finals.

You said He's incredible at 22 years old...

In this 4 game sweep vs the Spurs, he averaged 22pts on 35% shooting + 4/20 from 3pt range.

Back in 2001, a 22 year old Kobe killed San Antonio in a 4 game sweep. Averaged 33pts on 51% + 12 turnovers less than Lebron had.

Kobe at 22 was incredible, we all witnessed it.

  • kobe is an unbelievable player tho he was the best for the lakers in this series but the pistons were just too great of a team especially 1-5. watchin that series was unreal, the pistons really did dominate and it caught me by surprise on a huge level. pistons were so good that year it was unreal, totally dominated and continued to do it all the way til the 2006 allstar break. one long downward spiral from there.

  • wow you couldnt possibly be more wrong about that one huh lakobe? you ever watch lebron play? him and wade dominate within the team without turnin his teammates off hoggin it all the time like kobe does. thats the difference, thats what makes both lebron and wade a level above kobe.

  • This game you cant say he hogged it because he had 8 assists buddy check the stat line and that season he averaged 6 assists

  • The more Lebron plays the more he lowers himself below kobe, if kobe loses atleast hes going out with a bang, Lebron just misses free throws and clangs shots all over the place. And yea Lebron is in the finals but if you dont think kobe could be a wizards team with no arenas and no butler, and a Nets team with no big man to speak of, then youre stupid, I give Lebron credit for beating the pistons, but Lebron, but the Cavs were a bad match up for the pistons

  • Mamba... You know your stuff.. I need you to join in on some of these Kobe vs Lebron debates Ive been in. lol.. Keep uploading these games lol

  • im still hurtin from this damn series...lakers fa life baby. dont worry kobe, we gon be alright

  • kobe carried the lakers that year!

  • yeah and he carried them right to the golf course in that series.. Kobe was horrible while Shaq was dominating.. but of course Kobe couldn't possibly stop shooting

  • If the Lakers would have won that serious Kobe Bryant would have been MVP cause he carried them all season

  • Kobe Bryant was back and forth to court that season and missed 17 games. He also shot just over 43% for 24.0 points a game. How exactly do you define carrying a team anyway?

  • Well. The "ability to make big shots like MJ" thing is something the announcer says during the video. And even if this game was Kobe's last great one before the nightmare in Detroit, I'm focused on THAT game and especially the shot he drilled to tie it, while his team facing a 2-0 deficit.

You can't argue the fact that like Jordan, Kobe has the ability to make clutch shots, to make huge shots when it counts the most. You just can't.
