there was no point to this video at all. i hope the n82 gets a signal faster than n95 because the n95 takes over 10 minutes to get a signal. a complete waste of gps.

every gps lags a litle bit, eaven some GPS devices, originaly gps in phones is desinged for 'on foot' so it will kinda lag a litle bit while in car, but depends on what software u use,i heard garmin is best ;)

yes i even have gps signal indoors, although it sometimes takes up to 3 minutes to get a fix. But i can live without and i am not using A-GPS.

the n82 is the best that nokia can offer.

1. xenon flash for great pictures everywhere.

2. no moving parts, so it is more robust.

but it has smaller screen and no infrared (not that is of any use anymore). overall i prefer the n82

that N95 was running an older firmware. update it to v20 or v21 and give it the same A-GPS as the n82. N82 is newer phone with A-GPS so it triangulates with nearest signal masts to get its postions. unfair test.

Hey I think the N96 is gonna B better cuz of the video/ audio quality increas. Plus it also has flashlite 3 so you can watch almost any internet video and a lot more

dont spam moron... aGPS uses gps through mobile carrier's antenna... if you have provider signal you also have aGPS signal...

Em...I don't think that's correct...the GPS is on the handheld device, the maps are downloaded through GPRS/GSM to be shown on your device.I think that if you buy a micro sd card with maps pre-loaded (like Garmins mobile XT) then the GPS should work even if you don't have signal...can anyone tell me if this is correct? Thanks

you're half correct and wrong the preloaded maps are downloaded as you said but its not actually a gps bcuz u cant see urself in it u have to pay or use a wifi hotspot to use its gps gps means Global Positioning System so with it u can have a gps with voice guiding you...preloaded maps are also useful but its just like a map that u can zoom and look into places but not with u on it...

For those who have no idea what's going on... he (she?) just had both the N95 and the N82 turn on the Maps program and acquire a GPS signal. The screen they were showing was how many satellites the phone was connected to. The N82 showed 3 sats pretty quickly with full signal while the N95 only found one sat and was having a hard time connecting.

The significance of this was that he/she was indoors with what appeared to be a cement ceiling.
