Do you know how can i pause the video while recording?... I can only record and stop. which is very annoying to record a new clips all the time. please advise. thank you! :)

The 5N best small camera for video? No. Absolutely not. That would be the Panasonic GH2 without a doubt. Besides, like some above, I want to like this camera. It really has some excellent features like focus peaking, and great sensor. But the native Sony lenses will always be large because the body is so slim, Sony has to essentially put a spacer in the lens so it can focus at infinity. Notice that the 50 1.8 is longer than mostly all other 50's. This is why.

I was thinking about getting one of these but discovered it doesn't have stabilization. There is only one lens that I’ve seen that has it, but not for the focal length I want.

This is a bad ass camera... I think this is what my buddy was shooting with the other day and it is just unreal... especially the HDR!!

Anyone know how to use these .mts video files it creates without artifacting. I am on a mac lion osx, but the videos i did with it look like crap. what am i doing wrong. All my edges are squiggly.

I hate to be that guy but the censor in the NEX-5 is the new back lit type and that's why the ISO and noise performance is better... and NOOO Nikon have not been better at noise cancellation, it's just perceived as being better but image samples do not support that. The censors in the Nikon APS-C range IS from the old Minolta factory now owned by Sony.

buying a system camera means considering more than just the body, yes the NEX has a bigger sensor than the Micro 4/3 (1.6x compared to 2x crop factor) BUT! their lenses are ok at best. I suppose it depends what you're looking for, but if you're buying it because it's pocketable and has great image quality, the only pocketable lens sony makes is the 16mm f 2.8. Micro 4/3 on the other hand has 20mm f1.7, PZ 14-42mm , 14mm f2.8, 17mm f2.8, and better quality lenses like the 12mm f2, or the 45mm 1.8

hi matt, im interested in buying this camera, however, i'm a bit worried because, i've been watching some clips from youtube that this camera had a hardware problem. If youre in a video mode, you will basically hear a clicking sound when you make a sudden move. Sony made a statement on this but it is really worth buying this camera? Pls. help.

@eizlez a55 is a DSLR/T so they both are different! it depends on for what purpose do you shoot? if you are an enthusiast buy a A65

Hey Matt, You do realise that if you get one of these cameras, you''ll be a Pro who shoots with Sony. You only said a few weeks ago, you didn't know of any Pro's that shoot with Sony, but seriously, I have the same dilemma, but I also have the answer. We need a Nex 6 that has the 7's body, control and features, but with the 16mp sensor. Please Lean on Sony to do this Matt.

@swoody42 LOL... yes, I'll be a Pro who shoots with Sony. :-) Apparently I stand corrected though. Quite a few viewers have posted about lots of Pros who shoot Sony. I agree with you though... an NEX-6 sounds great! :-)

i own d7000 camera and it it perfect and i saw some website comparing nex 5n to d7000 at high ISO saying it is better and i don't believe it and my self have played with nex 5 and all of my photos are soft .what do you think Matt of of d7000

Hey Matt I'm gonna check out your work! I'm an educator for an elementary school here in Texas and love it! My kids love the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." It's the series they fight over lol. Anyway just wanted to say love your videos and I'm excited to see the new Sony A77 I got twin D7000 and I'm like you I shoot weddings and I'm waiting for the D400 ::P

It's infuriating how the x10, this NEX 5n, and all the nikon entry level reflex like the 3100 and 5100 all have a much better sensor and features than 600d, 60d and also 7d (same sensor as the other enty canons). I wonder when Canon is going to respond. I expect a 2012 full of surprises.

I'm waiting till monday to order my Sony NEX-5N... Impressed with it's features glad it has touchscreen. Luckily I didn't purchase the NEX-5... Great video summed up the main points.

Right now I am holding my breath, waiting for real world image samples from the Fuji X10, and the Sony NEX 5N and 7 for comparison purposes.

Love what you've done with your studio set-up. The two rear monitors really gives your video a nice polished look and feel.

I still think the Olympus EP3 would be a better deal, due to the amount of good lenses Olympus offers. Sony doesn't have much of any good lenses for now. my personal preference would be EP3, then NEX 5/5n, then G3. Great video. :)
