  • look i found it el pito @naruto4458

  • RuPaul....

    I ain't no Puta!!!

  • First song of 2012 for me!

  • @DCshirley That is my favorite part . <3

  • This song got a lot of a.m radio play on the soul stations in Philly during 1966. Back then there were always brother's playing congos and bongos on the street and in the park. Mongo Santamria was hot and we were all doing the Afro Cuban.

  • South Bronx!!!

  • I aint no puta, I keeps my panty clean !!

  • @neverdat1994 i love that part in the movie.

  • I keeps my panty clean.

  • I remember this from Crooklyn. Wonderful to come back to it after getting into the Boogaloo sound of Joe Cuba, Ray Barretto, El Bobo, Mongo Santamaria, et al. If you dig this sound, start exploring these guys.

  • caliente ,rumba i never go back to gerogia

  • if it wasn't for crooklyn, i wouldn't like it over a decade ago

  • 8 People went back

  • The first time I heard this on Crooklyn I honestly thought he was singing "i'll never go back to chocha,"... U know because he was dancing with rupaul....

  • @MsMzphit When this song first came out, that was the street version of this song....but we all went back to it....

  • CRo0kLIn

  • I THINK ABOUT RU PAUL IN CROOKLYN!!!! GREAT SONG!!!!

  • @vangoghmatisse1 great song,but i think about ru paul regardless.(PAUSE)

  • @NEBLEEKS I know she is GORGEOUS!!!!

  • Joe Cuba never even went to Georgia! But what super cool music!!

  • @DCshirley Hahahaha! That's the FIRST thing I thought of when I found this song! "I'LL NEVER GO BACK!"

  • Every time I hear this song I check...to make sure my panties are clean! :-)

  • @tonybklyn lol

  • 8 Personas volvieron a Georgia

  • Corso on East 86th was definitely one of the great places to go dancing. Cheetah was THE club, and Symphony Syd did his last NY radio broadcast from there before he moved to Fla. You can find a podcast of it on the Fania website. And if you liked merengue, the CLUB in the 80's (I think?) was Club Broadway, upstairs on Broadway and 95th. Isnt Latin Bugalu just the best!!

  • @DCshirley lol!!!!!!!!! crooklyn!!!!!

  • i laugh so much when i heard this song in crookyln and how that drag queen and this little spanish guy was dancing

  • ya me hizo bailar! este ritmo!

  • I miss all this good music. I came up during the 60's and 70's and the music was GREAT. I never really got enough latin music. I remember Frankie Crocker was starting to play alot of it then he left the station he was on.

  • ¡¡¡¡¡¡ESPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Like This If Da Funk Brought You Here ;)

  • Oh yeah- for many of the brothers in NYC, this was our introduction to Latin music. This song was one of the first to cross over on the radio (WWRL 1600). When the Black brothers and Latino brothers weren't rumbling, we were partying together.Once you learned the Latin dances, you had a better chance with some of those pretty Latinas. (I personally preferred the partying.)

  • @emmettk We were one through music, latinos and African- Americans. The drum was the call to unity. But I had grown up listening to latin music way before WWRL. Symphony Sid was the man who brought Mambo (or salsa to the younger crowd) to the forefront in the New York clubs. Even Perez Prado could get down when he wanted. But, it was the work of Cal Tjader with Mongo Santamaria that made it an art form for me. What were the other clubs besides "El Corso" that we used to go to? I can't remember.

  • @lamontlewis Casa Blanca, El Chez Jose, Nosotros (After-hours) El Hipocampo, Club Caborojeno, and of coourse...El Palladium

  • JOE CUBA DE LO MEJOR DE LA SALSA SU MEJOR EPOCA FUE EN LOS 60´S

ESTA ORQUESTA SE CARACTERIZABA PORQUE LA MAYORIA DE SUS INSTRUMENTOS ERAN DE PERCUSION

  • excelente descarga de salsa que buen sabor........

  • LIKE THIS IF THE MOVIE CROOKLYN BROUGHT YOU TO THIS MUSIC!!

I'll never go back to Georgia.

  • I'll never go bak to my ex -wife. Splendid!

  • @DCshirley I thought Connie was a man / Tranny and I understood "I never go back to chocha" which means I never go back to pussy. LOL

  • A parrandiar, carajo.

  • Damn right - 2 years in Georgia were ENOUGH. This song stays on the iPod :D Mx

  • Go Chico Brenez!

  • 7 ppl went back to Georgia

  • @youngsaintsta lmao

  • @sudb0369 One of the best versions of Manteca is by Pancho Sanchez

  • Y como sale Cheo de las drogas? Solo el

  • @sudb0369 They were stopped at a diner in Georgia,on the way to do a gig in Miami. The law gave them such a hard time, because they were Puerto Ricans.

  • @garlicdill Its my understanding they had never been to Georgia. This was made up. Look it up in WiKi in Google that state; The "Never Go Back To Georgia" chant was taken from Dizzy Gillespie's intro to the seminal Afro-Cuban tune, "Manteca". Sabater later revealed that "none of us had ever been to Georgia

  • @mayito714 This story was going around in all the Brooklyn clubs that they played back in the 70's.Thanks for telling me the true story. If you're into some real good old Latin Afro Jazz, let me know, and I'll send you some. Thanks

  • I remember Joe Cuba playing in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. His sound was a breath of fresh air. They played in a bunch of small clubs around the 5 boroughs of N.Y. I still have his music. One of the great Latin Jazz groups.

  • aSI SE gOZA tHERE'S SOMETHING IN lATIN PR MUSIC IT TOUCHES MY SOUL I LOVE ALL MUSUSIC GOD BLESS YOU ALL HAVE SAFE BLESSED SUMMER

    CARMENLIDIA BEDSTUY BKLYN, NY

  • @kennedycrandell u mean cuban music,

  • whats wrong with georgia?

  • @lilyr270 I think, it was something related to racism in those struggling years.

  • I've always wanted to know why they never wanted to go back to Georgia? Probably the racist. Should've went to Atlanta.

  • pito means dick

  • @crazy2cold thats bitho bro

  • Georgia is in Arizona?

  • Well, I am sure the Georgia Department of Tourism is not adopting it as their promo song......but what a hit it was back then. Gracias Maestro Joe Cuba, Cheo, Jimmy Sabater, y todos!! A sextet that ruled and sounded like an orchestra.

  • "I'll never go back to Arizona, I'll never go back!"

  • ... Simply 'drives me crazy... Great descarga,,,, full of energy! thanx 4 uploading

  • I love this song. Thanks for putting it up ejaydee.

  • El pito for life!!

  • me neither....

  • Boricuas create some of the best Latin music in history..Respect that.

  • real music!!!!!!! also in mexico where im from, you use the word pito as another word for cock, dick! its funny, that probably dosent mean te sam in cuba or puerto rico!

  • HELL YEAH!

  • Chico Brenes' song in "Mouse!"

  • Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • REAL MUSIC

  • Segun el periodico espa~nol "El Mundo"

En 1966, el sexteto lanzó Estamos haciendo algo bien/ We must be doing something Right. I¿ll never go back to Georgia».

  • I still live in Georgia...

  • Yo tambien quisiera saber!!!

  • @andgar85 esta cancion tiene unas partes del ritmo/cancion "I'll never go back to Georgia" por Dizzy Gillepsie

  • legendary, thank you for uploading i lvoe u forever

  • asi se gosa.

  • From 1962-1967 the Joe Cuba sextet were #1 in the latin scene. Too bad Cheo got fired due to drugs. Then Nick Jimenez and Tommy Berrios left too, and this great group was not the same after. Joe Cuba ruled the 60's, but the 70's were not as kind as music taste changed.

  • xedddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • Asi se goza, aint that right? Joe used to have evrybody jumping to this hit and also 'BANG-BANG'.Those were some days..................................

  • I first heard this song when I was 10, from the Crooklyn soundtrack. I thought it was the most bizarre song ever and it never seemed to end! It fit in well with the movie though, in the scene when RuPaul is dancing with the man in the store and her (in)famous line: "I ain't no puta! I'm Connie, I keeps my panty clean". :D

  • Snap that line was great i so agree with what you said

  • My mother loved this song . . . I bought the 45 for her years ago . . . this is the bomb. Thanks much.

  • There is a track on this album titled "My wonderful you." I know the guy who wrote it. And would love to have a listen. Any chance of a post? It would be most appreciated. Thanks

  • Wha chu talking bout tito you ain't nothing but a damn PUERTO RICAN! LOL god i love that movie. I also had the pleasure of being exposed to Joe Cuba and other afro latino music as a little girl by my grandfather. What great memories :)

  • i am 55 year old african american and Joe Cuba and Joe Bataan are my favorites along with DAVID Ruffin

  • I'm 47 years old and just getting hip to this music, what a shame . This is the best music in the world. I love it! It's a orchestra with funk. Atlanta, Georgia.

  • He was a bridge between Puerto Ricans and Black Americans in the 1960's. He could make 6 guys sound better than a whole orchestra.

    Soul man...RIP

    Dios Te Bendiga.

  • VIVA LA MUSICA!!!!!!

  • crooklyn is one of my favorite movies!!!

  • Great memories of dancing with my boogaloo steps back in Loiza Aldea, PR. Had all of us whistling to the jam. Thanks for sharing, Love it.

  • The chorus line is a take-off from a phrase pronounced by Dizzie Gillespie. There was trouble in that State (uprisings and all that), so he said that now-famous phrase: I'll never go back to Georgia!. That seemed to spring a feeling of identificacion with the black cause, among the black crowd that danced to the J.C. Sextet, and that made the song stand out among these people. Eleazar López C. Caracas, Venezuela

  • Wow, thanks for uploading ejaydee, I remember dancing this at my Sweet 16 birthday party--great music.

  • Hehe - brings back memories of Salsa beginner's classes - seems to be a favourite slow track...:-)
