when do you know to use oyomi or kyuomi?

@hartstaken22 I'm going to assume that you mean onyomu and kunyomi! Onyomi refers to the chinese pronunciation of the kanji and you typically use these when kanji are combined with one another to make a compound. Kunyomi refers to the Japanese pronunciation and these are used more when kanji stand alone or when kanji are combined with hiragana in verbs for example. Usually video game titles are not translated but rather written out in katakana. It's still pronounced Kingom Hearts -> キングダム ハーツ (kingudamu ha-tsu)

@nekomarly2 would what be the same? The word for sky is sora...and they write it with one kanji that means sky. That kanji can be pronounced many ways if it's combined, but you know the kanji is for sky :)

lol your explanation of their names made me realize that their names actually match their traits a bit...like how you said the kanji for that part in air is genki or energy which sora has a lot of...or gaijin in ocean which means outsider and kairi is originally from radiant gardens ... and how you said the kanji for riku is complicated which Riku's personality is pretty complicated...lol idk i might just be overthinking this...

Well, Sora's kanji isn't in Genki at all ^^ It's one of the 2 kanji that make up air...and the second kanji in air (the one that isn't sora) is also in Genki ;p so they're really not related XD;; but if you connected them like that I see how it could work ;p
