I have this happen in a different way, whenever I get to the area where you meet Otori at his temple right after you get to Tokyo, as soon as I open the temple door and see Otori the game crashe to a black screen with white text saying "The game disc could not be read, please check the Wii operations manual for more details." even though the disc is SPOTLESS. Can anyone help, I wanna finish the game! Thanks!
I've had that particular error happen, but not in Red Steel (only Wii Sports). When it does happen, I eject the disc and replace it, and after a few seconds of the disc spinning back up, the game continues.
hey i have the same problems, it happens in two different parts in the geisha house. I called technical service and they can't seem to help me whatsoever!!!! There fore i can never finish Red steel cause of this problem, i've tried absolutely everything possible

and also when it freezes up just hold the power button until it turns red, if you unplug the wii while turned on it could damage it.

So far I've gotten stuck in a box right near where you are in this video, then the game froze just as I was leaving this room, then I got a frozen game again in the level immediately following this.
The hell of it is, both times when it froze, I was able to reset and the game had a fresh save point for me right where I left off.

In the factory, my WiiMote was putting out the screeching sound, so I was definitely very freaked out! Also, if you had held the power button for about 10-20 seconds, it would have gone into a Red Light standby. No need to pull the plug :)
Coincidently, the same thing happened to me when I was playing the very beginning of the factory level. Also, it froze again today when my friend and I were playing Multiplayer. I've played "Wii Sports" along with "Twilight Princess" (Gamecube version) on my Wii and they run flawlessly. Seems Ubisoft has been known to make some pretty glitchy games.
its the game, i have heard that Red Steel is a very buggy game :( Ubisoft had clearly rushed the game development because they wanted the game to be released on day 1 of the wii launch :(

It's plausible, but I find it interesting that this happened to me twice on the same level, in nearly the same spot. So maybe it's Red Steel overheating my Wii...

Does your disc slot make sounds when u turn it on and off because thats whats happened to mine since I ejected the disc while it was frozen

Who knows where the issue lies, it's possible that the software makes the Wii's hardware to simply crash but on almost every game??

It's a hardware issue, I'm guessing that its the cooling on it, or the lack off.
