  • whats the tone stack on this thing look like? i love the response of it.

btw i have two of your books you rock wampcat !

  • in 1:56 he starts to play someting really cool

    it have a name??

  • in 1:56 he starts to play something funky

someone know what he plays there??

  • So its a 2 channel pedal? I see 2 drives? Or do you just blend the drives together? LIke the sound..very vintage!

  • \m/ it's aces on the mad dog, keep up the good work \m/

  • wow...this sounds awesome.. sooo smooth. nice job guys. Johnny is a great player, only fitting a pedal with his name on it sounds as it does.

  • What pedal(s) have the Hardcore Rock sound?? not Metal sound.

  • I'd like to a hear some effects demos where the guitarist plays something other than some open chords and some pentatonic diddies

  • the tones on your videos are some of the best ive heard anywhere

  • I believe the Wampler pedals are far superior above what's out there that suspose to produce a true guitar tone. You Tube is great but it does give wimpy little candy ass junior league pickers the balls to criticize what they don't have a freakin' clue about and can't afford. Where's their rig and demos huh? where are they?

Brain keep up the excellent work man... my board (mission Control) is being Wamplerized as we speak.

  • Totally Agree! You get what you pay for. Brian is making pedals far superior than even the $200 mass produced botique pedals. Why hasn't Tone King heard of Wampler?

  • AC/DC to Stevie Ray Vaughn back to AC/DC this is bad ass

  • Sounds AC/DC'ish

  • Agree with 3chord - just got the super ecstasy pedal and it is fantastic - pulling out the keely TS to make space for it....

  • You do great work, don't worry about the a-holes out there. They will never be pleased with anything regardless of how cool it may be.

Please continue to create and innovate.

Good on you to work with Johnny. I have so much respect for my fellow Mainah. What a great player he is. Fine gentleman, too.

  • Just bought the Hot Wired Brent Mason pedal. Can't wait to get it. I should have it Tuesday...

  • Very nice!

  • I love Johnny's playing and this pedal seems to have been built to his specs. Brian has quite a range of ODs and Distortions to choose from -- some for much less doe. Check out the site and give 'em all a good listen. My favs are the Ecstasy and Cranked AC.

Brian, any chance that you can play your demos along with backing tracks so that we can see how they sound in a mix?

  • sure - I've done that in the past and I always get people asking for soundclips of the pedal only - If it's helpful though I'd be glad to combine both. :)

    Thanks,

    Brian

  • I want one!

  • I think it wounds great Brian. Very Bluesy and responsive. I bet you can coax some serious Hendrix and SV tones out of that one. It is on my list..along with a couple other pedals of yours.

  • wampcat, keep making pedals like you do, and let the haters hate. if any of them could play half as good as they can gripe, they should order this pedal. awesome tone, good versatility, good distortion. on the video, what kind of guitar is used? sounds like a gibson or prs w/ humbuckers in it...

  • thanks - it's a agile les paul copy - I really like the guitar for general use - it's my main gig guitar now, plus it's only like $200 or something, so I don't get all freaked out when somebody stumbles on stage and knocks it over. ;)

pickups are stock - gibson copies it looks like but I haven't taken it apart.

  • Wow, those Agiles are popping up everywhere. It sounds spectacular here. For the bucks they would appear hard to beat. Love the tones from the clip here, too. Cheers, Mike

  • Sorry, I had to change to moderated comments. There are always a percentage of people who are just plain haters. I removed a few comments that basically accused me of cloning some other circuits. Sorry, not a clone. It's a dual feedback clipper into a baxandall into a jfet. Another said I can't drill right. Actually, Johnny is nearly blind. the volume is higher so he can see it easier.

  • Ignorant people who don't really know equipment make statement's that they themselves don't even understand. Every tube driven pedal I have had or heard are noisy and don't even sound tube like. Brian, you make great stuff. I just ordered your delay pedal

  • You will love the echo pedal! I don't want to disrespect other pedals because if what you are using makes your sound come true, then by all means, keep using them. I just think that this one is the best one available! Enjoy!

  • Brian trys to demo his pedals on "average" sounding amps that the majority of people use. If he demo'd them on expensive boutique amps, then most of us wouldn't be able to duplicate that sound and we would just be dissapointed with the pedal.

  • I want to hear Johnny Hiland use it before I make a decision. I found some killer pedals on the net today, called tonebone. For this kind of money they use real tubes!

  • Man, I just bought a Tonebone "Plexitube". Unbelievable!!! 2 channels and great settings. Built like a tank.

These guys still make great pedals as well.

  • The Tonebone stuff is good, but not because they use tubes. Tubes are entirely unnecessary for use in pedals, and are commonly used as gimmicks more than anything else...tubes belong in your amp. I don't know of any professional guitarist that uses on a regular basis a tube powered pedal.

  • Lots of top artists use tonebone products. Check the website. Many of them go direct into the board with them. The purpose of the tube is just for pre amp. I'm not knocking Brians stuff. I'm just saying there are a lot of pedals out there that are very versitile. Tonebone's also have a built in loop so that other pedals in your chain dont affect the tone at all. Its just a matter of preference. Randall also uses modular 12 ax7's before the actuall pre amp circuit.

  • tonebones are also very noisy

  • None of mine are noisy.

  • Eric Johnson.....Chandler Tube Driver....David Gilmour.....Chandler Tube Driver....I'd say that's some pretty good players using tube driven pedals.

  • yep, those are cool pedals as well, though the tube design isn't used the same as a tube amp. The 12ax7's in them are voltage starved designs, creating a fuzzy distortion.

  • I own 2 old Plexis. Its just meant to mimic that particular sound. And it does very well. Your "Plexi" pedal also sounds great.

  • $250 for a pedal that isn't even drilled straight and is most likely just a clone of another highly popular pedal???

  • It is not a clone - the volume on this one was moved up so johnny could tell where the volume was. This is his personal pedal.

  • TOUCHE!

  • Not a very "thick" sounding pedal considering the BASS knob is all the way up and TREBLE and PRESENCE are less than 50% (beginning of the video)... not quite a "winner" you got there IMHO.

  • The lack of bass could be the amp....

  • you have to keep in mind that this is *johnnys* perfect pedal, this is the way he wants it and likes it. The eq is very versatile though - turned down the presence and the bass comes up. It's more of a presence filter.

  • Nice saturation and harmonics!
