  • Tomata was the ultimate ...

  • Amazing. Seriously....oh man I forgot what it was like to be 13 and enamored by whatever trendy music scene is hot. This is the real deal. So rad. Love these guys. Punk isn't a sound. It's an attitude!

  • i know EL DUCE from THE MENTORS was with these guys for a while. but does anyone know if he recorded demos with them???? ive been all over the place trying to locate info on this but i had no luck thanks

  • I went to Target and I didn't see these guys, but I got some good shirts.

  • there as punk and origainl as they come

  • sounds a bit like green day when they are real angry

  • now this is what real punk rock is all about!!!

  • Reminds me some of Alan Vega.

  • Comment removed

  • The Germs = Tomata DuPlenty fronting Zolar X.

  • thanks also for the website!!! much props to you in searching and finding all info related to the screamers and synth punk in the late 70's. one of my favorite musical periods!! :-)))

  • ..........YOU BETTA SHU' UP AND LISSEN'!!!!

  • The whole "Is it punk?" argument is one of the most superficial arguments around today. I know that it's music, and in this case, I personally think it's pretty good. People have a habit of thinking the label is more important than the music, and it's not. It's just an adjective. If you're only listening to music because the majority of people label it as "punk" then I have to think you're missing out on a lot of good music.

  • One of the most influential underground bands....Yes, Punk as Fuck....

  • Listen all you guys arguing about what is or isn't punk:

YOU BETTER SHUT UP AND LISTEN!

  • I love the Screamers. They're one of the few bands that actually gives me the creeps.

  • Sorry but what the fuck is this?

  • @UploaderA The punkest thing you've ever fucking seen.

  • YEAH !

  • huge performance

  • One of the best fuckin bands!!!!

  • good time soundtrack. hi-jinks ensue.

  • Dubstep. Lmfao

  • dubstep isnt the modern punk movement, OFWGKTA is leading that train now.

  • @alake2010 stfu,

  • I have heard that dubstep is considered the modern punk movement, what are the thoughts of the hardcore punk fans?

  • @K0sm1cKid

FUCK NO. I don't mean to be a jerk, but you cant compare it! This is the pop-ier punk rock. I get that people have their own likes and interests, but these are totally different genre's, and they have TOTALLY different motives and scenes.

  • @GumBeatingTV Thanx :) I like your enthusiasm, keep the ideals alive!

  • i wonder if the sreamers ever did show with black randy?

  • Youtube comments - Where shit goes to be with other shit.

  • the screamers j'adore autant que les cramps!

la scéne punk de los angeles

  • @Bouchon211 Dur. They haven't been any decent punk releases since 2004. There's a really strong punk scene where I live though, and we go to local shows and support each other. We have local punk bands, but they're hardcore and badass as fuck.

  • whats 122 hours of fear about I mean I know about the hijacking but what were the people thinking and of course the band at that time.I m talking to all of you old timers -give me the story :P :P Cheers from Greece

  • The Screamers are simply amazing, and any kid who doesn't get it can go get their mom to buy them the same guitar the guy in greenday has while "styling" their entire deal at hot topic. This is punk, not the watered down major label corporate crap that is consumed by having it jammed down everyone's throat.

  • Sry but screamers sux,and vocalist look like duck ;/

  • @KrasusAversa You suck.

  • @Bouchon211 screamers sucks

  • @KrasusAversa Go listen to sum 41 or Paramore little kid.

  • @Bouchon211 I will listen to exploited or sex pistols little screamers fanboy

  • @KrasusAversa The exploited and sex pistols are the most cliche punk bands of all time, the screamers are more punk than both of those bands combined.

  • @Bouchon211 the screamers sounds like my dad when he makes poo... without sex pistols there be no screamer however

  • 122 hours of beer

  • This guy is the anti-rick astley. Is there any way to give more thumbs up for this? The Screamers, the most punk rock band ever!!! period!!!!!

    RIP Tomata du Plenty

  • zajebiste

  • who's the ten morons that need a rope around there neck? Screamers rule!

  • @TheStrainers their*

  • @PayingDebtToKarma thanks for correcting my proper use of there or their. "Conjunction function cartoons" was so long ago. Really, it was very important for your reply.

  • you guys are missing the point. he tells you straight

"YOU BETTER SHUT UP AND LISTEN!!"

  • Such a good buildup, 1:40

  • my first time listening to this band and their fucking amazing!

  • holy shit! i never saw this shit before heh

  • notice how he never blinks

  • WHY DIDNT THEY RELEASE ANY RECORDS ! holy shit this video is amazing.

  • Best performer! I wish more people were as entertaining

  • The screamers are awesome! One of my fav. bands!!

  • Yeah

  • i like to start my day off with the screamers playlist.

  • For me, this is the best thing on youtube.

  • dude this band fucking rocks! they gotta compile all their stuff on cd

  • At least the punk rock kids arguing on youtube are grammatically correct, not like the other retards who won't even have a valid point but will just troll.

I'm proud of you punk rock kids, way to stay strong in the valley of sheep. UNITY!

  • @Laurenisadork Dude todays 'punk' is worse than the shittiest pop in the screamers day.

  • @Bouchon211 seriously have you heard any modern punk? Elmo Marconi, Bomb The Music Industry, O Pioneers, Converge, Have Heart, Quebec, Ampere, Comadre, End of A Year, Shinobu, Teenage Cool Kids, Cheeky, Defiance Ohio, We Are Adam West are all awesome.

Pro Tip: You won't find any good punk on radio maybe some punk inspired power pop like Paramore they have some solid singles. but for the most part real good punk is not very famous and mostly releases stuff on vinyl.

  • @Laurenisadork Generation Y have become all new legendary illiterate morons.

    I think it's funny myself.

  • 9 people should kill themselves.

  • OBEY THE SCREAMERS OR DIE

  • RHODES AND FARFISA POWER !

  • Yes

  • Fuckin hardcore old skool shit!

  • Awesome fucking band. Closest thing to this these days is The Spits.

  • Thanks for the uploads!

  • All you fans of pop better SHUT UP AND LISTEN!! because this is the best stuff ever or BE QUIET OR BE KILLED!!!!!!!!!! fuckin love the screamers

  • Greatest un recorded band ever period

  • @Dwade3WJPR hahaha how the fuck could you possibly know that?! hahahaha

  • This is amazing... but it will trip you out if you watch Tomatas eyes cause he doesnt blink once

  • wow,im so into the 77-78 music it makes me depressed to have only lived in shit times with even shittier music.

the la scene now isnt anything compared then

  • @kimvictim no scene is.. people today just suck.

  • This song is sooo badass, and raw, punchy, and in your face. For instance I love how he says, "Be quiet or be killed," and "You better shutup and listen." It's just so edgey and in ur face, that's basically the meaning of a punk front man right there. and Iove how they only use synthesizers and a drumkit, it's so cool and catchy.

  • dude, fuck greenday, they don even deserve to be mentioned on the same page as the screamers

  • @PunkValenzuela yeah, bands who belong on the same page as the screamers are the sex pistols and the misfits, totally not greenday.

  • @97Grimsta Lol, I hope that's sarcasm.

  • @PunkValenzuela but in the same comment??

  • @PunkValenzuela and yet you include them in your comment

  • @DilbertHernandez

dude fuck off,im sick of people like you fuckin always on youtube tryna correct people

  • @PunkValenzuela not trying to correct you, i just thought it was funny that you didn't want green day mentioned at all, then you decide to bring them up

  • @DilbertHernandez

    so you're being a smartass

  • @PunkValenzuela doesn't takes smarts to see the paradox in your comment. i'll be a smartass, god forbid anyone make observations, fucking jock

  • @DilbertHernandez

says the guy that has nothing better to do

  • @PunkValenzuela bunch a hippie sellouts

  • @PunkValenzuela damn right! this is punk!

  • @PunkValenzuela

    How ironic.

  • @Mopfin

im the one with the thumbs up fuckhead

  • @PunkValenzuela

    Jesus, chill out man.

Read out your comment, then read mine out. I am and always will be a Screamers fan, all I'm saying is that, by posting your hate comment on Greenday, you're ironically ''mentioning'' them on the same page as The Screamers.

  • @PunkValenzuela voted up x 10000

  • @dwilfong66

    lo sabes,ahahaha

  • ya better shut up and listen!

  • WOW WHAT A SHOW 122 hours of fear

  • Google "The Screamers - The Complete Works minus 2" for the best mp3 comp available!

  • Google "The Screamers - The Complete Works minus 2" for the best mp3 comp available!

  • This is so awesome.

  • Subtonix ripped off this song. No Wave is because of this band. We need more male singers with onstage presents! RIP Tamata. Love him.

  • You better SHUT UP AND LISTEN! TO THIS REAL PUNK ROCK MUSIC

  • this = punk

greenday = whiny liberal hippy bull crap

  • @halfNERD17 I'm sure you're referring to their album "American Idiot", because if you listened to anything before that you wouldn't say this.

  • @xamberbarlowx yes dookie was awesome

they used to talk about life but now...

    same with family guy

  • @xamberbarlowx Listen, honey, Green Day was shit long before American Idiot.

  • @DrBeatnik come on man why does every one have to me so close minded main streamers only like theirstuff underground dudes hate main streamers come on guys appreciate other genres, other styles, every thing no need to call something shit just cuz u dont like it, try to like every thing or at least tolerate it....... except country fuck those guys

  • @drewmic323 You're either joking or you're an idiot. I really don't care which.

  • @DrBeatnik well fuck you in the butthole

  • Wow! What a song!

  • lol trent ripped march of the pigs from this

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL

  • Great video, but what a bullshit asshole cameraman; he didn't show the rest of the band until the video was more than halfway done!

  • Funny comment, this is what's called "dramaturgy" or "suspense factor" in the business of moving images, and it works brilliantly here.

  • the-fucking-greatest

  • Avant-garde.

  • Thank the heavens that this was even recorded!!! Brilliant music and even more brilliant minds behind it!!!!

  • elastic minds ,,,, i totaly agree wit u this band iss sooo compleatly origonal ...and soo punk ... its crazzzyy ... i dont know when they started but i know they were around the same time the germs were like 76 or 77 ,,,,, punk rock ,,, really started and florished in LA .... and the screemers are living proof ,,,

  • Punk rock: The perfect fusion of New wave and Harcore (ie, the sex pistols)

  • I fucking love this Screamers song!! does anybody know where I can download their music for free??

  • @EDDIEJOVOVICH the internet

  • @TheRacistsMustDie but whereee?! they are not on limewire or frostwire and i tried looking for then on websites! :(

  • @EDDIEJOVOVICH I'll send you a pm. But for everybody, try more blogspots and mediafire/rapidshare and less limewire and such OR BUY.

  • his face makes me lol

  • Miód, zaskakujesz mnie ! Nie wiem, gdzie tych skrimersów znajdujesz, ale myślałem, że poza Demos nic w internecie nie zostawili. Dzięki za synthhysterię :D

  • Look at this, who needs guitars? Just throw 'em away no need for it at all! : P

  • this is freaking AWESOME!!

  • the Screamers were thee best of the early punk bands

  • Original absolute fucking sonic violence * lol

  • Amazing!

  • This is how I wish punk was still! Goofy, strange and disturbing not all this macho bullshit where the bands are just football players who exchanged their uniforms for bondage pants and studs.

  • a newer punk band that uses a synthesizer is intro5pect. look em up, they're pretty dam good...

  • @equalisticanarchist Fuck yes, intro5pect was OBVIOUSLY highly influenced by the screamers, both bands are amazing, glad to see someone made the connection

  • I cannot get over how fucking amazing this is. Synth-punk has to be THE most under-utilized medium ever.

  • snob.

  • @milkman1847

Uh? I don't really see where you're getting that from. I wasn't trying to say I'm a synth-punk connoisseur, it's just that I personally love this, yet I've hardly ever heard any bands of this nature. It captures the paranoia that punk so-often tries to convey very well.

  • Go listen to hippie guitar music hippie.

  • @milkman1847 I love you.

  • Saw 'em in May of '78 at the Beaver Building in Portland. Baaaad asssed band.

  • Awesome! When music didn't suck!

  • Saw them in SF..."Little Red Dress" was the best. Never saw them again.

  • Such a great band. I have the demos on a bootleg LP released a few years back.

  • ...and they never put out a record, except for the demo

  • this song has been in my head for the past two days !!! WOW WHAT A SHOW!! 122 hours of fear! 122 hours of fear!!

  • @CardboardAsFurniture

    35 years too late son

  • The faces he makes are amazing hah

  • i already uploaded this :\

i think mine got taken down?

  • is fucking amazing mother fokers!!!

  • "YOU BETTER SHUT UP AND LISTEN"!!

  • fuckin awesome

  • absoluetly sexy

  • Great band

  • My first Screamers experience! Love it

  • BE QUIET OR BE KILLED!

  • i looked this song up on itunes but they were all tributes

  • they never recorded, which is why you often hear that the Screamers are the best band ever not to have recorded their music. they were toying with the idea of releasing their music only via videotape. they were a very creative band, unfortunately their ideas were constrained by technology, "impracticality" and unimaginative people around them. RIP TDP

  • this is a band who only produced videos, or live shows... no songs

  • the drummer kk barett was the production designer for where the wild things are

  • I wish these guys would have released a legit record back in the day. They were more into video though, thanks to Target Video this is available! Get the DVD from MVD video, it is great!!!

  • best band ever

  • I was there when they shot this video, the walls around them were white...Screamers were my favs!

  • After "He Said" Tomata makes such a funny face

  • Hands down this is the best video on youtube

  • Right on.

  • its true.

but the quality of this bootleg is very bad.

  • this is as good as it gets when it comes to the Screamers.

  • i have a screamers album only 200 copies made mine is number 6. it's different live shows. im selling it.

  • ill buy it, how much.

  • My Favorate punk band, next to Suicide! Kids, this is how you use synthesizers in a punk band! I think guitars would have made taken away the rawness.

  • @ElasticMinds , psychic

  • watch the negative version

    freeking awesome

it suited the screamers synth music

  • "You'd better shut up & listen" - fantastic video, thanks for posting...

  • modern punk rock is a sad joke compared to this, helll a lot of classic punk rock is as well. This ladies and gentlemen is just brilliance.

In a way I am glad they never "made it", and now all we have left are some uncompromising aural fragments. Better this than a pitiful geezer "comeback" (cash-in?) tour (yes that means you Lyndon!)

  • yass now we have pop-"punk" on one and punk-revival on the otherside (and im not talking just about Harvester tour- but all that sad dogmatism...) youre right, brilliant hell

  • Fuck modern commercial punk.

if they had "made it" I wouldn't be into them =).

    Very much agreed, brilliant.
