I don't want to over-simplify things, but this sort-of ended his career. He was having a pretty stellar year that year, and the redskins season ended with him headbutting the wall. It's sort-of unfortunate because he had to serve as a back-up mostly after this, and he was a pretty successful backup in Minnesota
I remember staying up late for that game as a kid. I believe Michael Westbrook ended up blowing comfortable field goal range by slamming his helmet down and forcing a penalty to move us out of FG range with just seconds left in OT. Skins missed the playoffs by one game that year. Thanks Gus and Mike.
@Eyun Unfortunalely, everyone thinks that Tarvaris Jackson led the Vikings in 2008 to the playoffs. In fact, it was Gus. TJ played the first few games and the last few games. Gus played all of them in the middle!
I remember this game - I believe it ended up as a tie. Despite Gus' boneheaded play, the Skins blew this game on Westbrook's unsportsmanlike 15 yarder in OT...I think
@StraightOuttaDC Actually I wouldn't go so far as to say that...Jeff Hostetler was (in my opinion) the better quarterback and Frerotte's backup, so after this bone-head play I was happy to see Hoss come in. Sadly there were too many holes on that team for either of these QB's to take the team to the next level.

@VikingsOwn18 - you're kidding me right? he led the vikes into a 5 win streak, something TJ wouldn't be able to do.

@StraightOuttaDC It not only cost the team, but cost him a pink slip. This is why Washington cut him.
