I think FFVIII's ending allows for multiple 'time streams' that run alongside eachother thanks to all the time travel at the endgame, and Rinoa becoming the Sorceress is one of them. Of course, that raises the question of what happens to Squall in that timeline. Remember he promises to become her knight... so... Squall = GF Greiver?!
