These are edible. We gathered them in large quantities at the California Aquaduct near Stockton, California, delicious. You also find then on Rio Vista river near Fairfield. Bait store sells them for bait. When we were kids in the Philippines we gathered them by the river banks.
@juicystar199811 When clam is dead, it gives bad smell. Whenever you find a clam dead, get rid of it immediately from aquarium. If a clam is dead, its shell will be opened and will not be able to close.
thats sooo coool ... i have 2 neon blue guramies, 2 phantom tetras, a juli cory, 3 danios, 2 guppies and some small snails do u think they will b fine in my tank???
lol. No im actually in Central Texas! It was weird because i thought they needed lots of water to survive? Im thinkin someone may have dumped them.....They are huge so im sure they are a few years old at least. The baby one has dug itself into the gravel.....maybe the others will too? Thanks for the info!
What do you feed them? I have freshwater mussels that were found on the side of the road. Now they are in my aquarium and i've been feeding them crumbled fish flakes for the last month. I heard they can eat yeast(used for baking) and also algae. But mine never move around much or anything :/
