  • Whats the noise at 2:18?

  • @TheJaredSnellings the cat

  • Press 6 then 7. "So happy"

  • LOVE the cat btw...

  • this video helped, I salute you.. :P

  • Actually "Eight" in Latin is Octo lol not Oc.. This is the only thing 2 years of Latin has come in handy for!

  • Do more please !!!!

  • actually octaves are different in the frequency, that's why they sound higher or lower. But they are different in a 1:2 ratio, which means that you have twice the frequency amount of the note or half of it, depending on whether you are playing a higher or lower octave.

  • thanks for the informative video. but how come everything in the background is so busy? you've got cats, sirens, birds, some sort of chiming bells or something lol

  • 7:48

  • Love that cat! shes so damn cute!

  • I think its E F F# G G# A A#/Bb B C C# D D# i dont think its D# then E flat lol

  • awesome thanks:)

    you rock!!!!

  • Cheers M8, Just started playin, Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me now but I kinda get the jist.

  • your arms are strong

  • at the bottom on octave it goes "the 8th note in a" what`s after a?

  • lol you hit the low e and squakkkkkk

  • @Vengeanceisourpassio

    yhahaha

    yea

  • Thank you for taking the time to upload this video..very helpful!

  • @CKY4KK You're welcome :D

  • thinks 4 wearing pants........E#? lol

  • Good lesson dude but the cat and bird are distracting as hell. So is the wind. Regardless, thanks.

  • that bird is annoying it scared me like 3 times in the video, really whats the point of sharps and flats when using 1 gets the job done

  • @lynkkx

check out some scales.. not some guitar stuff BUT real shit

then i'd say u know how to play more musically so to say.. there IS a difference in flats and sharps when it comes to chords n' stuff like that... look it up

  • @asumanga I know about scales but what I mean is A# is the same as Bb right so why mix them up and just use all sharps for the corresponding flat chord to make things easier right

  • Anoyone know how to play a arpeggio.? during a solo.?

  • an arpeggio is just a chord broken into its seperate notes.

  • An arpeggio is a pattern played in a chord, so like repeating 3 different notes while holding the same shape on the guitar neck. It's usually used in solo's cause it's really fast and sounds really good.

  • Thank you.

  • holy crap FINALLY, thank you :X

  • Mambo Jumbo music theory XD

  • why is it important that you need no al the names from evry place?

  • so you can comunicate with other musicians

  • quick point, sharps and flats ARE different, but only in regard to the scale they're in.

  • good job

  • Very cool. Thanks!

  • Awesome AWESOME lesson. Thanks for your time. It is appreciated.

  • that helped big time, everyone just assumes you know the basic, first video ive found on the basics. :D

  • but octaves aren't the same frequencies other than that you did a great job on this video. If the octaves were the same frequency they would sound identical in pitch. Octaves are intervals between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency. Just wanted to make sure no one gets confused.

  • haha...cat trying to get attention

  • You explained it well.. Do you have other lessons? Thank you.

  • ive been playing guitar everyday for three years and with out bosting im getting good with the technical, as i learn from tabs, but even this little bit of info helped....to mack sure im getting it right....it goes ..E.fsharp g gsharp a asharp?

  • Right, but keep in mind that there are no sharps/flats between B and C as well as E and F. So it would go E-F-F#-G-G#-A, etc.

  • Your cat loves you man:)

  • Hehe yea. Thats layla, she is actually a mute cat. Rescued her from a car accident.

  • @LuisWahWah u found her from eric clapton's car?

  • it was a little hard to follow

    but i still got it

    =]

  • Yea sorry that it wasn't crystal clear. I'm tryibng to save up money to get a decent cam corder and software so i can put stuff on the screen as I speak.

  • kind of remember that you have to memorize which notes have sharps/flats between them and which dont. For instance, to use your example, on the A string it would be open A, A#/Bb(1st fret), B (2nd fret), C (3rd fret), etc. Remember there are no sharps/flats between B-C and E-F.

  • The kitty is trying to steal he show!!!
