I like how Vinnie pays respect to Michael's solos without trying to note for note copy them
I also agree that Obsession is a great album, maybe not their best overall but it was the first "Post Van Halen" album and Michael really pushed both his attack and his tone to the Max on that album.
Obs was recorded in LA, and Phil and Pete's antics were no doubt influential to the slew of 'street punks' that within a few years would become the new gods of Hair Metal
No doubt Moore is an excellent player. But this one is Schenker's. Furthermore imo Schenker himself would be in trouble replicating the original solo. It's one of those rare kinds that are just too perfect to be real.
WOW....Only just recenlty been introduced to this great band....This track is my new all time favourite...Thank you, my man from the north...You know who you are :-) x x
I saw UFO with Chapman alot in the early 1980's in South Bend..Seems like Rivercity records(Fat Pete) were always getting them at the Morris in the Spring..Great band..Never saw them with my hero Michael..Vinnie does great on these studio versions with Jason..Phil sounds great still...Cort
One of my top fav songs from UFO. Didn't follow them much after Schenker left. Don't like Vinnie's solo in this one nearly as much as Schenkers, doesn't have even close to as much emotion.
Plus are you trying to say i dont appreciate the music of Michael Schenker? listen to the Obession Album AXEFLYERFV has it. best UFO album. I alo like Vinnie Moore and he did the song justice in this rendition
This is the lighter side of UFO. Great lyrics, great singer, great Michael Schenker composed guitar solo. Mogg has some of the best rock lyrics ever written. Misty Green and Blue...luv to luv 4ever
Always been a sucker for the UFO ballads (Lipstick Traces, Belladonna, etc.)
Great to see a video fo this finally with Orchestration. Vinny is such a great substitute for Schenker. Though I've always liked Paul Chapman (UFO, Lonestar) - he never got the due credit for filling such tall shoes (Schenker). Saw him get wrongully boo'd in the 70s.
A classic little ballad that never received the due it ought to have. Mogg's lyric is rather unsophisticated, but it's an effective piece. It is certainly down-to-earth. I sense that Mogg's had a few girls that just wanted a one nighter and maybe he wanted more! Both men and women can relate to this one, I think. Nice work by Moore, too, on the Schenker stuff.
Moore is using a pickup on that guitar called the D'Marzio "Sonnicaster". It is in the same family of the "Tone Zone", but slightly different. It's a nice sounding pickup a la Eric Johnson style, as well, who sounds and plays a lot like Vinnie Moore.
Cool! Loved it! I was bummed to see that it wasn't Michael on guitar but Vinnie did a great job, as did Jason! Paul Raymond was wonderful, as was Phil! Where was Pete? Thanks for posting!!!
Wow, this is cool, I have read from an interview that Phil Mogg would never perform this song again in the studio. I wonder what had changed his mind. Is that Jason Bonham I see on drums?
I loved ufo from the first time, which was rock bottom from "PHENOMENON".And i will always feel the same about ufo.they are without a doubt the best band in rock, also blues and amazing ballads.I hope you come back to TORONTO,ONT. REAL SOON!!!! STRATCAT 101.
Great Video, Phil in Top Form!

Agreed. I think Obsession is UFO's best too. I bought the L.P. in June, '78 when it was released. Sorry man, I'm just another UFO w/Schenker purist.
