training, practice, frequent use. he will have had special lessons teaching him how to sing that high without hurting himself. there is a specific way you should sing - which can potentially vary a little from person to person. the method will increase your vocal range and ability and projection and more...

his ability to sing forever comes with constant touring, singing in the correct way, and it trains his voice to not get so tired, but sometimes even the bigtime professionals need a break becuase their voices get tired. similarly, there are people who speak incessantly all freakin' day for their job. they train their voices through constant talking to be able to talk for that length of time without going hoarse. :)

@MoreParksLessParking - It's actually called a falsetto. Matt is unique with his because it took him a shorter amount of time to learn how to get his voice THAT high. It only took him 6 months. Some singers take almost 2 years to learn how to do that

I remember one time, that i hearing Citizen Erased on my iPod, then when it was done, Micro Cuts started, with the sound bits from Citizen Erased, and i just liked it alot. I don't know why, but i also like it on other songs from other albums i find :)

But the best way to hear this song (for me anyway) is by listening to it with earphones. Then at 3:18 you can hear the guitar sound almost going from left to right and so on. But at 3:23 it goes way faster. A weird, but kinda funny feeling :p
