I bought this computer too, but, it wants to install 18 windows updates which do not install. Dell wants me to restore it to original factory settings. But, what is the guarantee that will fix the problem. I am not a happy camper at this point.

I have a 15 and a 17 i love them both but use them for different purposes. The 15 i use more for work because of the portiblity and the 17 for gaming. the 15 has vista and a crappy mobile video card which maked me wanna puke. but oh well, and the 17 has windows 7 and a 1gb dedicated ati radeon video card.

If you are looking for portability i'd say go for 15".. 17" is really only a desktop replacement.

No, you are right i did edit on a Mac.

Dell really has not copied the OSX Dock, but it's similar. Similar cause apple's Dock is for launching Application and also holds the minimized windows, trash can, etc. Dell's holds only 4 applications all related to multimedia, and it really is in-functional. It dose not respond at times.

you really can't compare this to them.

But you can say this is say the basic model, then would come the mid range model the xps and then the alienware..

the xps and alienware are more pofermence oriented.

I bought the 17" to Replace My desktop.. So if you want a laptop i suggest studio 15 or XPS 16 or XPS 13 both are good for laptops...

Buy the 17" if you want to replace you'r desktop as a laptop i wouldn't suggest you use the studio 17 as even with a 9 cell battery it dose not last long...

Well i really couldn't see the difference when my friend bought over his studio 17" normal display. However when i saw the led one it looked way way more crystal clear and brighter than the full hd one.
