@kawaikatuki Are you kidding? When you get to study networking in depth you see that 80% of the innovations are first made by Cisco, and only after several years ratified by IEEE or any other stardards organization. When they need something done, they just develop it and that is really cool.
Of course you have a point, in ads they will exaggerate (every company does), but they're not just any company! I wanna work for them one day.
I'm in high school just finished my first class of cisco and now in GIS (making maps) not my favorite subject in it so far but its still a pretty good program... oh yea and i play xbox live too :)
So the fat prick at 1:23 is one of the guys sending advertisements to your Xbox 360 when your online hey and also tell you that you need to update the Xbox NOT the game so that you can play it with more fucking adds!.
This was the video I was shown in my college before I was recruited :) I was awestruck by it.. Now that I have started working in Cisco, I am all the more excited. I must say the work culture is amazing. If you are good at what you do and willing to learn a lot, Cisco is the place for you!!!
I take the Cisco Academy Class in my local High School. It is very challenging. Its a College course so you have to know Computers and Networking inside and out.
i have a business management degree and i worked for a few years, now im 30 and i finishes studying ccna and hoping to pass my certification,im just afraid it is too late for me to start a career in networking
hi- I'm Computer Science student from Azerbaijan Republic studying in Portugal. If possibly let me know more about CISCO - does it really worth to get a job there. Thanx
2mins 24sec: "There are the guys that invented it". The first router was created by one man for his local University, then Cisco used it to start a business. Same story as Microsoft.
I will have to say you should definately take a look at Testout if your studying for CCNA/ or your CCNP. Helped loads for studying for my certification tests. Gained 15 credit hours towards my networking engineering degree and a very lucrative job at Eli Lilly's
I don't know if this will help to motivate you, I hope it does. Aside from the tales of enormous salaries that Cisco certified professionals earn, I'm motivated to get my certification because being a part of Cisco is perhaps synonymous with being a part of lifeblood of the Internet. All the cool technologies are dependent on the Internet, i-pods, i-phones, file sharing, streaming video (like this clip).
starting CCNA :)

"Cisco's collapse is inevitable.. thanks to its self created insider"

Cisco exaggerate itself tooooo much. They have not contributed to information technology that much.
Cisco is just A company that works on Networking.

Ask about all the insecurities that you're concerned about etc. and put up all of your queries in front of them.
Decide your study course carefully cos it's the first step towards professional life and in deciding your career.
All the best! :-)

Hey. There are alot of computer or IT related disciplines that you can go for.
Software engineering, Bachelors Computer science = programming/related to softwares
Computer engineering = related to hardwares
Telecom engineering
IT etc. etc.
**
Kindly ask other people like IT professionals, teachers etc. about them. Tell them your exact place of interest in computers and discuss it with them.

Nothing is too late! There's lots of people, even inside cisco who started late. It's not the "Age" that matters, its the "Attitude" !
