I admire Steve and the boys tremendously, I don't think any band has ever put the same effort in - consistently - over a 30 year period of albums and tours. Having said that, for me the best work that Bruce Dickinson has done as a musician and an artist is all self-contained on the Chemical Wedding album. I don't think Maiden have ever made a record as good as that and don't think they're likely to now. Kudos, Bruce.

well this album is as told by maiden themselves influenced by 70s progressive rock . I think this is the perfect blend of heavy metal and that . Its repetitive but that makes it better , always puts me in a trance like state .... and this album is trippy as fuck . i connect with this music more than the short ones cause this way they build the song up right in front of your ears and gives its sound scape value , more of a imagery through ears. u know what im saying if u listen to 70s prog rock ?
