i honestly have never heard a song by ELO or jefflynne that i didn't like....it's like every single piece or song that he creates automatically resonates with me..i seriously need to buy all of their cd's and vinyl.
Unlike other bands, ELO really gives you great emotion. You can sink into his music and become deep in thought. Lynne is truly one of the greats! His Zoom album is yet to be beaten!
I'm not sure that Harrison or Lennon are the best comparrisons to Jeff Lynne. They are both fantastic artists, yet they didn't have voices that can compare to Lynne's. Jeff is a composer more then a band mate. He really stands in a class of his own. It would be difficult for him to find an equal, let alone three more musicians that could contribute the vocals and song writing ability that he posseses. The Traveling Wilburys is proof of that.
I couldn't agree more rorymacve. I used to have this album and played it until music could no longer be coaxed out of my CD. I can't find another one to replace it with. Music stores never have the Zoom album on the shelves. Why don't the masses like good music anymore? Is it irresponsible breeding, the media or something that the government put in the water? What ever it is, it's a damn shame that Jeff never got the gratitude that the world owes him for his work.
The moment I heard this song, I fell completely in love with it. Another brilliant masterpiece by Jeff Lynne. Although some people say that Zoom isn't as gooder album than the other ELO albums, I think the opposite, I think it's pure genius and its criminal that an album as good as this failed to Chart and the tour failed to go ahead. =-(
Just wondering if this was another Lennon tribute, but even though George is playing, it could almost be a fitting tribute to him now too almost 10 years later.
This album is where the Beatles left off. Does anyone know if this ELO Zoom album was George Harrison's last recordings. Not a bad tune on this CD. Thankyou lynne.Love it!
@srvinfinity I wouldnt be suprised if it was. But you need to remember that he was also working with his son on a album when he dies (His son finished the album)
@d8ford Couldn't agree with you more. In the day and age of a couple of good songs with a bunch of filler that album has 90% strong songs. The DVD is very good, also.
I think a good race would be Boston ship ELO ship, the Millenium Falcon and The Enterprise ships. I bet the Enterprise just has a crappy AM radio on theirs but Bostons and ELOs ships have jamming 2 million watt stereo systems with 15 inch woofers. Han Solo just spent all his money on that 3D Chess board.
Also what happened to the ship that was on Out Of The Blue? Did they crash it or just trade it in for the new model or is it the same one and just needs to be washed?
That Slide Guitar is George Harrison who also played in "All She Wanted". Another Former Beatle, Ringo Starr plays Drums in "Moment In Paradise" and "Easy Money"

Oh, if only Jeff Lynne could have gotten in the studio with Tom Scholz of Boston. What a tremendous album they could have produced together!

That would have been something else. Or if ELO and Boston were in concert together.
