People tend to forget how great he really was before all the injuries. I'm really happy for him, that he is now finally healthy. At 38 he was still one of the premier perimeter defenders in the league last season. Never gave up after all the setbacks. A true testament to his greatness. Hopefully he will still play after the lockout.

I think Grant Hill in his healthy years was a very similar type of player as LeBron. Don`t crucify me now, cause this is only my my humble, personal and therefore fallible opinion, but I actually think Grant was a little better then Lebron as far as handling the ball and creating his own opportunities...

i think lebron is a more dangerous weapon because he can drop 40 in a game and still get like 11 assists and 9 rebounds. kobe could go off for 50 (which is still crazy) but get like 4 assists because he gets in killing mode and goes to work

He is like a freight train without giving up speed or leaping ability. But he is not as beautifully to watch like Hill in his peak.

I always want to be forward because of grant hill and charles barkely. But I only 6'2 so that make me a guard but growing up I want to play like him. HE the deal.
grant's quicker than bron... lebron's more powerful... grant easily scores in set plays... but bron's got better court vision... i dont know about lebron's supposed impressive ambidexterity but i cant see it in games but grant has shown he can score (dunks or lay-ups) with his left hand... but bron has a better jumper and range now- and he's only 22... two of the best small forwards ever - after larry bird...

Grant Hill was on his way to the top if he had never gotten injured. Ferocious and humble like jordan and most of all a smart ball player. He was the second best and on his way to number one sttus while MJ was playing.
Grant was on his way to the top and his re-emmergance at the all-star game was uplifting. But great athletes can take care of their conditioning for more than 7 plus seasons eg. Pippen & Malone (Karl). No knock on Grant but he should've been smarter than to play though a playoff game with a broken ankle. It happened to Scottie too (ankle) against Miami in a game 7 where he sat out because he knew the team would be better off. Hill should've done the same.
Grant Hill had Pippen-like qualities minus the great defense. Although he had better ball-handling skills, he ranks only #3 on the best small forward list behind Lebron James and Scottie Pippen in my opinion.

@kaeios While I like Grant Hill better I don''t agree with your assessment. Lebron James has this line backer build. He can finish against the biggest and strongest defenders. He is like a freight train without giving up speed or leaping ability. But he is not as beautifully to watch like Hill in his peak.

grant was easily set up to take the nba over before the ankle. Just watching this video showed what he could do in a tougher defensive era. Grant was and still is my favorite player cause he was silky smooth going to the hole then just put it down hard. Best all around game there was.

But Grant Hill was the best all around, air apparent player. Kobe is the closest we've seen yet to MJ style wise. Wade is the Isaih Thomas/Barry Sndersof the league. Tony Parker is the best pure point guard of the league. The Lakers/Boston is heading towards dominance again. But the road goes thru Cleveland now. Atlanta has a Nique like leaper, Detroit could've been tougher but they gave up Billups(why). They could've given up Prince and Wallace for some younger talent. Not Billups.

yes, Grant Hill is the best in the class of the so called air aparents. (healthy). And this isn't really a highlght reel for him, cuz he performed every game the same. Jumper was consistent, cross over, spin move, post game was crazy. He was great. And he also took a team on his back, BUT he's not better than THE KING> Lebron is the new wave of the future. He is the ambasszdor of basketball to the whole world. Lebron is the changing of the guard. For example when MJ came after The Doc.

It don't matter, Kobe and Lebron, Wade, Parker, Duncan, Cp, Iverson, J-will, and alot of players of today grew up watching the league at it's toughest and very well could've played then. grant's quicker than bron... lebron's more powerful... grant easily scores in set plays... but bron's got better court vision... i dont know about lebron's supposed impressive ambidexterity but i cant see it in games but grant has shown he can score (dunks or lay-ups) with his left hand... but bron has a better jumper and range now- and he's only 22... two of the best small forwards ever - after larry bird...

Grant was on his way to the top and his re-emmergance at the all-star game was uplifting. But great athletes can take care of their conditioning for more than 7 plus seasons eg. Pippen & Malone (Karl). No knock on Grant but he should've been smarter than to play though a playoff game with a broken ankle. It happened to Scottie too (ankle) against Miami in a game 7 where he sat out because he knew the team would be better off. Hill should've done the same.
