The label for the choke is backwards! Off is choke . On is choke open. On my 2 , anyway.

Are these a clone of a Honda Engine? Do they have a Cast Iron Liner like the MTD Powermore?

@DannysCam The harbor freight engines seem to have a bigger air filter and a different gas tank.

I just found out that these engines DO HAVE a cast iron liner!

Harbor Freight is awesome. These motors seem to be pretty good from what I have heard, I might get one on sale for my mini bike if the stock motor on it dies.

You are lucky how it was a direct bolt up deal, which just makes it even better not having to mod it.

I bot one for my wizard project - i had the coupon from the paper - i paid $90 for mine ( and extra $12 for the 1 year replacement) - mines still in its box . We have a couple harbor frieghts nearby - also a northern tools- great places for extra stuff.

Danny, the smoke, as you say came from the paint, but it will quit after a few times running, or after running for a long time. Like a whole tank. At least that seemed to be the case with that snowblower we got last year. No worries. - Much Love!

@DannysCam I thought about buying one for a cart that I could use for moving lots of bags of dirt, rocks, mulch etc. with. I would have to make it low torque for going over grass, which is why I would love to have it. I like to get things done quick! I believe harbor freight also has the cart I would use with pneumatic tires. Casters or hard wheels if you will, are not something that is good for lawns with heavy loads on them. I will inquire about this engine u got if I decide to go for it.

these are great engines! i have one on my mini bike and one on my gokart! they have tons of torque and are really worth the price! we paid 169 for ours, but here in canada princess auto has em for 89.99 on a sale

Oil is oil no matter who makes it lol. Yeah I tell people after 4 hours to bring it back for servicing. With me you get a year free service on mechanical items. Of course gas dont come with the engine lol. They run all engines at factory to make sure they run thats what the oil thats left is. Helps to choke it right LMAO.

Whats the cc of the engine? I sell new engines and I was just wondering to compare briggs I sell. I sell briggs kohler honda and powerhorse engines. A 190cc briggs cost is 154 for me to get but of course I got to sell it more to make money lol. Briggs dont rate by HP any more because there more then they rate them at. Like my 2009 Allis lawn tractor is a 749CC rated at 23hp but its closer to 32hp. I got my welder from Harbor and its works great but some stuff is way cheap like grinder disc

@DannysCam I think it should the membership is good if you are going to shop there a lot. I had it but returned it because I never got any of the stuff that was on membership sale only most the time you only get $10 more off the sale price. But thats a good deal for that engine if its a good one.

@1972FordF150 carb... its the bowless carb that i hate some idiot rebuilt it and lost the small carb screws so they used dry wall screws... and some broke off inside the carb... it would of cost me like 40 dollars for a new carb so i just got this instead hehehe
