  • I loved The Firm. No it wasn't Led Zep but at least Jimmy was keeping busy, and Paul Rodgers voice is always cool. Almost all the songs are good, some of them great.

  • Saw these guys live May 18th, 1986

  • Nice try Jimmy.

  • Paul Rogers looks like he went out and got a new face. He actually looks alot better now then in this vid.

  • You know... this may have provided a fine lead in to "Whole Lotta Love", provided Jimmy and the band wanted to cover it.

  • Great to hear Pagey's guitar again.

  • This song is evidence that the devil broke his contract with Jimmy Page immediately following the break up of Led Zep.

  • this is not the page i know. definatly not his best era of playing

  • The most under-rated rock band of 80s!

  • The problem with this group although I kinda liked them was that Rodgers and Page got a drummer and bass player that were far beneath their talents. Like the Zeppelin/Bad company grooves are completely missing. Mediocre!

  • @nat00ben06 "Zeppelin/Bad company grooves are completely missing" because it is a side project !! If he wanted it to sound like Zeppelin he would have reunited Zeppelin.

  • @nat00ben06 'Far beneath their talents'? While I will agree that Chris Slade is a very basic drummer, Tony Franklin is not a very basic bassist. He's playing a fretless and also played in Blue Murder with John Sykes and Carmine Appice.

  • @dharmaseed Geez sorry my opininions and comments were so detrimental to the overall well being of fans of The Firm....which is a very small side note in anals of music history. Name dropper!

  • @nat00ben06 LOL, I am absolutley devastated that you would form an opinion on such an important band! They had like two albums and two singles! Next you'll be saying you don't like Asia!!! ;)

  • @dharmaseed Ok cool I know you're bs' me. but Asia another ismall side note n the anals of music history, but I did like Steve Howe with Yes. Although the people I perfer now adays would be Jeff Buckley, Ben Harper,Dave Matthews,Chris Cornell..rap can disappear forever and I would be happy. Country can go! Need more soul, funk, R&B....oh and Britney can't forget about her greatness.

  • @nat00ben06 Check, more REAL music.

  • Annals, that is. Anals was Frankie goes to Hollywood.

  • Still would love to have seen them live just once.

  • i PLAYED IN A BAND WITH CHRIS SLADE IN lOS aNGELES CALEED ECOTONIC FOR 1 YEAR ,,,SUPER COOL NICE HUMAN!

  • I love that I was in a band with Chris Slade for a year ... called Ecotonic!

  • Those guys had hard times from the critics back then mid 80's. Those 2 records they made had the worst critics. I don't know what people expected, I guess Jimmy only had the possibility to even top LZ, which was impossible and it was the wrong time for blues rockish kinda music.

  • He's one hell of a singer but damn what a complete asshole in person..Guess it's the price you pay for having talent---> No personailty..

  • @Ruraljohn suppose it is better than having neither

  • jimmy page is my hero Men

  • jimmy page is my hero Men

  • dear jimmy page, were you raptured up?

    /watch?v=FCARADb9asE&feature=related

    neither us.

  • led zep ... in the off time.... listen to PAUL RODGERS

  • paul pulled jimmy out of the grave, only guy who couldf at the timej, made it easy , as always with paul

  • when i say ? the best.... im talkin bout paul

  • brittish loyalty

  • paul makes simple guitarist who know how to find a groove, successful.. paul is the consumate pro,,, and they ALL depend on him,

  • paul ... gets jimmy back...jimmy! this guy is THE best, they all know it.. needs to be said

  • SAW THEM AT NASSAU COLLISEUM IN 85 AND IT WAS FUCKIN GREAT!!!!

  • I had the priveldge of seeing Jimmy play LIVE four times, three with Led Zeppelin and once with The Firm. He's amazing and would play for his crowd for days. He loves playing and sharing his mastered guitar skills.

  • Sounds as though a few people should have gone on the Anthroplogy 201. Subjective or not, you can't deny these performers. I use to wonder why more of the big name artists didn't get together back in the early '70s and blow away all the new generation slack rockers.

  • Considering the other bands performing at the time this was a rather good one. They also had the spectre of Led Zeppelin overshadowing them and I think Jimmy should get high marks for doing this. It shows he loves music and performing. He certainly didn't need the money. I suspect after all the criticism here he will fall to pieces silently sobbing in his mansion or touring the world with his silly little millions of dollars.

  • And this one goes out to the people of Japan ......

  • Jimmy Page with a strat !

  • Haha! Someone's butthurt because their favorite bands got called overrated. Get this through your skulls: musical preferences are subjective.

  • One of the first shows that I bootlegged in 1985. One day Ill post someof it.

  • Yes. Paul does think a lot of himself. Saw his "J. Hendrix" tribute tour in `94.

Quote:" I would like to do a song I wrote in Bad Company....as a matter of fact, I WROTE ALL THE SONGS IN BAD CO."...(Crickets) No one gave a shit! That's just how we Texan's are.... Shut up and play. A Brit trying to sing like Hendrix don't fly. But he's made millions.

  • I really liked "the Firm", they didn't try to (intentionally) sound like Zep or Bad Co.,

and actually had a sound to their own, and that Wasn't an easy thing for the 1980's where most every band was So Commercial or almost trying to sound like some other classic band.

I feel Fortunate to have seen them on their First Tour, and Was Amazed !

I only wish they made More than 2 albums.

  • @murdock6107 The 2000's remind me of the 1980's as far as bands trying to sound like each other and trying to sound retro. "Nu Metal" was the '00's equivalent to '80's "hair metal" as far as there being 50,000+ bands that all look and sound the same. I hated the 00's and think the 80's were overrated. Although there are plenty of songs I like a lot from the '80's. To me it was hit or miss. This might have been besides the point but felt inspired to post it anyway.

  • @LedWilde

Yes my Friend...the 1980's Was Hit or miss...or simply throwing Crap on a wall and seeing what stuck to it !

Bon Jovi for instance or Motley Crew..Or...______ (feel in the blank)

Much like the 2000 era of Rock, there was a Few (and Very few at that)

that were actually good bands, (how many will stand the test of time ?)

"The Firm" will be one of those bands that might be remembered Only because of "Jimmy Page"

but all in all, Did have a body of work that stands on it;s own.

  • Speaking of Overated, Kings of Leon should take some lessons from The Firm's Radioactive.

  • I always (since the release of The Firm) looked at them as like the Damn Yankees, Traveling Wilburys etc.... Have some fun, make some killer music, but is not a thing that can last forever. Cut a couple albums, play a few follow up "get together" shows on New Years Eve once in a while........

  • my balls are radio active

  • THEY IMPLODED,,BY THE WAY THE GUESS WHO SOLD MORE RECORDS THAN YOU THINK. HAD MORE TOP TEN HITS THAN ZEPPELIN

  • @lcolby11 :haha! So is that the "standard" to judge whether or not Zeppelin was "overrated"? Led Zeppelin intentionally -and this is FACT-decided NOT to release singles, nor follow standard music co.'s guidelines for marketing & releasing albums. Why? B/c Page knew that by creating mystery, it would draw MORE attention to them (i.e no title on Zeppelin 4, no singles released etc..) and guess what: it worked like a charm- they are arguably the most popular band of ALL (!!) time !!

  • @lcolby11 Awsome band- Burton Cummings,Randy Bachman,Gary Peterson. They have been left in the past because the bass player Jim Cale owns the name but has issues. But they still perform sometimes under Bachman/Cummings. I am going to see Burton Cummings next wed. His backing band is the Carpet Frogs. And Bachman is playing with Turner and Paul Rogers in Toronto in Sept. Bachman-Turner Overdrive had a huge song-Taking Care of Business. Rock On!!!

  • THEY IMPLODED

  • THE FIRM IS GREAT ALSO

  • I saw Chris live with AC/DC ..he is a kick ass drummer!!

  • Can someone tell me why the official video from this song from 1985 is not on YouTube ?

  • 2 of my favorite musicians in one band....Chris Slade and Jimmy Page

  • Yes Jimmy Page formed the band 0airamahrog. You need to focus more on Jimmy Pages stuff than some narcissitic tool like Paul Rodgers. You see, people like Jimmy Pageand bands like Zeppelin apprciate their fans and the people who buy their music. Some lame halfway there group like Bad Company doesnt.

  • luv the sound of drums

  • omg, fmb ! :) xxxxxxx

  • @EvertaSemper Well, I don't know or really care why you would say that to me. I said nothing at all to you. So while your assessment of me is mildly interesting, it is also completely irrelevant. Thanks for sharing...

  • something for them to do...

  • You need to turn up the volume - I can't hear shit of this

  • I think it's a good video , but I was wondering why people think THE BEATLES ARE INVOLVED ? NONE OF THEM WERE EVER INTHIS GROUP, I do say with respect to all involved

  • This song is very dull. Im a big fan of Page

  • Yes, McCartney and Lennon are really weak on this performance. And, Sinatra, Sachmo, the Gregorian monks and the Tuvan throat singers, I mean, where are they? Lame.

  • BTW. I met Paul. What a tool! Great voice, etc., but still a complete wanker! He thinks a whole bunch about himself

  • I heard that from quite a few people that met him as well... when they Played in Neb. 1985, the 3rd encore the crowd was going nuts, and you can tell Jimmy wanted to go on, he looked over at paul and paul shook his head NO, and then they bowed and exited

  • Well I would never expect any band to do a third encore. When I met him, I was a jock (DJ) and we had contest winners there to meet him, set up through his people, and he just blew them off. The only bigger assholes I have ever met in R&R are Terrible Ted Nugent, and The Black Crowes. I have met many rock stars, including Ozzie Osborne, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, and hundreds of others. Most are tired of fans, but are cool, and realize that it's part of the deal.

  • kiss - Hang-over alert - meant "excellent musician (better than than John)".

  • @kissrev1 sorry I wasn't talking to you . it was an accident that happen . That was in responce to someone else . He acted like I didn't know what I read . it very much did read like someone thought Paul McCartney & George harrison was with that group . Then he tells me you can't speak of other groups on that site , BUT it had alraedy been done . Again , I'm sorry , it wasn't meant to be said to you .

  • @connie390 no worries

  • @connie390 no worries

  • @ZoSoRecords ..MAYbe he was upset about having to play lame songs like this one.

  • @ZoSoRecords That's because Paul is "Firm", :)

  • @kissrev1 You ar ea BUTTHEAD!!

  • @EvertaSemper Well, I don't know or really care what prompted you to say that about me. I certainly never said anything to you. So, your assessment of me, while mildly interesting, is also completely irrelevant. Thanks for sharing though...

  • @kissrev1 i saw bad company many times and they played plenty of songs from free and B.C. i didnt feel ripped off.

  • @reg5381 Good for you. I should hope not.

  • @kissrev1 I wonder, if you were to describe the situation, and were honest about what he was doing at that moment there, and what you were doing right before, during, and after when you met him, if it would be obvious to all that you were being a selfish and entitled prick and received a natural human reaction to being such.

  • @ehcmier As these comments were made some time ago, and were not directed at you personally, I wonder just what is the purpose of your two cents? Read the rest of the comments. They seem to bear my statement out. Paul Rodgers is well-known as a jackass in the Rock and Roll community. I never physically met him at all, and therefore your assessment that it must be poor Paul's reaction to me, is completely moot and unfounded. He was contractually bound to meet the people I brought to meet him.

  • @ehcmier Further, I would caution you to steer clear of calling people pricks when it is obvious that you have one firmly stuffed in your own mouth. Douche bag!

  • @kissrev1

It's weird because most people say you couldn't meet a nicer bloke... maybe he was in a bad mood when you me him :P

  • @kissrev1 And short too. lol

  • very cool vid ,i love pages guitar solo, rodgers in my opinion has one of the very best blues voices ever, keep on rockin man

  • @kissrev1 Most musicians do.

  • @kissrev1 You are so right!....One of the BIGGEST PRICKS in rock and roll.Too bad.....

  • Malheureusement, en dépit de Jimmy Page, ce groupe des années 1980 a fait patate...

  • wow, chris slade playing with page, well there you go

  • More great sounds that only Jimmy Page can pull out of a guitar.

  • Sounds like Robert Palmer....

  • gotta love page he's not even trying

  • Not a Zep fan (but I love Whole Lotta ..) but this sound is good. Yeah and drum is too loud.

  • If you don't mind me asking... What do you not like about Zeppelin? And what are a few bands you like?

  • Jrr9521 - Hey thanks for being polite .. funny as most people just write and call me an idiot or worse when I express blunt opinions on youtube. I can't explain why I am not a fan - I mean sure I love Stairways to Heaven and Whole Lotta love and a couple others - but other songs just don't get to me - not that I think Page or Plant aren't great (Bonham was a top 10 drummer of all time I think). Continued ...

  • Jrr cont - Who do I like? Neil Young - The Replacements - Buffalo Springfield - The Move - Love (forever changes CD is Robert Plant's all time favorite album and one of mine too) - Velvet Underground, early Elvis Costello (before the Cole Porter idiocy), Graham Parker and the Rumor, Marshall Crenshaw, Dinosaur Jr, The Impressions, Psychedelic Furs, Psychedelic Nuggets, The Guess Who, The Animals and one hit wonders of the 60s to 80s. Yeah I'm radioactive and retroactive music-wise.

  • Jrr Cont. - My most overrated: Metallica, Pink Floyd (the worst hate mail I get), Rush, Paul McCartney, Grateful Dead, The Dave Matthews Band, Eric Clapton (fine with the Yardbirds and Cream but he's very boring since "I shot the Sheriff" and "Lay down sally"), Kiss, Elvis Presley, Ted Nugget, Areosmith, Rolling Stones since 1972 ( prior to that The RS were stellar).

Who do you like and/or do you think is overrated ? Did you like anyone I mentioned as my favorites? Just curious.

  • I like many of the same bands you like... Velvet Underground and The Animals are two of the best on your list. I also agree with many on your overrated list especially later Clapton (I really dig Cream though). But I'm going to have to say Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands... They're not overrated at all. The thought that goes into their compositions can clearly be seen. I'm also a big Elvis Presley fan. I agree with your views on the Stones and Aerosmith although I still like them

  • JRR - OK thanks for your views. I do realize the thought and intelligence of Pink Floyd but on a visceral level I am not moved. I was just thinking that Page is just paging in this performance of Radioactive and the lyrics are not great but I just like this song a lot. Paul Rodger's voice is also better than with Free, IMO, as he doesn't sound like he is preaching or showing off his great vocals. Cool song.

  • You are a blithering fucking idiot. You can listen to garbage like The Guess Who and you have the balls to call McCartney, Pink Floyd and Zeppelin over rated? Douche.

  • Softparade713. First and foremost, your screen name SOFTPARADE screams - not the Doors - but that you parade your soft and flaccid meat or in your case, vegetable, in front of young boys and girls. I don't listen to the Guess Who but guess who is perverted? You. And they are much better than Wings. Only intelligent, analytical, and intuitive people can appreciate Neil Young, The Replacements, Love, The Move. Since when did McCartney and his silly love song have balls?

  • Not attacking or argumentative, but Paul did write Helter Skelter, Get Back. Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Medicine Jar/ Venus & Mars, Live and Let Die, Jet, Band On The Run, Medicine Jar, Why Don't We Do It In The Road, etc. Yesterday, and Hey Jude were McCartney songs and most certainly not "silly love songs" Give the man his due please. I would never attack John Lennon for "Woman," or "Starting Over."

  • kissrev1. Thanks for not attacking. I honestly just don't like any of those songs or they wore on me very quickly. And it is OK if you don't like Lennon - I dislike those Lennon songs because of Melody. And Johns solo work IMO is not to my taste. But I do like Jealous Guy, beautiful boy, Instant Karma and a couple others. Songs of Paul w Beatles I like: Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby, And I Love Her, I'll follow the Sun, Fool on the Hill, Fixing a Hole. Have new years.

  • never said I didn't like Lennon. I do. I like Harrison Better, but there is a very small gradation of my love for all of the fab four angels. These four guys have literally changed R&R and how the world perceives it. They have and still are influencing popular music today. I was just sayint that Paul was not a shlocky musician who wrote junk. He did some, but I lov ethose silly love songs and there is naught wrong with that

  • kiss I didn't say or imply you didn't like Lennon, did I? It never passed through my mind anyway. You were just defending Paul (with what I consider to be his weaker songs so we just have different tastes). IMO Harrison is not even the writer Paul is. It's easy to a write a song an album and No the Beatles didn't keep his fantastic stuff on their records cause of jealousy. 4 solo work, I liked My Sweet Lord but he ripped that from the Chiffon's "One Fine Day" and lost the suit in court.

  • @11xzxzxz Y'all are also talking like this group mis the BEATLES . They are not ,, they are THE FIRM. NONE of the BEATLES were in this group .

  • @connie390 It was a while ago but no one thinks this group is the Beatles or is anyway related to them. As far as I know, No Beatles or animals were hurt in the making of this video. all beetles were untouched and had nothing to do with them. But is a a law we can't talk about other bands on this site?

  • @kissrev1 Why are people talking like this group is the BEATLES ? None of them were in this group , my statements are made with respect , I mean nothing nasty or rude in my comments .

  • @connie390 Not sure why you are sending your comments to me. I never said anything to you. People were talking about the beatles because the conversation thread went that way. We all know there were no Beatles members in The Firm. The Paul I met and talked about in unkind terms was Paul Rodgers.

  • kissrev1 - Typo alert - Meant " I dislike these Paul songs due to Melody. (Not Lennon).

You do understand I never let my feeling about artists bias my ratings. John ignored Julia all of his life (many humanitarians ignore those close) And I think Paul is very good with the Beatles, except musician (better thank John) it's just that the John written songs I like more and a few of their combo. Oh I also like We can work it out - Mostly a Paul song - John wrote the middle 8).

  • @11xzxzxz It wasn't Julia he ignored . SHE was his mother he barley knew . JULIAN was the son he ignored , that he named after her ! John Lennons mother was killed by a bus, he also never knew his sailor father. For more information he was raised by his Aunt .

  • @kissrev1 Medicine Jar was, ironically (and fittingly) enough, written (and sung) by Jimmy McCullough

  • SoftyParade - Pink Floyd are an intelligent art rock band that bores me but I appreciate their talent just as with Led Z who at least do some terrific songs. You are a nut - to call someone a fuckin idiot becuase they say Pink or Zep are overrated - hey read a few music reviews - Zep is always getting slammed just as your soft parade will be if you don't stop your asinine insults. Grow up.

  • Mrsofty - Looking at your site it looks like you have been doing extensive research into inertia. You have no music videos and you have one video of juvenile humor. Do not bother me again or I will have your income tax audited ... if you ever find a job. And do you douche your soft parade?

  • @11xzxzxz I know there were no incests being talked about , but OTHER people WERE talking about that group like PAUL McCARTNEY WASIN IT & THEY WERE SPEAKING OF GEORGE HARRISON TOO . They talked first , I was telling that they weren't. Why don't you tell those people not to speak of people from one music group like they are in the one of the video at hand? I STILL SEEPEOPLE DOING IT ,, DID YOU MISS OR NOT READ THE COMMENTS THESE OTHERS WERE SAYING ?,, OR JUST MINE?

  • I remember when they toured in the late 80's, they played Stairway to Heaven (instrumental) but I don't see it anywhere here in youtube..

  • great song

  • What a horrible drum sound!

  • Philly '85, The old spectrum- The Firm with special guest Virginia Wolf . Me and my ex wife facing the stage but in the upper tank. I remember saying "were to far away" but the show and the sound took care of that. I will always remember her for "Draging" me to that show. I do love you Lisa.

  • amazing!!

  • saw them at Madison Square Gardens. A definite high point in my life. I was thrilled to no end that I was in the same and breathing the same molecules as the great Jimmy Page.

  • Saw them in Baltimore years back when they first came to be.

The other groups were jealous of them due to no real use of music other than the same old crap they knew how to play.. That is what I hear here on the rock radio station in Texas.

Even- Crack the Sky -who Baltimore, MD embrassed had the same problem. They blew away anyone live on the stage when they played live.

Yep, as Cooleemee43 said, "Nice use of question marks?"

  • this song is superb

  • My wife just got a radioactive dose for her thyroid and this the song in the house.

  • This group should have been great.

I guess its a case of too many chiefs & not enough indians.

Still, Paul Rogers is one of the all time greats

  • @dstrick22 ALL TIME GREATS???? Are you kidding me? He had MAYBE 2 hits with Free, and Bad Co. was produced by yes Jimmy Page, and that included most of the writing,if it had been ALL of the writing they would have been MUCH better of an act than they were.Paul Rodgers rides more on his previous fame than anything else, his wig and modern day style dont impress me. THE OLDER HE GETS,THE BETTER HE WAS!

  • nice use of question marks

  • This one of those classic examples of a band that seemed less then their parts. There was just something missing there overall and its hard to put a finger on it. I bought the two lp's and saw one of the tours and live was much stronger as one would expect but the albums are a mixed bag and the sound on them seems stiffled some how. Critics paned Radioactive but I thought it was kind of cool with that crazy Pagie riff that doesn't seem to be in any particular key, amazing. I was expecting more.

  • I wonder if the "something missing" you refer to was just that 1980s tendency to overproduce everything in the studio. I liked both albums when they were new, but they sound dated to me know, whereas the live versions hold up much better.

  • I was just watching VH1 Classics and watched this band play this song, I didn't know that Jimmy Page was the guitarist for this song, was he a member of the band...?

I came on here because the guitarist looked like him, so I had to see...

  • Yes.. Jimmy page and Paul Rodgers, got this group together and called it "The Firm"

  • @Airamahrog WOW,how large was the rock that you were living under could be ? or was it simply just dropped on your skull ? I did'nt know Paul Rodgers was the singer for the Firm,I thought it was Beeker from the Muppets,or possibly Dr. Bunsen Honeydoo,or possibly even the lead singer from Electric Mayhem (Dr.Teeth)it's all within the realm of possibility.

  • I saw this Tour man,It was awsome to finally see Jimmy Page. The opening band was Virginia Wolf featuring a young Jason Bonham.

  • R you sure that wasn't the mean business tour?? In Omaha, they never had an opening act, but the next year in K.C. i believe they did?

  • I believe it was the first FIRM tour,it was in

Binghamton NY I have pictures somewhere. Jimmy did the Bow solo with the green lazer around him.

  • cool.. They did they same thing then as well. I have the bootlegs, form a few of them shows, and i was told Jason Bonham was present for a show in NY< so your prolly right.. good stuff!

  • Saw them in New Haven in '85... Virginia Wolf opened for them and Jason Bohnam was on drums.

  • What a great solo...

  • i liked the solo cause it was different

  • Cool tune. Never heard of Jason Bonham playing with the firm. I thought it was that bald-headed fella, Mr. Clean also known as Chris Slade.

He later ended up in AC DC.

  • I loved this band because they didn't sound like any other. That Tele has a real edge to it; add Franklin's fretless (at the time Pino Paladino was the only other fretless player getting on the radio, that I know of) and Slade's snare...

When I finally saw them in Seattle in '86 (they cancelled in '85, as it turned out, to enable the Zep reunion at Live Aid) Rodgers said they were a jam band, and had even jammed with members of Yes.

  • I saw The Firm in 1985 at the Rochester War Memorial with Jason Bonham on drums but I don't remember who the bassist was, but he had platnum blonde hair and did the first bass solo I ever heard live in concert and I loved it. If you know who this was during their US Tour, please let me know!

    Thanks for posting!

  • As far as I know, this was the only 4 who played in the firm, Jason Bonham did some stuff in 1988, but tony franklin, paul rodgers, chris slade and jimmy page were the only 4 who would had toured with the firm. I saw them in 1986 as well in KC, for the mean business tour.

  • Page used his double neck to record this.. they never wanted to use it live, since people would think or shout out stairway to heaven, so it sounded different.. much better on the LP

  • dont question the genious ! XD

  • the other guy is paul rogers from bad company the firm kicked ass for the short time they were together

  • I love love love this song!!

  • Didn't that guy play drums in AC/DC for a while?

  • Yes, he played for AC/DC - Chris Slade.

  • interestingly, when AC/DC replaced him with phil rudd after rudd returned from his hiatus, the members of AC/DC commented that they felt bad for letting him go because he was - as they put it - "the best musician we've ever worked with."

he's the real deal for sure.

  • and Tom jones, long ago, and Manfred Mann, Uriah Heap etc..

  • its just weird seein page up there with those guys

  • well..if you,ve heard ONE polka song..you,ve pretty much heard them ALL! hahaha

  • Yes, the first settlers were English, followed quickly by the French and Dutch.

Yet, by the early 1700s, the largest immigrant group to America were Scots.

Most of the southern slavers were the Scots and the Irish, although many English and Dutch slavers lived in New York, especially NY City.

Diatonic music is a "white" invention. Yet, what's important is a strong interplay between whites and blacks, especially after slavery, which gave rise to formal blues, jazz, rock and roll.

  • I,m trying to decide though which is worse..polka music or punk rock???....eh, its a tie.

  • XD

I'm sure that polka music is harder to play than punk rock.

  • you must like polka then idiot

  • thsi aint polka freaks i mean its not even german fuknutz!

  • @norealname0:

    lol, what's german fuknutz?

  • The Blues comes from Scots and Irish (but not Scots-Irish), from whom enslaved Africans learned Western folk music.

Africans lacked any knowledge of diatonic scale music until becoming enslaved.

Slaves learned music from their masters, mostly Irish and Scots.

The earliest recordings of blacks singing the blues shows how blacks had a hard time keeping the same number of bars per measure.

In the same song, they'd sing 8 bars and then 13, and then 9.
